Donald Trump running for president

And he is probably going to sign it after looking at the cover page just so he has another big accomplishment in the books.

If the Senate votes on the bill and it passes they better have the whole bill page by page posted in public before it gets onto Dump's desk.
The more I think about the whole healthcare debacle, the more I'm inclined to side with you.

I'm not completely sold on no health insurance at all, but I do think that the insurance companies have led to bloated costs in healthcare.

The same could be said for higher education tuition, I suppose.

I have no idea what the answer is, I just want what is best for people who are sick through no fault of their own.

There is alot of insurance and pharmaceutical filth buying out our politicians since the very beginning of managed care in the 70s with Nixon and his compadres (I believe Moore covered the Nixon part in Sicko.)

I just hope this goes out publicly and gives the public a chance to voice it out and that its also not a 15,000 pages of clusterfuk and laws that have nothing to do with medicare.

If I was to support socialist policies Id be more supportive of simply just giving guaranteed health care for people in need rather than having those slimy nasty cockroaches in the insurance industry making a single penny off this process. There is absolutely no reason for them to steal our tax dollars (insurances, not the patients or direct doctors to be clear.)

before Obamacare poor, sick people went to the emergency room and were treated, the government usually picked up all or most of the cost.

premiums and deductibles were far lower for those of us with insurance before Obamacare. the odd thing about it is that poor people who get government subsidized healthcare are getting better healthcare than a working man buying his own insurance with a $6,000 deductible...

don't forget each and every refugee we let into this country costs taxpayers $64,000 per year, including full coverage insurance---and many of them come with pre-existing illnesses.

now for higher education....it has been forced on the American people just the same as Obamacare!!!

at least 50% of people attending college today probably would have not qualified for college 40 years ago, the worth of a college degree has been watered down. there are 5,000,000 American jobs that aren't filled because these so called college graduates aren't qualified...so a person spends 4 years in college and then gets some bullsh1t degree and ends up sacking groceries at a supermarket.

on the job training and trade schools are where these people need to be, learning a skill.....corporations need to man-up and start doing their own training for job specific skills, this is how it used to be done---you would start at entry level, then when someone above you moves up you move into that persons position--you have up to 90 days to be trained in the new positon, if you don't pass the qualification test you are outta there. in 3-5 years you could progress into a well paying career----much better than 4 years of expensive college education and end up as a grocery sacker with no viable skills.

My dad used to preach that to me all the time. He was laid off when he was in his 50s, and now works in retirement on the side.

I bet a ton of guys with college degrees were laid off around 2008 also...that timeframe was bad for everyone.

I agree with this. On the job learning needs to take precedence, as some companies require you have a degree to even consider hiring you.

On the other side if the coin, uni worked wonders for me and my ability to get my life on track. During high school I wasn't the best pupil and truly messed up my learning at that time. I went to uni and am now doing pretty well for myself. Uni taught me how to learn and apply myself more than I learnt about the course I was studying. That to me is a success. Also some companies don't require a degree, but you need to demonstrate understanding before heading in.

Higher education has its place, but companies should also consider those who learn better on the job.

Be mindful though that some careers (I.e. programming and engineering) are best learned through an institution has you don't know what you don't know. People wouldn't even know how to run a language like Node JS or Python from their PC/ Mac or even how to start coding without some form of higher learning.

I am self taught in some languages, but even I've needed to watch online lectures to understand the 'whys'.

70% [at least] of jobs could be learned either by trade schools or on the job training, I learned to run a multi-million dollar machine that utilized robotics by working my way up thru on the job training....

corporations used to give extensive aptitude tests to see if you had potential for advancement, if you did then you started at the lowest level and when the next level position became available you were put with the person you were replacing until you were qualified to do that job, then the person you replaced goes thru the same process. you were also given manuals that you were required to study.

no doubt you benefitted from university...but the thinking that everyone NEEDS to be college educated to function in todays society is very false, imo.

I 100% agree. I wish more companies took this approach!

it used to be common practice...until America got sold a pig in a poke with the idea that everyone NEEDS to go to college....

because he's a whore just like the president and his mail order whore.

Freedom of speech I get but statements such as these just reflect poorly on the persons character who says them. Can you imagine if someone was saying things like this about you, your wife, mom, friend?

People who compromise themselves for money are whores. All three of the people I was referring to have repeatedly shown that they are willing to compromise and makes fools of themselves for money. Which part of my statement isn't true?

if you remember I am on record as not being a fan of jared Kushner and his family of elitist, liberal, democrats.

on the other hand I have not seen anything I can criticize melania for since becoming 1st lady, actually I think she has gone out of her way to stay out of the spotlight, it is my opinion she doesn't care much for politics and probably would have preferred if trump were not president.

I agree she wants nothing to do withi this and would only criticize her for costing tax payers A LOT of extra money by maintaining a separate residences.

we can agree that her staying in new York is costing extra cash, but then again I don't blame her...if I remember correctly the Washington press went after her 10 year old son---I would want to keep my son out of that environment also...even though trump is not the 1st president to have a young child when elected, no other president I can think of has had even his family attacked the way the trumps' have been attacked--how do you think michelle Obama would have reacted if her daughters were attacked the way baron trump was?

I recall Rosie O'Donnell making a stupid comment, but she hardly qualifies as Washington press. Any other examples?

I don't do links...'google baron trump attacked by press'---it got so ugly that even Chelsea Clinton told them to knock it off...everything from a murderer to a rapist to killing cats to jacking off in every bathroom in the white house...granted most of it came from 'social media', but the media reported it but said little to NOTHING about how disgusting it was to be attacking a 10 year old.

did you know that one of Obama's daughter's got caught for underage drinking---I bet not, it didn't get reported-imagine that, lol.

I only see comedians, SNL, and tweets for all of it.

Why do you assume I don't see the same news you do lol. Of course I know Malia Obama got "caught" drinking. She also got caught smoking something suspicious at a concert a while ago. I know both of those things because the media covered it. The same way they covered the Bush girls. I get where you're coming from, but think we need to define what the "media" really is because it has changed over the years. It's hard to compare coverage of Presidents' children when technology has changed so much. Any moron with a twitter account can call themself a journalist and those kinds of things simply didn't exist in the past.

I try not to assume anything, I knew about the bush girls but didn't know about the Obama daughter....

I also understand that social media can't be judged by the same standard as the mainstream media, but when the mainstream reports on what is happening on social media it lends legitimacy to it for many people who only spend an hour [or less] daily on keeping up on current events.

I seriously don't blame the trump's for trying to keep their son out of the anti-trump Washington circus.

President Trump is about to embark on his first foreign trip, where he will stop in Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the Vatican, before attending a NATO meeting in Brussels and the G-7 summit in Sicily. The media and pundits have loudly wondered why hasn’t he gone on a foreign trip sooner. I wonder why go at all?

What does the president hope to achieve with these meetings? This is a president who came into office with promises that we would finally start to mind our own business overseas. In December, he said that the policy of US “intervention and chaos” overseas must come to an end. Instead, he is jumping into a region – the Middle East – that has consumed the presidencies of numerous of his predecessors.

On Saudi Arabia, President Trump has shifted his position from criticism of the Saudi regime to a seemingly warm friendship with Saudi deputy crown prince Mohammad bin Salman. He has approved weapons sales to Saudi Arabia that President Obama had halted due to Saudi human rights abuses, particularly in its horrific war on Yemen.

While visiting Saudi Arabia, one of the most extreme theocracies on earth – where conversion to Christianity can bring the death penalty – President Trump will attend a meeting of Muslim leaders to discuss the threats of terrorism and religious extremism. No, not in Saudi Arabia, but in Iran, where Christianity is legal and thriving!

Perhaps President Trump’s flip-flop on Saudi Arabia was inspired by the ten separate Washington, D.C. public relations firms the Kingdom keeps on the payroll, at a cost of $1.3 million per month. That kind of money can really grease the policy wheels in Washington.

From there, the US President will travel to Israel. Does he believe he will finally be able to solve the 70 year old Israel-Palestine conflict by negotiating a good deal? If so, he’s in for a surprise.

The problem persists partly because we have been meddling in the region for so long. Doing more of the same is pretty unlikely to bring about a different result. How many billions have we spent propping up “allies” and bribing others, and we’re no closer to peace now than when we started. Maybe it’s time for a new approach. Maybe it’s time for the countries in the Middle East to solve their own problems. They have much more incentive to reach some kind of deal in their own neighborhood.

Likewise his attendance at the NATO meeting is not very encouraging to those of us who were pleased to hear candidate Trump speak the truth about the outdated military alliance. We don’t need to strong-arm NATO members to spend more money on their own defense. We need to worry about our own defense. Our military empire – of which NATO is an arm – makes us weaker and more vulnerable. Minding our own business and rejecting militarism would make us safer.

Many pundits complain that President Trump spends too much time golfing. I would rather he spend a lot more time golfing and less time trying to solve the rest of the world’s problems. We cannot afford to be the policeman or nursemaid to the rest of the world, particularly when we have such a lousy record of success.

as long as trump stems the flow of illegal immigration, limits the amount of refugees and lowers my taxes I will be a happy camper.

lol.....the present crop of Kennedy's are left of chris Matthews!!! at least 12 of the last 17 have been lefties!!!

one is a former republican who was nominated for defending climate change...the other nominee this year was the former acting attorney general who was nominated for 'standing up against trump'.

btw-how can undocumented illegals pay taxes, this sounds like a misnomer to me!!!

so they are not undocumented, just using fake documents?

employer's should be responsible for making sure that employees are citizens....seriously!!!
Yes they are using fake documents. The point of the article is that they are paying taxes, and will never get credit for it (ie Social Security).
