How long is an opened Multi dose vial good for?

I have a half used 10ml bottle of sustanon that has been sitting for a year. I think I switched from it to something else so there was some left over. I don't see any particles or anything in it, but I probably couldn't see bacteria if it was in it. Doesn't the benzyl alcohol and benzyl benzoate keep it clean? I know every time you puncture it, you're letting air in.

Is it still good? Or would I get an infection if I used it?

Generally the only issue you'll get once the air is let in is crystalization in the bottle, but heating it up and shaking will remove that.

Almost forever, if nothing started to grow in it. When I store a opened vial, of lets say Test-U, I place it for a minute in boiling water. That kills possible pathogens and removes the air, after that it gets stored in the fridge.

Ok what does crystalization look like? There is something floating in it. Its hard to explain. Like a cloudy trail

Ok I ran it under hot water and thought that damaged it and was going to throw it away. It says store at a certain temperature so I thought the hot water might have caused damage

When I said "a minute" -okay, that may be a bit long.
Recommended storing temperature should be room temperature, because at low temps it could crystallize.
As far as I know, up to 170F or 77C causes no damage to the gear. Over that, some oxidation may occur. It is mixed (raw powder + oil) on a hot plate when they fabricate it. For a 10ml vial to reach 77C, it will take a while. Think of placing a egg in boiling water -and the time it needs to cook.

another 4 years or more. If it does not crystallize, but that can be addressed.

4 years??? Wow. What about the air that is introduced into the bottle every time you puncture it? And what about the thing floating in mine? Its like a white cloudy vapor trail

It should be fine. You can leave it under a UV light for a half hour or so if you're really anxious about the tiny bit of air that's gotten into it.
