Carditone dosing, creatine and BP

Rebuild

Member
Hello everyone, I have been using peptides and my blood pressure keeps creeping up (no AAS). This morning it was really bad:

151/80, heart rate: 58

I have a bottle of Carditone showing up today, and want to know what the best way to dose it is. My BP is usually much better in the evening (100-110/60-70), so I am a little worried it may get too low at night.

Also I am on a very strict whole food keto diet and getting 10-15 servings of vegetables a day (mostly from green leafy vegetables). However, I have been consuming a lot of salt and loading creatine for intra-workout pumps, I will be stopping creatine for now, and cutting my salt intake in half. Any advice on using creatine without spiking BP would also be appreciated.

@Hyde

Tagging Hyde because he always has the best info and I have seen him mention Carditone several times on here. Thanks for reading.

Try the carditone at 1 per day. Its effective for most. A lot of guys ive seen here mention 2 caps lowering bp too much.

Have you had your blood sugar and sodium levels checked? Are you overweight? History of high bp? Usually, high blood sodium levels start with high blood sugar... high blood sugar -> increased insulin activity -> increase in sodium levels. Being on keto(how long have you been on keto?), blood sugar and insulin activity should be a non factor so the salt issue makes me scratch my head. Must be something else going on.

Blood sugar is rock solid, highest reading was 93 before keto, highest reading while on keto was 88 the day after a refeed.

I have been back on keto for 3 weeks now, I was 184 lbs, 14% bodyfat before keto, now 179 lbs, 12% bodyfat (according to my bio electric impedence scale).

I had a physical with bloodwork done at the beginning of December, sodium was fine. Cholesterol was very high at 350, ALT was slightly high (about 4 points above the range I believe). Just rechecked cholesterol and it is just barely elevated now at 212, HDL= 58, triglycerides= 77.

The only other thing I can think of is that I stopped using marijuana 2 weeks ago, after using it heavily for 9 years, and I am only getting about 5-6 hours of sleep a night, functioning well though. Thanks for the reply.

If your lipids have improved that much in the last 2 months, I would feel confident they’ll continue to improve some, so I wouldn’t be worried about those current levels. Blood sugar is obviously good now too.

Carditone as mentioned is pretty effective at just 1 tab daily. That’s all I used on blast and it dropped me about 12-16 points. It takes a little to build up in your system so monitor your levels because you may be able to go down to half a tab daily, or need to increase up to 2 daily. Some people say it doesn’t work for them but most feel the results pretty quick. Only side I experienced was a slightly stuffy nose that gets better as your body accommodates. Much less stuff than something like Tadalafil.

Because you’re in a situation where you are not blasting steroids temporarily and actually just have chronic high bp, realize Carditone should not be a permanent solution (without a doctor knowing at least). Lisinopril isn’t necessarily the devil, and we aren’t doctors. High bp can destroy your kidneys if left unchecked.

Electrolytes are important, especially on keto. Be careful not to pull too much sodium too quickly. Make sure you are getting at least 5g potassium daily, and more is probably better in your circumstance. 2:1 potassium:salt is a pretty heart-healthy ratio to shoot for. Salmon, beef, greens, seeds can be good sources, and you can buy granulated potassium at the supermarket to supplement anyway. Nu Salt is one, and I use Morton’s brand myself.

Creatine I would drop for now if you are noticing accuse BP increases and concerned. You can always add it back in later slowly when things are under control.

Thank you for the info hyde! I will shoot for 7,000 mg of potassium and 3,500 mg of sodium a day, and drop creatine. Currently having 2 small pacific cod fillets a day, each has about 1200 mg of potassium I believe, and 2 salmon fillets a week. I'll try and increase salmon but it is very expensive this time of year. Also having a ton of leafy greens: 12 oz per day, and 2 Tbsp each flax seeds and chia seeds.

My doctor is on me about my blood pressure, but I would like to avoid Lisinopril if possible, as I am wary of it preventing the breakdown of arachidonic acid, which would increase inflammation. At least that is what I have read several times on other forums.

Some supps to consider researching further: garlic, grape seed extract, Arjuna bark, & curcumin. I like NOW, Zazzee, Himalaya, & Vitamin Shoppe respectively. The last one is mainly for inflammation, but does a lot of good.

More great recommendations, thanks again dude. I actually have some Himalaya Arjuna lying around someone gave me, so I can start that now. Running the numbers it looks like my potassium: sodium ratio was 1:1 or worse, so hopefully changing to 2:1 will help. Also just took my first tab of Carditone.

The potassium should make a very significant difference if you were that short. Don’t add it in all at once though if we’re talking grams. Ramp up and split up the dosing so you can make sure things are taking right, and really measure the granules if supplementing. 2:1 is a bit under what the WHO recommends even, but understand a gross overdose of potassium can be LETHAL. Measure well!

Thanks for the heads up. I got ~6000 mg potassium from whole foods yesterday, and ~1500 mg of potassium from good state brand, liquid ionic potassium added to a gallon of water and sipped on throughout the day.

BP was 136/83 when I woke up. After having Carditone and turmeric/ginger tea, BP was 112/78. Improvement already, so I think I will stick to this protocol.

Thanks again for your help dude, you are a total legend on here.

Lol just a dude trying to make some gains like everyone else. But if we share ideas and talk shop, we usually can get better a little faster than trying to figure out everything solo.
