Possible Abscess?

AntM1564

Legend
Did an injection on Thursday and a little concerned it went wrong. Last cycle, something similar like this happened to my right shoulder, but it was a little more swollen. On that particular injection, I had blood squirt out, not drip, squirt, and the swelling went away after a week.

This is my left shoulder. A little swollen, a little red, does not feel hotter than my right shoulder, but it is summer so I'm hot regardless. I wanted to give several different looks at it. I did have some blood drip out, so maybe it is just inflammed? Also, I used a 1 in needle and buried it, so maybe I went too deep. Thoughts, opinions?

I also attached one photo of my right side.

When did the blood drip out?

Also..how long after injection did the blood squirt out, last time?

Could be inflamed but youre quite white here so any red will be more noticible. I have swollen areas sometimes but it goes away.. Is this a common injection spot for you?

Definitely not an abscess, an abscess is pretty much a huge pimple. I’ve had one, you do not, fortunately for you. I had the exact same thing happen with me that’s occuring to you right now. Injected my shoulder and was hard and sensitive for about a week, honestly don’t know what happened but don’t be concerned it’ll fade in a week. The squirting of blood has happened to me several times just means you hit a vein directly, this also isn’t anything to be concerned about, it’ll happen again in the future if you continue to use. My thoughts is that I injected it too fast, and was using a short ester (test prop) which always gives more pip. Looking back on it did you inject it quickly?

I usually have a little blood drip out when I inject shoulders, sometimes chest. I have no blood drip on quads or glutes. When I say drip, just think of a drop of blood running down the skin.

When I had the squirter last cycle, I do not know how long. I freaked out though. I removed the needle and the blood projected out. Think of one of those sport bottles for water and pressing it as hard as possible. I grabbed my swap and held it for minutes.

Yes, it is a common site. I rotate between delts, chest, quads and glutes. But when I say common, I only hit delts once every 4 weeks. So maybe not all that common.

No squirt this time.

I think it is inflammed like you stated. I have full range of motion, there is no head (like a pimple), and I can lay on it.

Since I am running 1.5cc per injection, I split the injection. Last time I injected 1.5cc into my shoulders and chest, I had a little oil come back out. Not a lot. But I shot the .5cc of test in the shoulder and the 1cc of deca in the chest. Since it was just .5cc, I could have pushed the plunger down quickly. I will be more conscious next time of the speed.

Redness is still there, it looks a little lower. Also looks like I have a small pocket/ball centralized on the medial delt. A little warmer than the other delt, no fever and no pain. I am going to go to the walk in tomorrow to have it looked at. I'll keep you all updated.

I dunno don't look bad to me I had a bad injection on my quad once went for 11 days had a leg workout and it swill up like jelly I went to the ER and got some antibiotics it...

I'd just rather be safe than sorry. The last thing I need is an infection with the school year starting up soon. Also, I have to take medication to suppress my immune system. So I want to nip it in the butt.

Your good to go. I had a squirter before and i damn near fainted *i almost do any time i have a decent amount of blood from pinning*. Ive also gotten an abcess before as well after following very good protocol *alcohol swab everything*.

If you do get one make sure you get some amoxicillin ASAP to avoid getting it drained.

I ended up not going today, and I don't think I will later. Redness is pretty much non existent. I do have that small "lump" under the medial delt, but it feels smaller. I will monitor it and depending on how it looks, I may go tomorrow.

I just don't want to sit at the doctor's for two hours to be told it is nothing. I have to get an echocardiogram tomorrow. Does anyone know if that machine would pick up a possible abscess? I could as the tech to look over it.

A slin pin will make those delt pokes a lot easier.....

Idk why people use big needles. Honestly i look forward to my slin pin injections but the 25g gluteal ones i fear

Well for one reason is you want to inject deep into the muscle, second many people aren’t low enough body fat so it’ll end up in fat, 3rd reason you can’t fit more than a half cc or cc of oil into them, it takes forever to inject with such a small needle and the list goes on.

What is wrong with injecting into fat? Either way its going into your bloodstream...

It doesn’t absorb quickly, usually become very irritated for multiple day, becomes red and sensitive at the spot of injection. There’s a reason why doctors and nurses use a inch long needle, injecting it deep into the muscle and recommend for patients on trt to do the same.

You should be fine. The squirting is from either piercing or nicking a vein or artery. I did this many times when I had to inject B vits years ago. Used to get a squit as I pulled needle out every time. After a while I got better at it.

Every time? damn you had just had bad luck, not that it really matters. Where were you pinning? Out of my hundreds of times pinning I’ve gotten squirters less than half a dozen times
