TRT Question

I tend to be super nervous, and have some majorly clouded thinking. my T came in at 400 ng/dl, Do you think TRT would clear up that nervousness/fog?

If this isnt the right place to post this, let me know and ill post in the correct area

Absolutely yes on the fog but maybe on the anxiety. Usually anxiety is increased due to higher estradiol levels.

When I started TRT I had brain fog so bad I thought I had early onset Alzheimer’s. Since being in TRT my mind is clear and focused

Before you started TRT, what was you T/Free T? of you dont mind giving that info.

Also the fog is so bad i have trouble understanding people when they ate talking to me sometimes. Like it takes me a good minute to really process what people are saying. Can anybody relate to this?

400 is on the low end of what is considered normal range. Do you know what your free t is? Also, how old are you?

I am not sure what my free T is, my doctor is giving me a consult to an endo so ill probably ask them to test it then. Im 29 years young.

I am in a similar boat, but a little older. I am 40 and have a total t level of about 400 too, but my free t is below normal so I have been referred to my Endo. If my Endo doesn’t agree to put me on trt I already have a backup dr in place That said my readings and symptoms would make me a potential candidate. I am still researching in the early stages just as it sounds like you are. Good luck!

google "Hypogonadal symptoms in young men are associated with a serum total testosterone threshold of 400 ng/dL.". its a study published in the journal of sexual medicine (i believe). its on ncbi, maybe it will help you out, maybe not. but it does help establish that different people respond differently to different T thresholds.

No I know 400 is low for a younger man like you. On the standard scale though it is considered on the low end of normal. The problem with the standard scale is it doesn’t take into account age. 400 is typically what an elderly man would have as a reading. Problem is many drs will just conclude to the patient that they are in normal range regardless of the fact the patient is young. I am skeptical my Endo will even agree to put me on trt so I have a back up dr and clinic in place if needed. You should inquire with Mark the engineer who replied to you on this thread about entourage medical. They are the best if you are on a budget as long as you don’t mind injecting yourself. They give a lot of test for the money as well as all the additional supporting meds you could ever need.

Thanks! i'm considering it. i have VA medical and im service connected so everything i get through them is free. id like to go that route if i can.

Might want to consider other factors as well. Like inflammation in the body

Does this sound like something other than a testosterone issue to you? i Got pretty comprehensive bloodwork done, minus hormones (except ultra tsh +test) everything is normal. Do you have any particular ideas in mind in addition to inflammation?

How much do you sleep at night? How much water do you drink? Do you drink a lot of alcohol? History of family depression? Could be low T, could be a lot of other stuff too.

sleep is generally not fantastic, but a lack of sleep isnt the issue because it doesnt matter if i get 10+ hours i still feel foggy. dehydration isnt the issue, it doesnt matter how much water i drink i still feel the same. no alcohol, no drugs, no tobacco. Not sure on the family depression.

Keep a food log. Monitor how you feel after eating whatever foods. Monitor everything throughout the day till you find a pattern.. could be an estrogen issue..
