6 Week Fat Loss Challenge

I decided to pop open a bottle of Super-11. Running at half dose...1 ml in the morning and 1 ml at night. Had 850 cals today. Did the following workout:

Had an OK workout. First day of the 10 rep range part of the cycle. Fell short on some things.

Squats:
1 x 8 x 185 warm up
1 x 8 x 255

Straight Legged Deadlifts
1 x 10 x 255

Pull Ups
1 x 9 x b.w.+ 15

Bench Presses
1 x 8 x 95 warm up
1 x 9 x 180

Military Presses
1 x 9 x 105

Rope Face Presses
1 x 10 x 70

Rope Press Downs
1 x 10 x 40

Barbell Curls
1 x 10 x 80

Got a bunch of work to get done tomorrow so I will get up around 6-630 and spend some time on the treadmill.
BEAST73 - that chest workout sounds exhausting. You are a friggin' machine.

Just a check up - anyone actually lost any significant weight? Ring your bell. how long you been doing the challenge, how far have you come?

Also - has this journey taught you anything interesting that would help others?

I've learned a ton from my first run. One big thing is that even low intensity exercise can take a huge toll on you in a deficit. I also learned that all that exercise can really mess with your appetite. Haha.

Finished my cycle today. 215.4 to 205.6 in 8 weeks, including a week of vacation in there. Not sure I learned anything but definitely reminded that the scale goes up when you gain muscle. So a recomp is tough to do in a weight loss challenge. :)

I definitely appreciate all the encouragement in this thread. More than a few times, I had you all in my head when I was struggling for motivation. Thanks to all of you!

Your drive is awesome. Through the ups and downs you kept pushing. That is an important aspect in life in general. Learning that can help you in everything you do. Like last week I was feeling rundown, this week I felt great all week.

My "bulk" (I use that term VERY loosely) has been frustrating so far. I am over 3600 calories a day and my shirts feel a little tighter in the chest and back and my legs seem to be filling out my clothes a little better, but I am not seeing much change in the scale. I am also getting stronger again. But I don't know if I should add more calories just to get the scale to move or if I am on the right track.

That is why I love this so much. There is so much to do because you will never reach the perfect you, there is always this or that that you want better that keeps you working. At least for me anyway.

Down 10 lbs -but only 9 days left, will not reach the goal. Anyway, best recomp I did so far.

It wasn't your best weightloss, but it was your best SOMETHING. A lot of times recomps are better than straight fat loss

Weighing in at 202.8 this morning down from 211 at the start of the log (3 weeks). Not sure if it's cause I'm super dry or danced my ass off last night, but surprisingly, today isn't as terrible as I thought it would be. I think I'll skip the carb refeed!

I haven't said this at all, but dieting for me is pretty simple (intermittent fasting, bro foods, and I don't mind eating the same thing day in and day out) and I'm usually highly motivated on my own, with good self control, but being in this thread is really making my focus "laser straight". I've done 500 caloric deficits easily, but never 1000 caloric deficits like this before. You guys have my thanks. I hope that my consistent/persistent behavior can motivate others to do the same and reach their goals.

"Offended"? Never my man. You're a true hunter because it isn't for sport. I'm sure you have the greatest respect for that animal's life and death because it provides, as you do. It's all about the circle of life.

I'd love to go hunting one day. I wouldn't shoot the gun, but you could leave the dog at home. I'm really great at retrieving. :D

This is great progress ....and brings up something else I have learned. Losing weight is SO much slower and harder than you would expect. In the beginning is is easy, but it can be brutal to go all the way. Your photos show a huge difference in a short time my friend. Not many people have changed like that.

This is dead on. I've said it all along and smith_69 hit the nail on the head - the journey is as important as the goal. To me, reaching the goal or not doesn't make this challenge a success or not. It is the effort, drive, etc. It is what we put into it ...and HGP may not hit 18 pounds but the change is a big change when you see his photos.

You may be the only one on here hitting the 3 pounds per week so far at that rate! If you've been in a deficit for 3 weeks without a refeed, I would do it anyway...I had a crazy hormone rebound and couldn't eat enough. I suggest avoiding it :).

We all learn from our mistakes. Smart men learn from other people's mistakes. Let my stupidity be your guide. Haha.

Hunting... ALL DAY with my son. So far.... no good

What a great analogy for life. You just have to be ready when the opportunity comes ...you may only have a second. Make sure you are prepared. And it may be here any moment or it may come at the end of the day. Just keep going. I like it.

I hear this. The fire that everyone brings to this just keeps on going. We are glad to have you here carrying the torch. I've been following your progress and it reminds me of my own approach a lot. Not for everyone, but you are getting the job done!

Haha! Hope no one gets offended Invalid Link Removed
Can also see how d@mn fat I was

I'll tell you what I am offended by....that fcking "soul patch".....LOL

Well, there was a study done on athletes who took part in a caloric deficit of 1000kcal for one month with a minimal loss in LBM. FWIW, I feel this way also because my strength hasn't actually dropped considering my mind isn't even in it half the time.

What I am thinking of doing since I am losing weight on track (or slightly faster than expected) is that after 4 weeks, I will do a Lyle Mcdonald style 2 week diet break (10% under old maintenance calories, usually increasing my calories via carbs), then continue with another 4 week 1000kcal deficit. It'll be a weird zig zag approach but will prevent stalls. Also, it won't exactly be following this thread anymore since the diet is much longer than 6 weeks due to the zig zagging I might be planning.

I took a break - I don't see any issue with you coming back.

I've seen photos of that face plenty by now. Nothing will offend me. I can take anything.

Indeed Sir! I use it for food for not only me and my son, but the guys on shift. I am picky about what I shoot, no lil ones, no mamas with lil ones etc. you can go with me any day homie!

Too funny. Im sure my wife thinks the same

My wife wanted me to do the Frank Zappa soul patch with my current stache. Then. After. She changed her mind. lol.

Btw. My stache came about from a lost bet. It was either a Mohawk (not at my age)

Wear a tutu to work. (Couldn't find one big enough) notice I would have worn the tutu...

or cut the Van Dyke down the middle. It stuck.

That is better than straight fatloss....outstanding friend!

hairygrandpa just do not grow a soul patch because this guy will really kill you and make you want to hide in the dark corners of your childhood. LOL

LMAO....grow a beard instead! In my facial pic in my log I haven't shaved for like a month, month and a half and that's it. I grow such shytty facial hair. It looks like something a trailer park meth-head would love

Thank you guys for the honey sweet words. :)
But actually, I failed.... My hair did not grow.
Tried all exercises like:
-cable head pulls
-rubber band ear extensions
-centrifugal head circling
...nothing worked

Some notes:

*This is in regard to Finish Line. I am working at pre-exhausting some first sets, and it's bringing some of the volume down in perception, but in reality I am staying at the same high volume based on the (rest, pause) being so short, and weights are increased in many of the sets.

I do believe it is the inclusion of Finish Line which is contributing to my ability to do this, but I cannot discount the impact Follidrone 2.0 is having on my routine in and out of the gym.

Breakfast
Whey Protein Hydro Isolate
Continue drinking Finish Line (1 scoop in a 1 liter bottle of water)

Lunch
2 cans of Tuna with a cup of rice, butter and hot sauce. I call it Tuna suprese.
