6 Week Fat Loss Challenge

Seriously man, 12 miles is unreal. If you could do that every day, your diet wouldn't even have to be good. You'd be burning 1800 calories/day just running. You could eat at maint. and still lose 3.5 pounds a week. Sure you'd maybe be overtraining, but you'd be full. You are a machine and I don't know how you do it.

Well, it did take you over 2 hours! He wanted to see if you could do 12 miles in 1 hour! Just a constant 5-minute mile pace. You can do that right?

You may be jealous of the running, but I am jealous of your strength. You are a monster. I can't believe some of the weights you move around sometimes.

You know what - just start doing it. I'm not anywhere close to Beast73, but I STINK at running. I mean, I'm lousy. I would run 20 feet and be like, "This sucks, I'm getting a burger." But I spent just 3-4 weeks running and I can do a run walk for about 7 miles in 90 minutes now. And that's not quite dying (but close). I'm suprised at the fact that some days I can just run for 20-25 minutes without a break at a 6 mph pace. For me that is pretty good and it didn't take long to get there. Beast truly is on another level, 3 levels above me, but I hated it and once I started commiting to it and seeing improvements - I started to almost, kinda, somewhat like it.

As a matter of fact, I ran/walked for 5.1 miles today in 75 minutes. Getting geared back up to jump in the water by Friday....
HIT4ME thank you my friend. I cant tell you how much I appreciate that. FYI, Homecoming today, so Ill be all over this place tonight, IM SURE YOU KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT! Lol

I am guessing he means athletic heart syndrome. But, he may have it backwards? Maybe running so much has enlarged his heart? Which is, after all, why they associate it with athletes....although many people have it that aren't in shape too.

I have a resting heart rate of 51 BPM....still can't run 12 miles.

That same year the Doc told me that, I was doing a 6 minute mile run. I was out of this world in shape, People was accusing me of using the juice. Lol!

Oh man, I never thought of it from your perspective until you've been mentioning homecoming.

I feel bad for guys like you that have to respond to stupid sh1t people should have known better before they did it. On the other hand, I didn't do enough of that stupid stuff....wish I could do it over.

I do have a story about being in one of the dorms down there with a bunch of friends...and one of the females invited her navy boyfriend...and the night was long and ended with me putting him on his stomach and putting a knee in the back of his neck to hold him down until he passed out. Loooong night.

Thats sounds like a good night!! But I know exactly what you're saying. I see the stuff going on and the chicks that are involved, and Im thinking "this is stupid""I bet their parents are proud ". Then I almost immediately think "damn I wish I could take part in that" and " wow, I bet she would make my dad proud of me"

I'm going to give FireTitan a little credit here for (ahem) lighting a little fire in my belly. :)
It's really also been a cumulative effect of everyone in so many ways though too.

Slept in today, didn't wake up until 3:30a and it felt great. I took my time in my pre-workout routine to relax, make coffee, and mentally prepare for what will be my foray into a new realm of pushing myself. I went to bed last night dreaming of a landmark workout and I think I achieved it. I will be reporting back on my findings with regard to Finish Line and my recovery later on today, but most likely tomorrow.

Outstanding my friend! Incredible job, BUT, there are so many better choices to catch your fire from, although I truly appreciate it. You're definitely making great progress and I can see you smashing through your goals!! Love reading your updates my friend

Here's a picture of a guy who can't stick with a plan. I knew when I started this that there was going to be a couple weeks that would be tough, due to a vacation and work travel, but I really thought I was up for it. Now, throw in a partial tear of my achilles tendon and stuck wearing a boot for 4 - 6 weeks, and my cardio is gone. Turns out, I may have been out exercising my bad diet choices.

My struggle now, do I continue with this cut (that I seem unable to actually do), or run the 8 weeks of Test1fy, Tr1umph and X-Gels that I had planned on doing, or say screw it and run the 8 week cycle of 1-Andro, Epi-Andro and Dermacrine that I was thinking about running sometime in January.

Please ignore the chubby mid-section and un-even traps.

(Enjoy it bighulksmash, probably won't be another one uploaded for a while)
No. I won't accept your body being broken. Unacceptable on its part. So punish it with the andros to show it who's boss...

Lol man that really sucks. Take it easy and just work your upper body for now until it heals. I'm stoked your running the andros after all. You better put up a log for it!

I think my stomach is finally used to the lack of carbs and lack of overall calorie intake, and right now my biggest problem is lack of energy. I honestly think I can make it to the very end and I should be 12-13% by the end of these 8 weeks. Maybe I will stick around this thread if it stays alive for the next 12 weeks after that.

Oh I think the thread will stay alive. Not sure about us, but the thread will live on

You don't look like a dude that can run 12 miles...LOL....Nice effing work man. Inspirational whether trying to lose or gain

And another one bites the dust......Me. I've been thinking about it all weekend, going over MrKleen73's suggestions and have decided to go back to the recomp mode. I want to increase muscle mass, and I can't do that while in a deficit. I find myself pushing harder and harder to gain strength, but I just keep sabotaging that goal by not eating enough to fuel those workouts. Then I end up eating more than I should and I'm right back where I started. I've got probably another 4 - 6 weeks of limited leg workouts (machines mostly, and no calf work period), so I'm gonna go ahead with the 8 weeks of Triumph, Testify and X-Gels. Then at the end of January I'll start the 1-Andro, Epiandro DHEA cycle I've been talking to a few about. I'll still follow along, and will be here for any support I can. Sorry to have let you guys down!

And now I need a distraction, so Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Conway Twitty

You were already leaner than most. Go for the gainz!

You didn't let anyone down. In the end, we are all doing this for ourselves for one reason or another. Go with a slight calorie surplus and go from there. The more muscle tissue you have, the more calories you burn. So if you can go 8-12 weeks in a surplus (obviously monitoring Mr. Mirror to see if your body is doing what you want it to do), making additions as needed, you'll get stronger and put on some muscle. You can also manipulate your body fat by training fasted with BCAAs pre and EAAs during. Your body will use fat for energy and the BCAAs and EAAs will help preserve your muscle mass

Great great workout bro. Let that fire burn!

You have no idea how much you under estimate yourself brother. You are killing it! You and Beast73 are leading the way. Sure beas73 can run 12 miles. But I hear he sucks at washing down fire engines.

I think my stomach is finally used to the lack of carbs and lack of overall calorie intake, and right now my biggest problem is lack of energy. Truly a Beast. I don't even know what to say. Keep it up.

Agreed. If we were giving a prize, I think BEAST73 wins. Looking amazing, dude!

Yeah. He is CRUSHING it. All of it. He is officially jacked.

Ummmm....who have you let down? If you are moving toward you goals, that isn't a let down at all. You are much leaner than many of us and way ahead of me. You are also a huge support and great friend. I'm glad you are here, proud of you for trying, proud of you for not quitting when you got injured and proud of you for being clear about what YOU want and going after it. You don't owe anyone here anything and have given plenty. I mean this sincerely.

This is great. The journey IS important. Lyle talks about how they did a study where people who had 70+ pounds to lose often only made it half way and gave up and were disappointed. Like losing 35+ pounds isn't an accomplishment. SFreed was leaner than most, had adversity, and lost 4-5 of the 10 he was shooting for ...that's a good accomplishment and I am sure the effort put in taught him a bunch for the next time.

I went to bed late for me, so I woke at 4:00a for my pre workout routine which was a bit truncated and to the point.

This gave me only 30 minutes at most to compete my routine so I decided when I arrived at the gym, I would have a plan of attack. An action plan. By the time I arrived, I was set mentally; focused and had positive aggression!

Music chosen: Classical. Started with the 5th. Yes.

NOTES
PowerMax XT is a fantastic pre.

More importantly, I feel FINISH LINE is providing me a great deal of intra and post workout support.
This great tasting PWO is working. Recovery is improved during workout as well post workout. I'm glad I chose to use this intra additionally, and will be dosing again during the day, but mixing the scoop with 1 litre of water.

Just a quick update... Lots of failure going on here, so I'd like to pile on...

207.4 this weekend. That's up a full 4 lb. But I still feel like I am as lean if not more than last week in the mirror. So I honestly think it's got to be added muscle and maybe some water. But not new fat... This is exactly why I don't put much stock in the scale. I'm now on my last week of Sup3r-4. If I had to guess, it's probably finally hitting full steam in my system. After all, it took 4 weeks for Epidrone to hit me full steam. So it may very well be the GAINZ I've been waiting on. :)

One of these days, I'll get to 199.8 and it will be a glorious day. That said, I'm totally cool with it being a long way off as long as the fat:muscle ratio continues going in the right direction!

Hoping to get some lifts in today, but super busy. Had a fire education class with a bunch of 2nd graders, and then a structure fire. Supposed to get together and study for our annual EMT scopes, and then have to actually do them at 1800 tonight. My diet yesterday was ridiculously on point, even turned down Reece's PB cups. Got on the scale this morning and Im back down to 223. I had sung back up to 231 so Im happy with what's happening . Ill check in later with what Im hoping will be my workout
