Exotherm before sleep

Two questions:

1. Can you apply Exotherm before sleep? In other words, can you leave it on during sleep?
2. I brought the Exotherm about a year ago, does it expire?

Shouldn't be anything that would hinder sleep. Sleep may be improved. Being about a year old, it should not have degraded. Enjoy the run
