at the time I thought clinton was a radical left winger---in comparison to today he could be considered a conservative[right of center at very least]. if Hillary would have got off her high horse and listened to bill she would probably be president....I would be willing to bet bill told Hillary told you so more than once, lol.

the whole Vietnam story is interesting...I am friends with a guy who owns a nail salon in one of the malls I take care of. he was a regular in the south Vietnamese army who immigrated here with his family after the war...he tells me that when he goes back to visit he is amazed by how many americans and French people he sees visiting and doing business there. he also tells me americans are very well treated there. best of all he is even friends with many who fought for the cong.....I guess time heals [almost] all wounds....this reminds me of our own civil war and the story of 2 guys, one from south one from north who lost legs in the war-one left, one right, after the war they became friends and went halves on pairs of shoes.

I liked your comment because you deserve and explain your position well. Indeed, things need to simmer down before someone is harmed with more than words. That school needs an investigation in how they handle field trips, and have behaved in the past and change needs to take place. Maybe it is a vocal minority, but they have some serious issues.

If you watch other videos of the 'incident' between those kids and the indigenous drummer, some other group was racially taunting the kids but they drowned them out with schools chants, only to then have the drummer walk in their school circle, having NO idea who he was, and somehow they are still being painted as the bad guys.

Tornadoes happen too, but I don't walk around worried about them. That one person on CNN is a ****ing moron. That story doesn't speak to anybody else except her. And I'm glad that you understand it's the loud minority that gets headlines, but acting like it's a bigger deal than it is only adds to the problem.
 
Think about this. There are people I've spoken to, even people in this thread that think these MAGA hat-wearing kids were treated unfairly when they simply chose to express themselves politically. Some of those same people had no issue bashing kids who were involved in a school shooting when they also chose to express their political opinion, including saying that the kids were paid actors. There are actually people that sympathize more with a kid who had a drum in his face than with kids that watched friends get gunned down simply because of what side their political view is.

I’ve actually seen a lot of people on social media claiming that there’s something inherently wrong with being white. I’ve had a college professor tell me I can’t talk about discrimination because I “look like an Aryan,” but I’m Jewish with family from Hungary and Poland who made it to America not that long before the Holocaust. So it’s not just one person. It’s a minority, but it’s more than one person saying these things, just like it’s not just one person saying stupid Republican things, but it’s still a minority.

Those people are idiots too. I’m talking about one set of idiots; I never suggested that other groups of idiots don’t exist or aren’t idiots. It’s like when I say I didn’t think Obama was a good President and people say “but Bush did X, Y, and Z.” Ok, but who said I liked Bush either?
 
How about instead of saying that one group of idiots that harasses and threatens children (which we saw with people responding to these highschoolers and to the ones from Parkland) is worse than the other group that did the same, we just admit that they’re all idiots? We can have different groups of people be idiots at different times for different things... I just happen to be talking about one now. I never said that the other didn’t or doesn’t exist, or that they aren’t also idiots.

You should call people out on their bull****, but I suggest picking your battles on social media or there won't be enough hours in the day. People on social media get bold because there are less consequences. They talk a lot, but what power do they actually have? Do they even vote? Same with high school kids and even college kids. They think they know everything and have it all figured out, yet they're complete morons. We all went through the same phase, although some certainly never grow out of it. If people are using the word Aryan to describe your looks, then tell them to go look that word up because it didn't start with Nazi Germany and doesn't mean what they probably think it means. White Europeans stole it just like they did "Caucasian."

I’m not going on social media and trying to convince people they’re wrong; I simply pointed it out here as something that exists. You then felt compelled to tell me it’s not that prevalent, when I even admitted that it was only a vocal minority. Ok, cool, then why bring up the other side of the spectrum’s vocal minority of idiots? I’m not a Republican, and I didn’t agree when they did it either.

I also shouldn’t have to explain why the term Aryan isn’t technically an accurate term when someone uses in a position of power uses it in a derogatory manner to me and tries to silence my views because of it. Even if Aryan was the correct term, it’s still offensive and inappropriate to call me one and attempt to discredit my views because of it. So to focus on semantics would be to ignore that fact...

It came right after a response to my post; I (incorrectly) assumed that it was a follow up, as it addressed the same topic we were discussing. My point that one group of idiots being idiots doesn’t make another group of idiots any less of idiots still stands though. If we brought up an older group of idiots every time we saw a new group of idiots we’d never stop talking about idiots, as there have always been idiots.

I just told you that a professor of mine did essentially the same thing to me... it wasn’t out of “vanity,” it was to provide an example to counter your point that it’s something exclusive to social media that has no actual bearing on real life interactions.

I could say that you’re getting riled up too, as you made a post about idiots from an even older event.

I would be willing to bet that most older conservatives were young radicals in their youth, I know I was. just remember baby boomers grew up in the 60's-70's drug culture days, anti-establishment was the 'cool' thing-we were the ones who coined the term 'generation gap'....now todays youth think we are the enemy, lol. what todays youth don't understand is they are not special, my generation has already been there and done that...anyone know the history of the violent underground groups of the 60's-70's?
 
I was young and conservative until I saw the ugliness in the fake religious going out and being the opposite of what was preached in church then back in church professing their sorrow for their sins to God. Now I'm older and wiser and consider fringe thought process to be a sickness that either develops one direction as a youth as you describe, or the other.

I prefer to look beyond mortal years of 'life' towards a more internal engine of self-definition.
It's more of a life distraction taking sides, and if you can avoid it, the happier you'll be. Call that hedonism or parse my words based on some other brainwashed nonsense, but believe there is truth wrapped in this fortune cookie.

Those in power seek to keep it and pass it on to their own, and those whom don't seek to obtain it and keep it.
It's a basic twist on Hunt & Gather Agression and the success of a species that eats it's own and damned our own habitat as long as we keep our footing on this global habitat. Keep running on that treadmill of life until you die and are buried and forgotton by all but a few. Having a more profound wareness of one's existence and short trip to demise is more important to me than the placation of some poorly born ideals enforced by those with the short sightedness of a housefly.

I do find it ironic that the right claims to want small government while trying to have the government limit what people can be a couple legally or stop them from smoking weed at their house. Both parties are two sides of the same hypocritical coin, taking largely the same actions with different justifications, while both parties favor giving the government more power, just power for different things, failing to realize that when you give your party power when they’re in power, that same power will be given to the other party when they’re in power. This repeats, and the government continues to grow stronger.

you ever hear of 'hippie communes' of the 60's-70's? they always failed because person or persons always wanted more and wanted to be in control....it is the nature of being human.


the reason I continue to vote republican-because I don't want this country to become a hippie commune state like the dems seem to want it to be. I am strongly opposed to this country becoming a welfare state. I believe in having a safety net for those who truly need it, but I don't believe in handouts for able bodied[and minded]people.

I’m a libertarian. I am also opposed to a lot of welfare spending. I’m just saying that many conservative principles of limited government interference in day to day life is great, but then they turn around and try to control it in other aspects. As a libertarian, I think if we cut welfare we can open the borders a lot more; like we used to have when you think Ellis Island in the early 1900s. Both sides today are massive hypocrites.

I also estimate that at least75% of illegals are getting some form of welfare, I know they use the healthcare system[ever go to a er]? but the elderly who have paid into the system their entire life have to choose between medicine and food

My point is that closed borders with welfare doesn’t stop people, it just makes the people that come illegal by definition.

We want people coming here to not come for welfare, so if we cut it, they won’t come here for it. We also want to vet them, which we can only do if they come legally. So we want to encourage legal immigration, not illegal immigration.

I think that if someone wants to come here, be on no welfare (if it’s cut a lot), and can prove they’re not a criminal, we should let them in. Hell, you proved my point. We have people from Canada with degrees and jobs who have to jump through hoops for years to become citizens, but someone hops the border from Mexico and they’re in. It’s a broken system. The problem isn’t immigrants, it’s illegal immigrants.

No idea. If we eliminated most welfare, we’d have a lot less people trying to sneak in. And if we ended the war on drugs and legalized them we’d have way less cartels and drugs crossing the border. A wall is then less necessary if less people want to illegally cross the border.

you did not think this through clearly....I thought we were dealing with a opiod crisis with drugs being the problem and you want to legalize them, lol. you can say what you do with your body is your business, but who is going to pay medical bills...look at cigarettes, they have been legal for years but people are tiring of paying medical bills for people that smoke.

Many opioid deaths involve fentanyl, which is essentially ONLY in illegal street drugs, and most people using it don’t even know it’s there. Clearly making opioids illegal to use without a script isn’t doing jack s**t; you said so yourself...

Also, prohibition worked so well, right? All it did is fix our organized crime shortage. And no one ever smoked weed when it was/is illegal, right? Outlawing drugs doesn’t make people not use them, it just makes anyone who does a criminal, and creates a black market that is unsafe for the buyer and the general public, as it’s often conducted by violent gangs and cartels. Not to mention the quality and purity of the drugs is always less, which leads to many unnecessary and accidental deaths by users who don’t really know what they’re using because their friendly neighborhood drug dealer and his gang of merry men aren’t the most reputable fellows with the best QA/QC practices.
 
Also, we’re on a freaking anabolic forum where half the users buy and use drugs that are, at best, grey market, and often illegal. So who are you to decide which drugs should be legal? Only the ones you want to use?

why would you care about anyone getting off opioids if you are advocating their legality...everyone must get high-right?


I have a say in it because my family is going to be on the roads with those drugged up fools. as if alcohol isn't bad enough lets up the ante, and let bars sell vicodin along with shots of alcohol.

Alcohol is legal, you still can’t drink and drive. Legalizing drugs wouldn’t mean it’s legal to drive on them; that’s a fallacious argument. The people using drugs illegally probably aren’t paying attention to laws shout driving sober either...

yeah, republican politicians do not represent what republican voters want them to....sooner rather than later i'm afraid the dems will be back in full control and we will become a full blown welfare state-when that happens say goodbye to the U.SofA.

Both parties need to stop giving the government more power when their party is in control if they don’t want the other party to inherit said power when they take control. So the Republicans who support Trump and want to give him more power have no right to complain when the next democrat president uses that power in a way they don’t like. Just like Obama supporters have no right to complain that Trump is using the powers they have willingly to Obama when he was in office. It’s a very simple concept most people don’t get, and it’s why the government keeps growing more powerful and controlling no matter which party is in control.

Is there much long term safety data on Kratom?

I wouldn’t call a plant that binds to the same receptors as an opioid safer or that it helped some get off. They substituted a felony high for a legal alternative (very similar high).

I didn’t say safe, I said safer than buying street opioids from drug dealers. Or that’s what I meant to say, since doctors often won’t prescribe opioids indefinitely, but people who are hooked from their prescription will still need their fix, so will turn to the black market. Possession of opioids without a script is also a felony, no?

for one minute think about society with legal drugs of all kind.
 
You need one-off case studies to find any people who died from kratom, if they even did, by there are tens of thousands of deaths a year from opioids.

so...those addicts will then have legal access to all the opioids they ever hoped for....oh boy!!!
 
It’s absolutely a felony lol that’s what I was getting at. Substituting a high for a high doesn’t help in any regard. But, I’m NOT the one to say they cant use it... your body, do as you will but don’t entice anyone around you with semantics to try a “legal” drug

But they are illegal and some 2 trillion dollars have been spent on the war on drugs after 45 some years drug use is getting worse...illegally. Making them illegal just isnt working, why continue the status quo and put that money into health care rather than policies that dont work and empower gangs, criminals, CIA and even the Federal Government.

Nobody is going to do drugs because they are legal. If someone wants to do drugs its easier for a high school kid to get illegal cocaine or extasy than legal alcohol, at least from my youth in a small good area.

addictions come with a high price, to families and to society...not to mention the health issues they bring, trust me I have personal experience with this....
