I live in the middle of nowhere in Montana. I am at least 225 miles from the nearest lab that I can go to get testing done. Does anyone know of any at home testing that can be used?
What kind of doctor can prescribe TRT? There aren't any HRT clinics anywhere near me that I have been able to find?
Unfortunately, you would need to have blood drawn at a real lab. Any home testing that may exist wouldn't be accurate, and it's important that you get accurate numbers. There's also the issue of drawing your own blood.
I get my Testosterone, hCG, and Anastrozole mailed to me every month, along with syringes. Perhaps you could find a place in your state that offers the same service? Then you would only need to make the drive a couple times a year to get routine labs done.
What lab/company do you use?
Yeah internal md's rule. I use one as my primary care (kinda), I have an actual family practice as my primary but only as far as insurance is concerned. I go to the family doc if I've got a bad cough. I go to the int md for everything else. Might be a wait time to see one but hey.As mentioned, any doctor can prescribe and that in itself is an issue. Most doctors should not be dabbling in hormones and should refer to a specialist. You can have a PCP run basic tests to get an idea if it low test is even in play, but then should be referring. Endos are optimal, but Internalists are very close and imo are becoming almost a better choice because they are looking at things from a wholistic view and addressing genetic issues, GI, etc..in an attempt to avoid TRT.
