6 Week Fat Loss Challenge

In the Last 2 weeks I have had 4 people to tell Me, You losing to much weight.. I am like WTF how much do I suppose to weigh? Because I feel Awesome Inside and outside. So my Question is to you guys, have you ever experience anything like this before, and what do you guys think? I personally think they are jealous..

You are so right. When I went from 275 to 179 I had a bunch of people say that or "you don't look healthy". Pretty sure HIT4ME has said the same thing in the past. It's totally people rationalizing their bad habits and obesity. Way easier to say the person at a healthy weight is the unhealthy one, than to get your butt in gear and actually get healthy!

Dude your build is outstanding. When people say shyt like that, it is because you are working harder and they don't have the dedication and determination to do what you do.

I was on the opposite end and I gained a ton of mass and had family telling me I was getting too big....LOL

If it makes you feel any better, your in a hell of a lot better shape than me, and my is telling me the same. Im pretty sure she likes it but doesn't. She's actually said Im getting in better shape and shes just turning into an old lady. But wont do anything about it. I feel ya bro

I agree with what everyone has said. I get the opposite a lot. They say I've gained too much muscle and weight lately. I've gone up from 182-183 to 195ish @ 15% bodyfat. I'm still dumbfounded every time someone says the words "too much muscle". But it's always people that aren't in shape or overweight like everyone said.

Yes, habajaba and I have discussed this...it is AMAZING how many people, particularly women, have told me I am getting too skinny. Ummm, I am at 20% body fat. Hardly at any point that is really impressive...or even a remote concern.

I think a lot of it is jealousy and sabotage, a lot is actually fear that people have because we are told things in the media, and some of it is just because people are used to me being so big and never realizing how small I actually was under all that blubber.

The jealousy and sabotage is that they feel guilt for not doing better themselves, and blowing out your candle somehow makes theirs burn brighter.

And I know I get a lot of flack for "eating too little" even amongst a lot of people on this board who should really know better - but I get it because I was afraid to diet for years because I didn't want to eat "too little" or be unhealthy.

I have had a few people comment lately that I am getting thinner but it looks like I've put on some muscle too...but these comments are from people who work out too and are in better shape than I am.

Dude your build is outstanding. When people say shyt like that, it is because you are working harder and they don't have the dedication and determination to do what you do.

You guys are so right. Most people don't get this at all. They think getting in shape is suffering, but I have begun to realize that what we do is the actual pursuit of happiness. It is hard work and struggle. But I don't feel like I am suffering when I do it. I feel good.

But even still, how the HELL do people justify the idea that someone has too much muscle beyond being a ginoramus IFBB Pro? And if that is why they are saying it, then you guys are even more awesome and you should just stare them down for saying that ..

Exactly. And you've seen pictures of me, so you know what I look like. How the hell do I have too much muscle??? BEAST73 is way more muscular than me lol.

Beast has more muscle than most of us! I mean, dont get me wrong - you probably have a solid 20-30 pounds more muscle than most people so people will feel intimidated by that because it isn't "normal" - but too much muscle???

Unless you are an IFBB pro bodybuilder (because it's not my thing), there really isn't a such thing as too much muscle. It normally comes from the out of shape and those lacking motivation. Although my family doesn't have a history of obesity, so I dunno about that one. People like "normal", are comfortable with "normal". So if you are even a moderate outlier, it messes people up

Well this is the killer part.. They tell me I am losing to much weight, and then they ask me the Big Question.. How much weight have you lost and how are you losing it.. Really??! Lol!

To be honest, a lot of things said about your physique or whatever definitely shouldn't bother you. BEAST73. Most normal people are either making a vague joke (oh man, you're losing weight too fast! haha funny!), they're jealous of the progress you're making (because they have failed to lose weight and keep it off so often), or they're just not really thinking. Most "normal" people are just fat and out of shape. Being big and lean is something that isn't common and attracts a lot of attention even when you don't really try to. People don't like outliers.

Because the majority of America cant contemplate the process of fat reduction and muscle growth. When they think muscle, all
They think of and see is Arnold or Sylvester. They dont think of the "common working class man" in their neighborhood being able to do it. Youre a brute my friend, and among so many an inspiration and goal to me. Keep pushing so my goal is forever in front of me!!

Thanks! Bro

Also, on a side note. I've finally temporarily found a place to stay, and it turns out one of my apartment buddies is a meal prep guy. Guess my diet will remain solid for a bit, even when things are going tough! Haha.

THIS is my pet peeve. "How are you doing it?" Like it is some big secret. Like I MUST have found a magical way to lose weight while still eating a dozen donuts every morning. I stopped eating so much and started exercising.

In the movie Central Intelligence when he asks the Rock how he got in shape and he responds with, "I just did one thing. I worked out for 2 hours a day, every day, for the last 20 years" - it is just dead on.

Sorry to split posts, but I'd like to say my last weigh in before my maintenance day of thanksgiving put me at 199 lbs. I won't have my scale easily accessible anymore (complicated story with the move), but my reverse diet starts next Friday. I will likely lose 1-2 more lbs, then the reverse diet will lead me to a -200 calorie deficit, which should maintain my weight (since my maintenance calories will have likely changed).

Great job man. I think you may have lost the most of anyone in this log!

Killin' it! (sung in a high pitched voice like I imagine FireTitan has)

Reel her in here. I'm getting mine involved albeit at her comfort level which is slow. I'm ok with that.

It's not easy.

Also. I get that too (losing weight) at work and I like it. Some are curious and others just feel like they need to say something or even never gave me a look before but now notice.

Don't care much for that. I see people for what they are no matter the body comp.

Why I see all of you as being quite special. Non retarded. :D

Haha!! Non retarded, too funny. As for MY wife, not happening. For a few reasons. Shes against it. Shes not big by any means, just lazy and seems to be getting worse!! Shes a firm believer in water alone is not needed, Dr.Pepper is made with water so as long as she drinks 12 gallons of it a day shes fine. Oh, and the one time a quarter she decided to walk, its on a trail that I love. She said she wanted to go, and excitement took over me! We got there and it took us 1.5 hours to walk the trail-which is 1.7 miles per lap. Because she wants to stop and look at every d@mn flower and butterfly she sees. It really pissed me off. So the next time I said I didnt want to go because I wanted to exercise, she said just go ahead of me and do my thing. I did, then she was mad because I didnt spend "quality time" with her. Ive tried, its not happening and the attempts have just started to increase my inner monsters. Not worth it anymore

lol. I used to love Dr. Pepper, especially with Pizza. Just a great combo. We both stopped drinking any kind of soda years ago. Only water or water based (tea / diuretic) etc. It's strange even tasting a soda now. Can't do it. She sounds like a real handful. Not unlike Mrs. Justhere4comm. :D

Yeah, that sounds kind of familiar. We never work out together. I tried that once, and I'm not an 'easy' trainer or 'easy' to train with. I don't waste any time, and don't like to repeat myself too many times. I honestly think, if she's going to do it, she's got to put in the effort like anyone to learn and keep on learning. It never ends, and if you love it, you do it.

This sponsored log is going to be telling. (Vitalize, Thermogenesis) because I told her. You are going to have to put in the effort, as this is professional and there are expectations that you will do the work. She's been out of the gym for a few months, so getting back in on day one will be a push, but after that she will make the effort. Logging a product has a way of making one focus a little more and try a little harder. It's a good thing. :martha:.

:D

PS: I would stop and smell the flowers, and take pictures of the scenery too, at least just to piss you off...

Dont get me wrong, I love her and would even if she was 300lbs, but it's aggravating that she loves to comment on my progress in a positive way, then tries to break me down when she feels like Id leave her or something. Not happening. And you are 100% correct, you have to want to do it, and its just not in her. I am a great workout partner, and I am a terrible workout partner. For people that are just non caring, judgmental, and overall negative, Im like a nightmare theyve only seen in movies. But to the self driven, the ones who want something, and have real goals, I can be a great push and can get people over the top. The rookie schools Ive taught a re a testament to that. Ive taken some of the most die hard people, (but knly in their head) and made them quit, when the same process and methods have turned the guys everyone thinks will fail into class leaders, simply because the WANT it. Im military, 110%, and thatll never change. I still drink 1 diet Pepsi a day, but probably need to rid of that. I think as far along as we both are on this cut, the Vitalize logs will be great and I have high expectations of both the product, and us my friend. I know youll put the work in just as I will.

PS....you wouldn't like me when Im

Time will bring a change and nothing stays the same good or bad. Keep your head above water, fly straight, never look back, and always look forward for better days..

You should have her hop on your back and carry her on the trail. Quality time problem solved!

FireTitan - you have hit some nerves in my own life man. My gf does the same thing with the insecurities and saying things that make what I'm trying to do into a negative thing without seeing it that way. At times it frustrates the hell out of me but I just put it like it is:

I am doing this for me. No one else. I want to move and be able to move when I am 80. I want to be strong and not helpless.

Everyone has their own motivations and their own pace. Encourage her to find her own path. A lot of us share similar paths on this board and that is how we found each other - we are attracted to it. Help her find her attraction to being healthy.

I guarantee you didn't start off doing things the same as you do now. You got into lifting, maybe missed some workouts, kept at it, started liking it, did more and it just grows and grows. Help her find the seed that grows. It may not be the path you took at all.

I am saying this because everything above is a lesson I have yet to fully learn. I try to realize that everyone can find their own path and the key is to do it YOUR way, but sometimes I forget still.

And I think soda, honestly, is OK ...as long as it's diet and not blowing your calories. It can be really hard to give up and I used to drink 2 liters a day easy, but then one day I just stopped for no real reason and switched to crystal light in water ...it's not perfect, but I get a couple gallons of water that way.

Day 22

Refuse to weigh in and ruin my mood - feeling great - I got to meet my quad muscles! Clothes feel tight in the right places and loose in the right places. I'm eating on point and doing everything right. So FTS!
Oh, and I was bull strong in the gym - andros and stuff have definitely kicked in! On shoulder presses I usually hit a heavyish weight for 10 then drop down 30lbs and rep out for sets of 10-15. Today I went up 10 lbs on my heavy set - then stayed there and repped out. What a great feeling!

As I said, as long as recovery stays good, I'm doing a pec/delt combo 2x a week.

Did some great shoulder presses- behind the neck and in front.

Did Hammer incline and decline presses.

Pushups

Cable flyes

PecDec

Food today is about 5-6 protein shakes and weekend leftovers - chicken, beef, and greens.

This is feeling right. Hope it keeps up.....

Cheers

Great work Tank! Final push before the year end.

I've decided to go all out and jump to 500 mg of Super-11 per day and after just 3-4 days I feel like I am energized and recovering MUCH faster. I feel like my workouts can go forever....I just keep going. I am feeling stronger.

Now I just have to concentrate on getting back to work on the diet and doing it right again!

Thanks man! Btw I mostly added the sup3r11 because of the good feedback from guys like you - i have NO IDEA how many mg I'm doing....I just do a squirt and a half.....crazy?

A squirt is 2 ml I believe...which is 125 mg of 11-KT. So you are probably around d 180 mg/day.

Are you noticing effects? I did 500 mg in my log in my first run and honestly noticed increased recovery ..but this time around I added in some DMSO, 99% Isoprpyl Alcohol and Isopropal Myristate and 500 mg is making me feel really good and like no matter what I do, I feel 100% the very next day.

I'm starting to get excited about what I can do if I keep this up for 4 weeks...unless it's just in my head or something.

Btw, sometimes in your head is just as good as for real....
