Best Workouts for Mass?

Hi Everyone,

I am convinced that StrongLifts 5X5 is the best way to get stronger.

However, what workout programs are the best at getting muscle hypertrophy, aka muscle mass?

1. It can be a standalone program, like Hypertrophy Max or Gamma Bomb, or something in supplement to something like StrongLifts 5X5.

2. I will accept either custom-made, or preset programs (like Hypertrophy Max, Gamma Bomb, etc.).

3. I know, it always "depends" on where the person is, where he wants to go, etc. Yet, for this, let us assume that we are talking about an average person, average metabolism, average ability to put on muscle, and been lifting a few years (hence eliminating newbie gains, but not maxed out).

4. I also know a huge part of exercise is core strength, range of motion, etc. Let us not concentrate on that. That can be for another post.

5. Any research that supports such conclusions are the best.

Thanks!

You could do a lot worse than this! Let those who have come before you show you the way

After you're familiar with you MRV slowly increase frequency and train. Eat enough protein (.75-1.25g per lbm) and enough CHO to keep your workouts progressing.

One thing I’ve noticed is that when it comes to building mass bro splits are crap. Full body 3x per week or an upper/lower/upper/lower split is by far superior. Not sure if I’ll ever go back to bro splits. As far as a specific workout routine goes I’m about to start a program called RP-21 that looks pretty decent.

I don't know that I'd say bro splits are crap as many have made a lot of progress with them. A lot of that depends on your age, diet, whatever else you're taking. A 20 year old who eats like a horse is going to build mass even if they have an arm day.
