Helping Girlfriend with Weight Loss

My GF is currently struggling with weight gain and it's becoming an issue for us.

I thinking about recommending FD 2.0 which worked for me to lean out a bit, but I was already lean. Also thinking about CLA. The main issue though is her eating habits/ lifestyle and attitude.

She eats like crap. Burgers, steaks, pizza with all the toppings and she drinks beer like a frat boy. Never met a girl that drank so much beer. I thought it was cute when I drank but I just went sober so In have a different perspective now.

She used to be able to get away with it because she ran marathons but then tore her meniscus. Since then she tries to go to the gym, but gets frustrated because she can't do many of the exercises and isn't making progress.

She asked me to help out and get her to eat healthy which I do, but then she hangs with her friends and eats **** and then lies to me about it.

She gets drunk then says I'm being annoying when I tell her not to get the meat lovers pizza. Since then I don't even bother because I don't want to be a pain in the ass.

She is starting to get a huge gut, double chins and takes a dumps like a truck driver. She has substantial gastrointestinal issues. I have to leave my apartment a few times to avoid hearing WW 2 in my bathroom. Attractive isn't it? ;(

She had blood work done and the doctor said she has to go strict vegan or go on meds. Its serious. Not just superficial.

So supplements are only 2% of the issue here. What should In do?

Geezzzz lol you have your hands full. If you’re trying accomplish any goal you have to be all in. She isn’t giving it her all and will not see results with it regardless of what supplements she takes. The most effective way to lose weight is just naturally by eating below your body’s maintenance calories (caloric deficit). First things first, figure out what her maintenance calories are by googling it and doing a little research. Next, food scale and track food intake daily. Next, weigh yourself every morning after going to the bathroom. Start with about 300 calories below what her maintenance is and track the weight for a week and average it out and subtract it from the starting weight. This will give you an idea if there needs to be any adjustments (.5-1lbs lost a week is ideal) I did that method and went from 204-185 in about 3 months while retaining a LARGE portion of strength (even going up on some lifts). This is the most basic and effective way to lose weight in a safe and effective manor. You have to devote yourself and strive to reach your goals. Like I said if she’s not serious about it there’s no point in trying....
 
Typically, guys who talk about their woman’s weight die earlier than those who don’t.

Agree with this, but I thought that a good fat burner with a stim would suppress her appetite and give her a head start.

If the appetite is suppressed, she can start making adjustments to her lifestyle and then use those to build a baseline. Any suggestions for a fat burner with a good stim effect for her? Chaos and pain make some good ones right?

High caffeine will suppress hunger, I’ve tried the Steel Shredded-AF and loved it
 
I was obese. Supplements are not going to do it. She has to want to do it and in her own time unfortunately. Sounds like your not happy - I would focus on you and forget about helping her and let her help herself.
 
I feel ya bro. Got the same problem with my girl. We both went to diet/exercise. I think she lost 5 lbs that she kept off. Im at 30 lbs so far. I know Im going to get better results as a former athlete. But the lack of effort is concerning.

Well - lots to try to figure out over the internet here.

What do you do for working out? What is your diet like? What is your height/weight?

How old are the two of you? What else is going on in your life? Do you two enjoy work? How long have you been together?

It's hard to give advice on a situation without digging in and poking a little, sorry. Getting someone else to change is nearly impossible unless they want to change...
 
I have found out over the years,when it comes to getting a person to do something Positive for themselves. It Starts with Self Motivation,and Motivation from their love ones.
 
Have you tried calling her a fat POS and running away? trust me on this... she will chase you even with a dodgy knee, do this 5-10 times a day and she'll be back stronger than ever... you on the other hand
 
Never thought I would laugh at this but I did. Shes 38, works in finance and loves ...to...eat. um she likes to walk, about 1 mile is "enough".

Also I got to see her fit herself in a mesh contraption that is supposed to make her "look" thinner, forgot the name. Can't believe I'm saying this but The Penguin from Burtons Batman. Phew, good to vent.

It is probably the reason I leave though. No ****. Gonna try for a little longer but patience is the one thing that's thin here.
 
If You leave her she’s going to lose all of that weight for a comeback.So she can get back into the dating game.
 
I've had a few ex's that went through weight issues while we were together, me intervening never ended well...even when they "wanted" help.

If she's a stress eater/drinker, there are supplements that can help with that...Invictus works well for that and can help get rid of the stress eating/drinking. Will also help reduce some of the inflammation.

You can try an ECA stack to see if that kills her appetite.

Exercise that's a torch to calories and also takes tension off the joints...swimming! if you can, get her to try swimming. Full body, no strain on joints/back, core intensive, and swimming burns a ton of calories. I love getting out of the pool with a full body pump from doing laps.

Cissus: not sure if this helps with meniscus, but you may want to look into it. it's done wonders for my tendon and ligament issues.

if she's out drinking and eating with friends often, there's little she can do without a true desire to change...because that will not just require a change in diet, but a change in social habits. when I was on a mission to lose a bit of weight, I had to pull away from all the social environments that were associated with poor eating habits and surround myself with people who were focused on the same type of lifestyle I was assimilating to.

As a partner, some of the things that I recommend you try (I'm actually betting you've tried already):
1) try cooking meals together at home
2) plan some activities together that are safe for her knee, but will get you both active.
3) if she's going out with friends, try to get her to eat a healthy meal before she goes...this can mitigate some of the binge eating.
4) not that I advocate excessive drinking, but there are more caloric friendly drinks she can consider...When I go out I try to stick to vodka soda and lime. or I enjoy a sip worthy whisky, tequila or scotch (tequila is actually my go to). Reminder, these are for sipping, not for shots. Luckily for me, I'm allergic to beer and never developed an affinity for it.

Sorry this is a bit of a random ramble of thoughts.
 
You could just force yourself to watch BBW porn everyday, maybe one day you will grow to love that **** then you wont need/want her to change... I did that to help lower my standards, it.... helped.
 
I only skimmed through this but there seems to be one factor missing. Does she want to lose weight or do you want her to lose weight. If it's the latter then there is nothing you can really do. If she gets upset with herself then that's different.

My wife has lost almost 30lbs this year and has used some supplements to help but as they say you can't out supplement (or out exercise) a **** diet.

What worked for my wife though was a fatburner first thing, drinking bcaas throughout the day (prosupps hydrobcaa was the favourite especially miami vice or dragon fruit they are very sweet tasting and help curb cravings) and then still eating the same foods but less per portion. Order the pizza but make it last 3 days. When at McDonald's or burger King order the kids cheeseburger meal instead of the quarter pounder or whopper. Eat slowly. Usually if you eat and wait 20 minutes you realise your not hungry anymore but in that 20 minute window you could probably eat 2 to 3 times as much before that feeling kicks in.

She's got to want it though.

best question of the thread above ^ "does SHE want to lose fat"? without that, you both are doomed. at least a gf is cheaper to get rid of, than wife :-)

Bcaas can be expensive compared to just sipping on flavoured water etc but for some reason they seem to help curb appetite more than just water or other forms of juice. It's not for any scientific reason and you can half scoop it and still seem to get the same effect to make it last longer. Pepsi max with meals also helps with sweet tooth cravings.

She’s a lightweight now and always has abs at comp, but she’s a fat kid at heart (like me) and you better believe when all the comps are done I believe she’ll lose the motivation to stay lean, get comfy, and get back on the biscuits and gravy train. Fortunately for me, I have seen the old pics and she was still very cute fat - plus some sweet F cups, so I got that to look forward to.

People will be who they really wanna be - if she doesn’t really feel the need to change, she won’t. Not until you dump her, but at that point it’s over anyway. Plenty of fish in the sea, my friend.

She got me to quite drinking and with the help of Kratom I did go clean, 3 months now..finally got abs and clean eating made me gain lean muscle.

It's more of a general concern about her willingness to modify behavior if it's not healthy.

Something I believe in life...more people should worry more about what they do and less about what others do.

I often find it is easy to find issues with other people's actions. It is often difficult to see and accept issues with my own actions. Sometimes seeing my flaws is the hard part, sometimes changing my flaws after I see them is the hard part. Often it is easier to avoid dealing with my own issues by thinking about all of the stupid things other people do that I would do better.

I don't know where I am going with this. I will brb. Gonna grab a donut.

They can lose weight after being married. Depends on how much they care, and how much you as a person motivate them.

Yeah look I have ONCE, I literally had to focus on breathing rather than enjoying the moment because I was drunk and she was also semi crushing my internal organs each slam hahaha. Ever since then I do the work on the heavier behemoths
