Drawing from two different vials

What is the preferred method you use when drawing from two different vials. I read a few ways yesterday, but had my first experience today. I was wondering if there was a "better" method than the way I did it today.

1. Clean the top of the vials and get syringe.
2. Draw air into vial one, remove needle, draw air into vial two.
3. Draw oil out of vial two.
4. Draw oil out of vial one.
5. Remove drawing needle and attach insert needle.
6. Clean site, inject.

My only concern is the first compound that is drawn. After I got the amount needed, I pulled back a little more on the plunger so the oil from the first vial was not in the attachment portion of the needle. So, I had some air in the syringe. Then, when I inserted the needle into the second vial, I pushed down on the plunger a little to get the plunger back to where it should have been. For example, I too out .5 ml from the first vial, the pulled back to .75 ml or so, inserted the needle into the second vial, pushed down on the plunger to get back to .5ml, and then took out 1 ml of of second compound. My only fear of doing this is pushing down a little too much to remove the air and then I mix a little of the first compound with the second.

Stop caring about air. Both in your vial and in your syringe. Every 6 injections or so, get a fresh syringe and pump 3ccs in every vial. I don’t even do that anymore. I just draw and move to the next and draw etc etc. This sounds like a stressful situation that matters not at all...

I wouldnt get too obsessive with the air quantity, as long as you get "an amount" into the vial to make drawing easier and accurate. But, sounds like you doing pretty much that anyway.

If Im following your main concern...just make sure your drawing needle is as clear as possible of the first lot of oil. This is easiest if youre not loading up a syringe from the get go; so draw the smallest quantity first.

When you have that first lot drawn, pull it pretty much as far back as you can down the barrel, this will ensure 99% of that load has cleared the drawing needle. I actually "move" the oil up and down the barrel a few times with the plunger (not the whole way, just a few points or so). That needle is fukn empty by this point.

Keeping the syringe with needle pointing up, empty the barrel air (ie inject it) into your next vial and draw that one. Contamination should be minimal (about as good as you can get using only one kit).

Sounds a bit convoluted, but the process takes literally seconds. A little bit of contamination (oil-vial mixing) isnt "bad", but if I can minimise it by a simple action Ill do it.

How about buying empty sterile vials and then put both oils in it for more than one pin? I thought about doing this for my winter cycle test/1-test or test/eq...

Meh, you're doing it fine IMO. I wouldn't worry much about mixing a drop or two

You would be appalled at the way I do it LOL

That’s exactly what I’m saying. I drew from 3 yesterday in just seconds time and just pushed it with 1/2cc of air probably still in it. Only thing I’m actually religious about is swabbing tops and sites. That’s it.
