6 Week Fat Loss Challenge

Guys I have came down with a cold, and I have been dealing with it for the last 4 days now.. No exercise for me..

If you exercise it purges the evil sickness out of your pores! Or rest. Rest is good too. Apparently rotisserie chickens too. ;)

Rotisseries are the bomb baby!!! But you have to eat the whole thing in 1 sitting

Just one? All too easy. To the bone. My wife is in awe of my ability to get all the meat out of one chicken. All that is left is bone and some cartilage.

It's a gift. :)

Same here and being trying to workout sick with a headache. Doc put me on 3 men's yesterday :(

Correct me if I'm wrong here but as the saying goes more men's would be better. I think your doctor is under dosing men's. You can never have enough men's. I have one question. What are men's? How do I acquire them? Are there any sides? Is a PCT necessary? What kind of stack would make the men's better? :D

Edit: 30 seconds after hitting the 'post' button... OH. MEDS. What kind? Are the the manly kind? :D

Fukkkkk spell check lol
Yes meds
A liquid cough, steroid pills for sinus, nasal spray

(Spoken like Arnold)
Ahhhh see ah see ah see.
Ahhhh. Steroid pills. They will pump up your sinus muscles. Do some heavy breathing exercises.

Then. Get to the choppah!!!

Srs
Hope it helps my man. All kidding aside.

I've been in pain for almost 4 days already. The sinus migraines where blurring my vision and stopped me from really lifting and doing anything.

Just glanced and thought you said steroid pills for anus. Then the men's thing made sense. Then re-read it...

Hope you feel better soon bro. Sounds straight nasty.

BEAST73 and BloodManor - hope you both feel better soon.

I am 1 week into my second attempt and hurt my back Sunday...started working out again on Wed. This week has been a heavy workload work-wise, and I was too exhausted to lift tonight. I tried, but got 5 squats with a weight I should have had 8 with and could tell it just wasn't my night.

I will try again tomorrow. Weight hasn't really been coming off yet, I'm around 173 still.

Some notes....I am starting to have food cravings. Not sure if it's a result of the deficit, the length of time I've been in this deficit, or just proof that my body fat is dropping. Still staying strong though.

Mine is always something always calorie dense like dumplings

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Dummmmmmplingsssss

I was very sad yesterday when my friends were chowing down at the sushi buffet. I just ordered the chicken teriyaki, ate a select few eel avocado rolls, and drank lots of water. Calorie counting at an all you can eat buffet is sad.

You are a friggin machine, starting at 530 on a Saturday and getting more done by 7 AM than most people did all day.

Some notes....I am starting to have food cravings. Not sure if it's a result of the deficit, the length of time I've been in this deficit, or just proof that my body fat is dropping. Still staying strong though.

Food cravings can be so psychological. One time I finally realized this when for WEEKS I was craving a Five Guys Burger. Then zip had a diet break one day and planned on getting one for lunch. On my way to five guys I turned around and went to get beef jerky instead. When I felt like I couldn't have it, I wanted it, but when I finally had a green light, I didn't even want it.

This is why I think having a cheat once per week is so beneficial.

Cravings suck

Yup. Dead on. Donuts, burgers, ice cream...always the worst stuff.

I was very sad yesterday when my friends were chowing down at the sushi buffet. I just ordered the chicken teriyaki, ate a select few eel avocado rolls, and drank lots of water. Calorie counting at an all you can eat buffet is sad.

Inspiring will power man. You have made a decision and you are a man who keeps his word to himself. This is rare...not on this board because we have strong people here...but in life it is rare.

Holy fudge man. Just those squats alone. I want to go squat now too!

Haha, its no problem. But the cravings are eating me up.

Cravings? These are not the cravings you are looking for (waving hand)

Im sure, mine were too and taking a toll. Shake for breakfast, 2 chicken breasts for lunch and this with steamed vegetables for supper

Sounds like you kept to your macros mostly...all for it.

Oh, my workout tonight:

Squats
1 x 8 x 225 warm up
1 x 6 x 265
1 x 4 x 265

Straight Legged Deadlifts
1 x 10 x 265

Pull Ups
1 x 8 x BW + 20
1 x 4 x BW + 20
1 x 3 x BW + 20

Bench Presses
1 x 8 x 95
1 x 8 x 185
1 x 4 x 185

Military Presses:
1 x 8 x 110

Rope Face Pulls
1 x 10 x 70

Rope Press Downs
1 x 8 x 42.5

Barbell Curls
1 x 8 x 85
1 x 4 x 85

I increased some weights since Tuesday, and didn't get the 10 reps on those exercises. Felt stronger today and had the energy to do a second set when I didn't hit 10 reps (at least in most cases).

My back still isn't 100%...it feels a little funky...I may stick with my A workout and do squats instead of doing my B workout with Deadlifts on Monday...we will see. Hate to skip deads though .

Today is my high calorie day. I was down to 171.5 this morning. Not great progress, but I've had a busy work week, which means I have been inactive physically. That and my back hurting kept me from working out too.

Still getting something in, though, man. That is the most important part of the battle

That's what I'm going for. I want to show you guys that if I can do it, you all can too. This thread is giving me some insane accountability. I managed to dodge some ice cream cake tonight at a family party (something I normally can't resist). I'm benefitting from this as much as you guys might be as well.

Trying...want to get the intensity back up.

I have that SAME mentality. If I can do it, anyone can and seeing everyone on here makes me WANT to do it. Thank you for being part of the group, because we all benefit from each other. And knowing that you guys will see my hard work and answer the call makes me want to keep the cycle going...I am answering the call of the other people I see on here and I don't want to drop the ball for the next person who may benefit from seeing my effort. I feel like I would be letting down myself, the people who already did the work, and the people who are going to be doing the work. Not sure if that makes sense...but it is amazing to me.

The only bad workout is one you don't do. HIT4ME

Haha, I mostly agree....but sometimes I think it's better to wait until you are ready. I mean, the entire point is to stimulate growth and to put in a workout that doesn't accomplish that goal is usually kind of a waste of time. In this example, I tried on Friday and could have half-heatedly completed a workout with low energy, and it would have sucked. But I waited until last night, went back, and it was actually pretty good. But - there are times when you want to skip and you go do it and push through and it turns into your best workout too. Plus, sometimes, working out is the most enjoyable part of my day...

In your case though, justhere4comm - it seems like you are a machine and always kill it. No pressure, but you make it look that way.

If. I don't go. I die. Slowly inside. Just a little.

So don't you worry about pressure my man. I put enough on myself for the both of us.

There was a time in my life where I could only think of taking care of others and neglected myself.

I promised my wife. This thing I do is selfish in a way. It is for me and I took this oath upon myself. It is binding and not subject to question.

It turns out however. I am more capable of taking better care of others. I now have boundaries.

There is no end goal. Only better. Stronger. And enjoy the heck out of this beautiful adventure we share as brothers.

Edit: I believe in you.

Machine he is. However I happen to agree with both of you. One guys "half @ss" attempt at a workout is another mans "just what I needed". I know people that feel under the weather and take a break in order to get their body back to 100%, but I also know guys that feel under the weather, and go bust out the craziness in the gym because it refreshes them. Im proud of both of you, and you both motivate me to be better.

Not to sound arrogant, or like an @ss or anything, but heres my take on that. Ive spent the last 18 years of my life taking care of others, and have been paid to do so for the last 14 of those. At some point Im assuming someone will be having to take care of me. So I thought to myself "when do I get to take care of me?"
The gym is now my answer, it allows my "me time", I feel as if Im doing something for myself and I can also say that it better enables me to take care of others.

I think this is very well said and it motivates me to know you think this way. I love lifting weights because it is really just me vs. me. Am I better today than I was a week ago? Every small improvement creates an enormous change over time. And, yeah, it can be a selfish and even an arrogant pursuit at times. But you are dead on - you can't help others if you are weak. The stronger you are, the more you have to give, the more you can help others. They always say that when a plane is going down, they tell you to put the oxygen mask on yourself before helping anyone else. Sometimes, it's easy to forget about ourselves because if we don't fulfill our own needs, there's no one else there to complain about it.

This too motivates me! When I started this, as you've probably read a dozen times on here, it was because I saw my grandmother lose her ability to walk, I am watching my dad go down the same path, and I was on that path too. I see my grandmother now and she is almost helpless. She can't EVER be alone. She needs help doing everything and I feel so bad for her. And my dad, who is the ONE person I could always count on to help if I needed it, really can't even help me anymore because he is in pain just walking with bad knees.

I don't fault them and love them - but I know that I need to make sure that for as long as I am on this planet, I fought to make sure I was capable of helping others for as long as possible - which means I need to help me and take care of me.

Exactly my point. I hate to hear everyone tou care about is so bad off, but it should, and is motivating you to not be in that statistic.
