TGR's Modified PowerBuilding v2.0

How tight?

Not overly tight but it definitely does it's job of holding the scaps back and loosening up the pecs and ant delts. It has loosened up a TAD since the initial use though. From my experience with the XL before exchanging, id suggest you stick with the 2x (i think youre like ~235-245 right?)

Yes, but a lot of that weight is currently in me waist. Once I get back into things I should shift back down to 220's. I'll try the 2XL and I guess I can always return it too.

I've still been doing 100's on Curls and extensions every day. Yesterday upped curls to 200, 100 each of hammer and concentration. Also added in 100 paps. Took several breaks on those, but not long ones.

Hey brotha I have an large which is 185-225. I weight around 210 and it's good for me. It's tight but it has given way some. I can wear it for a half hour no problem now

If you need a 2xl bow tie your neck is too fat and you should probably change your food intake

I'm going XL. I'd prefer something on the tighter side to allow for loosening, and something I could "grow into" as I diet down. My healthy weight is around 210-215, so a lot of my weight is carried in places other than my neck and shoulders.

Thanks everyone (except Ricochet).

Ok, new theory...

My home bench is uncomfortably high and I can't get proper bracing and arch with it. This probably assists in me not setting my shoulders?

Anyway, I'll build up the floor so the bench is 17" from standing and see if that helps. I noticed in the beginning that the gym bench was more comfortable than at home.

Whats the height at now? PL regulations say the top of the bench padding should be 16.5-17.5" off the floor. So, if that matters to you, the 17" you were gonna go with should do the trick.

20". Doesn't sound like much of a difference but it feels like one.

It's ok man I'm fat too. That's why it's ok for me to make fat jokes.

No, 3" would make a difference in set up, etc. Thats 3" further that your legs have to go to reach the ground...that's absolutely a big difference ma man.

Height is huge on a bench. I drive an extra 10 minutes because the closer gym has low benches and it destroys my setup. The EFS comp bench at the further Golds is where it's at.

16.5 to 17.5 Bench height. This explains why I have minimal leg drive with my Ironmaster bench - it's at 21 inches!

Occasionally I'll be in a situation where I have to bench out of the open racks there and use a portable flat bench if I can't work in with someone on the EFS, and they must be like 20 inches because I feel a mile off the ground and definitely don't get as much leg drive.

I would always take a high bench over a low bench, but there's a reason 17 is the comp standard.

Most incline benches I see are significantly taller, but it makes sense.

I always bench more on the higher phat pad...so I don't do it anymore bc it hurt my ego once lol

Super, super pleased with this one.

Oh ya, i used one of those premixed stmul8 bottles from VS as my pre today. No complaints, im glad you guys went with ruowelscine (sp?) instead of yohimbe. 320mh caffeine in a 6oz bottle is some pretty potent stuff. Im usually not a big fruit punch fan either and it was actually pretty good. Kinda tasted like fruit punch Kool-Aid

New PX formula?

Yes. There is another called PX Diuretix. I'll try that one tomorrow.

I honestly don't care much for Stimz. It was too much for me. And Stimul8 capsules are great as a pre but not when I was looking for for an afternoon energy jump.

I like stimz, it is strong, but I like PX more. I'm interested to see what changes come to it. It's very well liked around here

Does it have Y in the new formula?

I left the bottle at work so I'll have to look tomorrow. I don't have a label-picture.

Although, I don't believe so. It didn't feel like it.

This was helpful and I am glad I decided to go with XL instead of 2XL. I really can't wait to get it back...

Yesterday I did more band stuff:

100 hammer Curls
100 kickbacks
100 PAPs
100 Outside Curls
100 OH Ext
100 RC movements

Probably takes about 12-15 minutes total. I'll repeat that today, and again lower stuff on the weekends.

After Christmas I'll make the effort to again go in the mornings frequently.

I still disagree with that sizing rec but i think ive made my opinion known so i wont beat a dead horse. I could have been an outlier in that situation after all...but it is weird that donnie was recommending sizes different than what that article said he told them. :shrugs:

I am pretty confident that my current weight isn't indicative of the size of my shoulders and chest. You may be right though.

You have a pretty good sized frame, so your size at a weight is definitely distributed differently than a guy at, say, 5'10" like me.

Chocolate and PB cookies last night. It's missing something... I think I made the frosting too sweet with erythritol confectioners

Cookies look bomb

....forgot to measure my benches.. lol

The more I put thought into it the more I think that bench was instrumental into making a small issue larger. I remember doing super light banded benching at home and it hurt like he'll way back in May.

First time at the hunting camp this season and it's over halfway gone. ☹️

It took a minute to start the Bronco last night and the short drive to my stand to set out a couple things wasn't enough to charge the battery back up. The radiator fan was pulling the juice and it wouldn't start. So I had a fun walk back to the camp. lol

That freaking blows. Cold where you are? It's freezing in the northeast

Froze my butt off this morning. Mid eighties this afternoon. Crazy.

One of the belts broke, the one that runs the alternator. I replaced all 3 with help from Ricochet.

Thoughts on getting in this many carbs intra workout? If I did it in Gatorade alone it would either be super sweet or I'd have a problem getting in the fluid in an hour.

You're talking over 1,000 calories in carbs peri-workout. I wouldn't be looking at over 200 peri, just a personal preference. Right now I have carbs pre and that's it

Carbs pre and nothing else the rest of the day?

Carbs pre and nothing else the rest of the day?

No, I just don't prioritize reloading glycogen immediately post training because it will be 48-72 hours before my next lift. That's plenty of time to slowly reload. I already had insulin up while training due to my whey/yogurt/granola bowl, then I spike it again post w a whey/milk isolate shake. I wanna eat my carbs and enjoy them over 2-3 meals leading up to training. I'm doing a higher protein/mod carb/lower fat approach. Lot of lean meats and rice with veggies, some fruits and nuts and avocado.

So if I'm training Wednesday at 7:30am, my 6pm & 9pm meals prior will be heavy on rice or grits, and I will have something like cheese rice cakes before bed at midnight. Wake and make my granola bowl 40 min out and train.

Why would you need 144 g of carbs intra workout? Seems kinda nutty to me.

I'm leaning away from it now but I was looking into carb cycling and they had all my carbs around my training. The app I used crammed a bunch of carbs into intra workout because of when I go to the gym.

With the dieting talk in here, it reminded me - have you had your Iodine and thyroid levels (T3 free, T4 free and TSH) checked by bloodwork? Iodine is a key in proper thyroid operation. I was found to be extremely low in this essential element.

The reason I ask is that thyroid is integral to metabolism and fat shedding.

I have not in a couple years. I'm very much due for blood work.
