Phenibut aggression

I wanted to share a recent side effect I've developed from using phenibut. The last few nights, I've been using it to aid sleep, but have been using up to 2g (first night was 1g, then 1.5, now 2g last night) and this morning I'm experiencing some serious aggression, however – I have absolutely zero anxiety. I did some research into this and aggression is a known side effect according to pubmed. Not good...I just wanted to share this with the forum in case people aren't aware of it. The feeling was very apparent this morning, kind of a constant, lasting aggressive feeling that's not going away, not sparked by anything in particular.

I always thought there was a bit of a rebound effect after using phen, sort of similar to benzos when they wear off.

Definitely. I tend to see this effect after a few days of heavy usage. It was strange yesterday. I felt very agressive yet groggy the whole morning, then towards the evening I was very hyper! Most definitely was dopamine causing this. Worked out well as I had a rooftop BBQ to attend last night and was extremely social.

I wonder if it's dose related. I've never taken more than 500 mg (for sleep or during the daytime) and haven't experienced rebound anxiety or increased aggression. Have you tried taking agmatine with the phenibut? You could probably get away with a lower dose of phenibut (which would hopefully get rid of those side effects you experience) because it really potentiates the anti-anxiety and improvement in sleep effects.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it sometime. I was taking it with hydroxyzine, a prescription anti-histamine. Yesterday when the aggression wore off and the hyperness came, I still had no anxiety at all though, just a ton of smooth energy. It was actually really great.

Haha nice
I literally joined one just for that reason and quickly found out how bruise proof I am...compared to everyone else. Now I only fight with the trainers lol. No but seriously phenibut can release emotions you didn't even know you had. It's really healthy and feels awesome to actually let it out by beating the **** out of practicing fight moves with someone in a controlled setting. You'll probably increase your testosterone levels as well as a side bonus.

Hmmm interesting. I do know I am or can be a very aggressive person and have a lot of anger inside that pops out at times. Maybe I do indeed need a therapeutic outlet, and it could help me with self-control / discipline as well.

It really does in part because you develop respect for the trainers so even though you're fighting them you're not angry at them and start to feel more balanced out and better direct your anger. I think of it like anger training. I honestly can't believe they accept money to punch and kick them as unusual as it seems it's basically a legal fight club.

With my lumbar issues, I dunno if I’m cut out for kickboxing. I’d have to really bulletproof my core. But hey, that’s extra motivation for me to do just that now haha

You'll be happy to hear that I've found a Muay Thai school in my area, within walking distance, and will be joining next month. My therapist recommended it to me too haha.. I'm actually really looking forward to the discipline and intensity. Hoping to work in at least 2 classes a week into my training, maybe 3, if possible.

Curious though, how do you personally work kickboxing into your overall training days/program?

Btw, I've been using phenibut again this week to sleep after taking 4 days off. First night, worked well, was feeling super bright and awake in the morning (and all day). 2nd day was ok. 3rd day (of only dosing 1.5g at night) and I'm feeling tired, dissociated, and aggressive again. I think it's a cumulative build-up of dopamine.

You should try following the 2 day on, 1 day off rule and see if that helps. Or do 1 on, 2 off. Might have to play around with this and find out what is best.
Personally I wouldnt go over 1g either but thats just from my own trial and error.

Thanks, I’ll try that out. 1.5g seems to be the sweet spot for me in terms of sleep quality vs hangover effect.

Awesome Bro. Let me know what you think of it. I'm down to twice a week now first thing in the mornings then I workout in the afternoon so I'm not too tired to train.
