Unanswered Keto and Excessive Sweating?

I started my Keto diet this week, and so I’m only on day two. Feeling great so far, but granted it is only the beginning lol. My concern though is that ever since I switched, I sweat incredibly easily. I am nonstop sweating almost all day. The slightest bit of heat and I start melting lol. Has anyone else experienced this or know what I can do to stop soaking every piece of clothing I own?

No idea there mate. I’m keto and do not experience this at all, if anything it’s the opposite. Weight loss is probably also a big factor in my case though

Sounds like an individual thing pertaining to you, not widespread across the board.
Talcum powder sprinkled liberally on your bod...to absorb the sweat.
Keto, hmmm, salt intake okay? Day 2 is very early stages....would need to know what you're eating, some people do vegan keto, believe it or not.

I’m one to basically get every side effect possible with anything I do or take, and I’ve never heard of this one.

Not sure on this one either but everyone reacts differently.

Ya see fbks...no one really knows...
What I do know is that if you Google 'excessive sweating in men'...it can be linked to testosterone levels and other hormonal issues...generally.

I am 3 weeks into keto and sweating all the time myself. My libido is also insane so I'm hoping increased testosterone is the cause.

Good stuff danielvp, keep the keto going bub...on keto too, certainly feeling an increase in general heat but not a 'clothes soaked with sweat' situation...libido up sure (but personally I'm on Tongkat Ali, Maca, tribulus, icariin a load of natural so-called 'boosters').
Doing GVT German Volume Training too, 10x10...not messing around this time.
Hope everyone reaches their physical goals this Summer....mine is to get absolutely S.H.R.E.D.

So I have no idea what that was all about, but it only lasted two days lol. Haven’t sweat like that since. Literally no idea what happened but I guess it’s all good now

Glad you're doing okay now fbks...will try and be of better help next time

Nah, I appreciate everyone’s responses. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced something like this, especially in the first couple days lol. But I’m loving Keto so far. Down from 216lbs on July 1st to 207lbs this morning. I know most all of it was water, but still loving seeing that scale drop lol

Are you getting proper electrolytes?

I would believe I’m getting enough. I know I have plenty of Sodium intake, but I believe I’m getting enough Magnesium. Plus, I do use supplementation.
I think my body was just trying to figure out what was going on with the sudden drop in carb intake.
Appreciate it though. Electrolytes weren’t really something I was thinking about as a concern during Keto

A little late to the party here but I experienced exactly this when I started my keto diet. The first four days I was sweating excessively which isn't the norm for me at all. Day five and after, this issue completely went away! No obvious clues as to what would have caused this and why it would be so temporary.

I have been on keto for 2 months and I would like to contribute, but the thing is, I have always sweated excessively. So, I am sweating excessively now too, but I cannot say if that is the Keto at work. Maybe it's a bit worse? I do feel "hot" almost all the time, and I believe I am a creature that "needs" an AC always. My breed wouldn't have survived before the invention of the AC. I do take electrolytes.

Excessive perspiration is called Hyperhidrosis, and it can be a primary condition in and of itself, or it can be a secondary condition that arises as a symptom of something else. In many milder cases, primary hyperhidrosis would not be treated, but if the condition is interfering with your work or your day-to-day life there are things that can be tried.

Primary hyperhidrosis that has been a mild problem can become more severe over time for various reasons. Weight gain is one such reason, but mild primary hyperhidrosis could also become more severe if a condition that causes secondary hyperhidrosis also occurs.

The thing to understand is that this is a medical problem, not a social one. It is important that you consult with your personal physician to go over your personal and family history, and to get some tests done and referrals to any specialists he or she deems appropriate.

In my case, weight loss helped a lot, but a drug that I’m taking for other reasons may also be helping to control my perspiration.

As with any medical-related issues, it's best to seek advice from a qualified medical practitioner. The information provided is not to be used or relied on for any diagnostic purposes and should not be used as a substitute for professional diagnosis and treatment.

Six quick tips to stop sweating so much:
  1. Use a clinical strength antiperspirant.
  2. Apply antiperspirant properly.
  3. Dress strategically.
  4. Watch what you eat – Spicy, fatty foods are often sweat triggers.
  5. Exercise regularly to combat stress and promote balance.
  6. Don't sweat (stress) your sweat.

That's great! It's a real experience. I had the same.
