Donald Trump running for president

even IF any of this is true, your theory confirms Kelly as a yes man because then he came on simply to do the job that Trump didn't have the balls to do. He's doing his dirty work like a well-trained dog. Also, twice over Trump is a ***** that couldn't just fire people and instead has to play games with tax payer money. Oh yeah, great leader there!

How about this theory, he is in over his head, has absolutely no strategy, and is making it up as he goes along poorly. He can't even put a decent team together.

what is your problem with generals?

actually I think he is doing well considering what he is up against...of course he plays games, no one can say they have achieved the kind of success he has without playing games-no one!!!

life is in reality a game!!!

He's not up against anything. The Republicans are in power. He has no excuses and continues to show extremely poor leadership. His team is unstable and continually fighting each other, with him never wanting to get involved and actually lead. These are not insults; these are facts.

Generals in general? No problem at all. I just don't understand how your example of Trump telling Kelly to do something and him doing it proves that he's not a yes man? Your example sounds like a very yes man thing to do,

I think there are people inside the republican party who are colluding with democrats/media against him.

all I can say is the 2018 primaries should be very entertaining...

If Dump is really an "outsider" the establishment Republicans certainly wouldnt be on his side and it doesnt appear to be that way unless they are all just playing mind tricks, I dunno...I say screw them all anyways lol

yes, it does...but remember it is just a theory-I have been wrong before, lol.

but...you were attacking Kelly before that post....I thought he was doing a great job as head of homeland security.

did you know that general Kelly's son was killed in Afghanistan?

Personally I believe John McCain is the head of the Democratic party.

Yes, I did. Landmine. That doesn't automatically make his dad a better person or leader though. My hope is that he'll at least bring some discipline to the office, but if I had to guess, I'll give him 6 months tops before he leaves or is pushed out.

When and where was he killed I was there in '09. Thats what ended my career

no, the fact that his son was killed doesn't make him a better person, but I have a lot of respect for the way he dealt with it....from all I have heard general Kelly is a very honorable man.

you would have to google it for more details I only learned about it today.

and respect to you for your sacrifice!!!
Thank you I will. Roadside bombs and me didnt agree. They gave me some bad heartburn, LOL, after 49 and they said I had to retire

you did your duty---above and beyond.

I've actually had a pretty good experience for the most part with the VA, I hope they are treating you well!!!

They have too, I work for them now. When I retired, I went to school got my Master's degree and got a job working at the VA because I didnt like the way I was being treated as a patient when I first got there and wanted to make it better.

fantastic!!!

Luckily you don't have to choose, at least for now. A simple Google search proves that females have not met the standard at Ranger School, the Marine Infantry Officer's Course, and so on. Women should serve in the military, as they do in countries like Israel. But they have to EARN that spot in the Infantry or Ranger School. If you can't perform, either improve or move the **** along.

the thing that worries me is that standards will be lowered so that more women CAN meet the standard.

I saw that the commandant of coast guard is refusing to obey the tranny law...hmmm

Well, to an extent, its already happened. I mean, why do men and women have different PT standards?? Such a ****ing joke.

it is amazing how much the military has changed since I served in late 70's-mid 80's.

Dude, you can't even imagine. Now they even get "time out" at Basic if they melt down. WTF??? Do we get a time out on some ****ty hill in Afghanistan when the going gets rough? No!

I knew things would change once they started putting women on ships and in infantry, i just underestimated how much...back then declaring being gay would get you a section 8 or would have prevented enlistment in the 1st place....

at the risk of being called a sexist homophobe things were a whole lot less complicated back then.

You should be able to say that "things were a whole lot less complicated back then" without judgement because they were! I was just doing some contractor work at a installation a few weeks ago and there was a big "to do" about making sure the females had their own barracks, even though there were only a dozen women. Imagine that, a whole barracks for 12 women.

if you think things are bad now just imagine if Hillary were president...

I literally than GOD every day for trump winning the election!!!

I never thought things couldn't get any worse when Obama was re-elected. And then came along Hillary!

I am of the opinion that this country as we know it could not have survived a Hillary presidency...every time I hear criticism of trump I think of the alternative-Hillary would have been a disaster.

So like when Trump proposes to cut unemploymeny benefits for disabled vets, you just think that Hillary would have made bigger cuts so everything is cool?

Well, she let a couple of vets die in Benghazi, so....

Yes, she did and she lost the election. Trump is the president and I'm curious how veterans view moves like those cuts. This is something I've noticed about many Trump supporters. They can't seem to point to any positive things to say about Trump, so they fall back on Obama and Hillary jabs. Seriously though, what's your take on those cuts? He's proposing increases in some areas, but that it a cut that seems to have angered a lot of veterans that I've spoken with.

Sadly, they will still support him no matter what he does. At least that has been my experience.

Just as dems support dems. Don't make it out like republicans are the only ones that stick to their guns (pun intended) and their party.

They do. I think a lot of people voted for Obama because they were tired of Bush just like I think a lot of people voted for Trump because they were tired of Obama or he simply wasn't Hillary. I also think a lot of Obama supporters will make excuses for his actions and that won't change. I am really curious to know your opinion on this veterans issue though, especially since this thread recently went in a more military direction.

Did I say that?

I'm not a Dem either. I consider myself Independent.

Trump is making some ludicrous mistakes though, IMO. Far worse than any President in recent memory. And he's only been in office for 7 months.

I hope you enjoy being deployed again for pointless wars, because I'm sure there will be another before it's all said and done. From the way you talk, you are military. Am I right?

I will have to research that....

vets are very big trump supporters he would be stupid to do anything to hurt them....If he did propose it i bet it never happens!!!

its a multi-step problem. DJT is his own worst enemy. He is of the belief that any press is good press, and that is not the attitude of the office of the president. The flip side is that even when good things are done (a new justice) he doesn't get good press.

thank you for posting those links I was unaware...trump better get his shyt together, some of his strongest supporters are vets---I understand that the choice program is a wonderful thing, but stealing from another veteran program to pay for it is not going to fly...hopefully the outcry is loud enough and trump comes to his senses!!!

I don't know why there is no mention of this on the news?

What's the difference in benefits between social security and the 100% disability?

According to this, the proposal is to cut the disability when the vet becomes eligible for social security.

"Veterans eligible now for IU have a 60-100 percent disability rating but are all paid at the 100 percent rate because a service-connected disability makes them unable to work. The budget proposal would cut off IU payments once the veteran reaches the minimum age for Social Security."

It just seems to be replacing one benefit payment to a different one. Not a disabled vet, so I just don't know the difference between the two benefits.

I could be wrong, but I believe the issue is that Social Security is based in what you've paid into it over the years until you reach 65. That means if a 25 year old is injured so that he can't work, then he's not paying anything into that pot. Veterans disability would continue paying him the same amount as the next guy, but when he switches over to Social Security now he's going to get a way smaller check.

my father in law was a double amputee due to frostbite he got while in korea.....he was 83 when he passed and was receiving both social security plus disability---rest in peace art!!!

this is going off topic and is not aimed at vets, I make exception for guys wounded in service to our nation...but I know many people on disability collecting more than elderly on social security, I think this is wrong.

There is always going to be people that find a way to exploit the system (not talking about your father in law because some people do qualify for both at the same time). I think we all need to work together to help minimize that as much as possible, but it's certainly not a reason to completely do away with programs. People get caught all the time working manual labor jobs on disability.

it's what I call the ten percenter rule.....

I think 10% is low. Honestly now a days people are bastards. We always have been but I think it's getting worse. At least in the US. but it goes in cycles then we have a big devasting event that unites us again.

Completely agree. The percentage is way higher, but it's always hard to tell if it really is getting worse or we just see more of it because of news coverage and the internet.

Social security would be alot less than what we recieve now, and no we dont all get 100% because it stops us from working. I am 80% and still have to go to work everyday to support my family. His cuts are stupid. Guys that are 60-100% are 90% of the time Combat related injury vets while most under 60% where peace time vets. So his plan is to cut off the guys benefits that went to war for this country to save money while still paying the guys who stubbed their ******* toe on the way to the latrine.

I will support him because he is my commander and cheif and even though I am retired now, I still took an Oath to protect and serve my country and President, and no one has relieved me of this duty yet.

But, I dont agree with some of his stupid policies and agenda's, that will hurt alot of us in the long run.

I just checked my notebook, I have my numbers at around 127-128 million who did something last year I strongly oppose, out of population of 323 million so I'd say about 40% of USA population are bastards.

10% of people are bastards?

10% of people ruin things for the rest of us...this is why I supported 3 strikes and your out. after you commit the 3rd serious[felony]crime, you become a career felon with little chance of rehabilitation, and the chance of rehabilitation is not worth the risk that person presents to society as a whole.

I hope 'nasty' women are included!!!

I am close to eliminating the word lady from my vocabulary.

I have to DVR it will watch in the morning. At the Mets game in the city right now, will be back home late. 3 home runs in the first inning, we are actually beating the dodgers! I'm a Yankees fan by heart though.

Lomenchenko is just amazing!
