6 Week Fat Loss Challenge

weight loss is going good. down to 173. got up to 178 last week so its progress. finally sucked it up and started adding vegetables and salads to make up some of my calorie consumption. was eating too much cereal, peanut butter and other crap lol. going out to dinner tonight and probably will split something with my girlfriend instead of eating a full meal.

185 x 12 (not bad, 5 pounds down from last week in body weight, 5 pounds heavier on the bar and only 2 reps less)

Lmao. Well that escalated quickly. Ate a full meal and 2 big cupcakes. Screw it, I have OHP and weighted chins tomorrow so the extra calories will be put to good use :)
 
OK guys I got a question. old power lifter (these days were done 10 years ago) now just bodybuilding.
I'm looking at losing some fat on my lower stomach, lower back and my milk titties. (I'm a puss dont like to cut, I have always lost too much muscle in the past)
Been on a 2850 calorie (Maintenance) diet with around 210 -220g protein. lost 7lb in 3 months and gained muscle. (I'm too old to be counting every F'in macro.) still got too much fat on my lower abs, lower back, and old man milk titties.

What do you think of adding:
Invictus and putting Supernova on my fat stomach and lower back. Would this help? or i'm I dreaming?
Note: used Invictus before and it did help drop some fat. (just not that much on my ab's)

How about you suck it up and diet. You can do it. If you are at 2800 calories for maintenance, you have some room to play. High protein should protect against muscle loss. You can also do a cyclical diet...Different caloric intakes different days of the week.

Supernova is awesome. Abliderate is working well for me too. Not sure which I like better.

Brother! You are working so hard...Stop making excuses. What you just did will cut into your weight loss!

Having said that, 5 pounds down in a week is awesome. We all fall off the wagon...Just gotta move forward.

Now I want cupcakes! Lol
 
Still see some good work in here guys!! Im still not taking a nude for a couple more weeks, but hoping when I do my work will be ridiculously evident. I do want to let you know I hit a PR today and got 335x1 on bench press today and Im stupid stoked about it!!!

I knew you were going to say that soon as I hit post. Lol. I hate diets. I'm old and going to die soon. I want to live a little, but still want to hit the iron before my days are numbered.

I was 199.8 on the scale tonight. How about that bit ches! Last time I was under 200 was my Jr year in college.

DB Laterals, Tricep Pushdowns, Face Pulls, Pushups, Wide Grip Cable Rows between pull ups. Didn't really count reps but probably 3-5 sets of each for 8-12 reps.

Yeah. Well. You ain't that old. Here is what I see in my life. I have a grandmother who is 90 years old. She hasn't been able to stand from a chair on her own for 3 years. Someone has to watch her 24 hours a day. She has no privacy. Someone has to go to the bathroom with her and help her wipe her own ass. She eats muffins and chocolate and is lucky to get 40 g of protein in her diet and needs opiates to deal with the pain. Mentally though...She's holding up pretty well. She just never worked her body, so she gets to spend 5-10 years of her life confined to a chair and maybe worse, a bed one day.

I look at my 350 pound father in his 60s with bad knees hobbling around...Worse of at 67 than she was at that age...On an even worse path than she was.

And when I think about it, I love it when people say, I want to live and so I am just gonna eat that pizza or whatever. Is eating that pizza REALLY living? Is that really life? It isn't going to kill you. You will live a long life...Immobilized.

To me, living life means having the ability to move. I SKIP the pizza because I want to enjoy life.

Not saying I don't enjoy pizza, and I have as many difficulties as anyone with this. I gained 25 pounds in less than 2 months for god sake. It's a battle, a fight. But I hope you get where ai am coming from and decide to jump in the battle with the rest of us. Life IS movement. Life IS strength.

I never want to get to this point I would rather die in my 70s! When I can't FULLY function on my own is when I want it to end! Mentally I couldn't take what she HAS to do.

That is just it. Go to YouTube. There are videos of 90 year olds doing 10-20 pull ups. It IS possible. It is a fight, but many don't even try to wage a battle against it.

My fuk thats such a great qoute and SOOOOOOO damn true!!!!! That's what got me through the darkest times in my life when it would have been easier to call it quits.

Sounds like you have lost battles in the past...But you didn't accept that they were over.

I think the thing is, we all say things like if it got that bad I would want it over - that's easy to say when we haven't lost anything yet - but after we have lost something, we often find something else we don't want to give up. Like someone who loses their legs and goes on to have a full life - they may have said, "I would rather die than be in a wheel chair" before they lost their legs. Things change.
 
First I want to say I dont want to get to the point where someone has to care for my every breath. Trust me when I say this guys..I see every type of person, from every walk of life and every race....when they cant care for themselves anymore, its just sad. My grandfather was one of the best people that ever walked this earth, and the last few years of his life were bed ridden and with dementia. He had no clue as to who I was when Id visit...would just start barking orders at me as if we were in the Korean War still. But a few days before I left for Iraq, I made a visit to say bye..he was alert and knew me. It was wonderful...until he told me he wouldnt be there when I got back. If theres one thing Ive learned in my career...when an elderly person says they're not gonna make it...they know. He dies the week after I got to Iraq. But I had that one visit!! Point is...take care of yourselves now guys...and well get together in the new AM for seniors Thread.

Lol I love it. I'm actually going to school to get my paramedic certification and want to become a firefighter as well! Taking pre recs right now then getting basic this summer and then hopefully will be getting in the paramedic school fall of 2018
 
First I want to say I dont want to get to the point where someone has to care for my every breath. Trust me when I say this guys..I see every type of person, from every walk of life and every race....when they cant care for themselves anymore, its just sad. My grandfather was one of the best people that ever walked this earth, and the last few years of his life were bed ridden and with dementia. He had no clue as to who I was when Id visit...would just start barking orders at me as if we were in the Korean War still. Watched my Dad go from dementia to full blown Alzheimers. He lived for 4 years and didn't know who any of his kids were. Most of the time when I saw him he would either ignore me or hide behind my Mom. My Mom refused to put him in a home, so I watched her be dragged down as well. I have no question what I would do the moment I thought that was happening to me.

Most of the time when I saw him he would either ignore me or hide behind my Mom. My Mom refused to put him in a home, so I watched her be dragged down as well. I have no question what I would do the moment I thought that was happening to me.

Same thing happened to my Grandpop when i was younger.. just horrible.. and my Grandmom did the same thing your Mom did.
 
No gym this morning since I've got a VA appointment in Seattle...BUT, hit a new low weigh in this morning. Was consistently 173-174 the last week then this morning Was 171.0...skipped 172's completely lol. 160's here I come.

Haha, thanks. VA is so always an interesting experience to say the least. They've taken good care of me though. Never understood the complaints from people since I've had nothing but positive experiences with them.

Now dealing with them for increased ratings is a different story...lol

Yeah, good luck! My pop and I always had a good time there no matter what. Love the VA at Bay Pines, St. Petersburg, FL. Great people there.
 
The one I use to take my Dad to In Oklahoma was terrible. I guess it's like anything. depends on the people working there.
