6 Week Fat Loss Challenge

Well done!

Yes but you have got to quit using your Firehouse requests as excuses to sabotage your progress man. Own up to what you are doing. Recognize it as an excuse so you can eat yummy grub too and cut that sh!t out! You make the burgers for them and that is great. However for you, the person who committed to your diet and health should choose to eat a naked patty while the rest of the firehouse boys appreciate your kindness.

Not trying to be a d1ck here just this is the 3rd or 4rth time you have said this in 3 weeks. You act like self accountability is impossible just because you cooked the food so you have to eat it. Not so. Those are excuses call them out for what they are so next time you realize you are choosing to be weak if you partake. Way too much patting on the back and Awww that's okay going on in here for a thread we should be motivating each other and calling each other out on taking the easy way out. Remain accountable and those here who care about you should say what needs to be said to help you in that aspect. If me saying any of this frustrates or pisses you off then that is EXCELLENT!!! Use that to fuel your resolve to not give in to the temptation. That or man up and tell the boys. Sorry I am dieting someone else is going to have to cook or we eating chicken breast and rice tonight.

You run into fires for a living, that sh1t is hard to do, so it is not about mental toughness but where you choose to employ your mental toughness. Apply it to your goals also.

Chick Fila has excellent low calorie options. Could have definitely held on to the deficit if you wanted to.

Excellent, I see you are willing to work harder, apply that to the dietary resolve too and watch your progress increase.

Sorry if people think I am being a douche here today, just woke up with an allergy to excuses this morning. This thread was made as a hardcore challenge, no one should be having ANY CHEAT MEALS! It's fugging 6 weeks guys... A scheduled refeed certainly is a tool to be used but that is not what is going on in here and yet everyone keeps patting people on the back and reassuring it is okay when they are making failure inducing decisions. One accidental cheat meal or slip is acceptable, more than one in a deal like this shows lack of commitment and continues the exact pattern that got us out of shape in the first place.

Originally this was to be a challenge accountability thread, but it has become a cheerleading thread. You ever notice at the games Cheerleaders cheer no matter how bad their team is performing. They offer no way to improve or fix anything they just cheer them on blindly... Let's lift people up in this thread but let's hold them accountable as well.
MrKleen73 let me clarify some things. I am not a guy that is easily offended, if I can even get offended anymore, so no offense taken. I am also A straight forward, give it to me as with no bullshyt kinda guy, because thats how I am as well, I dont fluff when I am attempting to help, correct or direct anyone, that's how I was raised , thats what my Military career required , and my jobs now I just have to be that way. With that being said, I appreciate your comment, and that harshness is EXACTLY why Im on not only this forum, but this thread. You're absolutely right, it is, and was an excuse. I have a lot of "personal" things going on in my life that a few other members know about, and unfortunately for me, my cope is either anger or food. Food only hurts me. But, With the support of this thread, and comments like yours, HIT4ME, habajaba and so many others, I will cease. I may slow at times, but so do trains and good luck stopping one of those b1tches! I thank you, and nothing else for your comment as I see it as a kick in the a$$ that I need. You Sir, are gold with me.

Actually this question is for everyone that's in the Fat Loss Challenge?

My band says I burn 2200 cal besides my workouts. Basically my BMR.

I'm running most days around 1250 cal, shooting for 40/30/30 but I'm OK with 40-50p and 30-50f, mostly focused on keeping carbs at 30 or less. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I allow myself 1-2 meals outside the plan per week. This is for my sanity, to keep my body guessing, and convenience. NOT the most extreme option, but as much as I'm in here for the support, I'd rather do it slightly more reserved because I think it'll benefit me more in the long run. Whether I meet the official goal or not.

Chugging between 1.5 - 2 gal water.

I alternate lift and cardio 6 days a week.

209.0 this morning, down from last week 215.4. Still just trying to catch up to the insane pace HIT4ME is setting! Keep killing it brother, you're my inspiration! :)

Sorry, I missed this earlier when I was on my phone - you ARE on pace with me man. I'm 3 weeks in and only down about 7 pounds. I rebounded a little and got up to 179 from a start of 176, and now I'm down to 169.4 - but I while I've shown I can lose 9 pounds in 9 days; I can't really say I've lost 9 pounds. It's been about 7 pounds in 21 days. I need to play catch up.

Had a pretty decent workout this morning. Modified push routine (it's Sunday, so basically the things I like doing!)

Warmup 3 x 15 (5 reg, 5 wide, 5 narrow) pushup
Incline DB 3 x 18 (6 pronated, 6 neutral, 6 supinated) - 30 lb

Seated Barbel Press (smith machine) 3 x 12 (120, 130, 120)

Seated Lateral Rise DB Raise 3 x 12 - 20 lb

Incline DB Bench Press 3 x 8 (75, 75, 70 lb)

Incline Cable Fly 3 x 8 - 40 lb

High Cable Crossover 3 x 8 - 40 lb

20 minutes abs and 30 minutes stationary bike.

Also, played around with some legs to see what I'm able to do. Obviously calf raises are no bueno, and squats are out, but I can tweak my foot placement on the seated leg press machine with no pain. Leg extension, leg curls and the abductor machines are all ok, so I'll just have to make some changes to my leg routine for the next 4 - 6 weeks.

Post workout meal = USPLabs Chocolate, 8 ounces water, handful of ice cubes and a banana. That'll be it today until fish tacos tonight.

Wife is at work today and it's kinda rainy, so I'm pretty sure I'll end up back at the gym later this afternoon for ****s and giggles.

That's what I'm talking about - working out, no excuses - even when you HAVE one, you don't take it. Proud of you brother!

What will be your Calories, Protein,Carb, and water intake after your intense cardio session?

Beast, you know me - 900 calories per day give or take 100 plus I aim for one cheat meal a weak. To be honest, the cheat is COMPLETELY psychological in my mind. A lot of days I'm around 800...some as high as 1000. I drink about 2-3 gallons of water a day just as a matter of my normal routine (always been a big drinker and I can go through 1/2 gallon pretty easily in a sitting or during a workout). I'm not adjusting for cardio at all. I'm doing the work, I want it to burn calories. My cardio goal is to make it be low intensity so it doesn't impact my workouts too much....but that means I have to go LOOOOONG to burn calories. Kind of sucks, but high intensity cardio on low calories is kind of rough. I am trying to get better at running too...which is a little higher intensity, but I think good in the long run. I try to get at least 140 grams of protein/day in those 800-1000 calories.

I increase my Calories, Carb, Protein, and Water intake after each cardio session..
That way I will have a better Weight training, better recovery, and Burn more fat..

This is a good plan, but I've been doing a TON of cardio lately and expected it to impact my workout yesterday - but it actually didn't. If anything, I felt stronger and more able to recover between sets. Not saying that will last forever, but I'll take it while I can. The ONLY adjustment I make is having an extra protein shake after a weight workout and taking BCAAs during weight workouts. I don't see the need beyond that. Maybe I'm crazy.

FireTitan. Do you have what it takes? Do you WANT this?

One thing for me, I have a lot of personal attachments to food. It makes me happy and comfortable and helps me during times of stress. I associate emotional feelings with it. Those associations are fine, to a degree - but if you want to be different than average, it only takes a decision. A decision to go get what you want, no matter what.

NO MATTER WHAT.

Everything else going on in your life can be tough. Don't let it take this from you too. If you want this, go get it. It's already yours if you decide it is what you want.

Ah, I'm trackin what you're saying now. No, I don't make any adjustment. I haven't bonked or struggled yet. My plan was to reduce cals until I bonked, then adjust. I think it may be the Epidrone. But either way, I'm busting out my workouts with no lack of energy, strength, or recovery even on the 1250 cal/day. Sounds like a solid plan to keep from bonking and stay strong, though!

If your goals is to be in the best shape of your life, You will have to make Exercising a Lifestyle.. Prime example, last night I was sleeping and I get a text video of My cousin Drinking and Partying in a limousine full of Hot Women, and I say to Myself that MF! But at the end of the day I must think about my Goals that I want to accomplished.. Meaning that I must cut ties with some people and My old ways in oder to achieve my goals..

Ok, I'm almost 3 weeks into my challenge. I didn't take photos until 2 weeks ago today, so here's an update. Sorry I had to swap mirrors, for some reason the camera doesn't like that mirror I was using and the quality gets worse and worse.

HIT4ME, You look Awesome! I see definition in the chest, shoulders, biceps, and the abdominal region.. You are crushing the word called fat!

Sorry - had some issues with the image uploader and had to delete that post...hopefully this works better.

HIT4ME - Jeez dude, you are crushing it. Wish my progress photos showed that kind of difference!

Thank you guys! It seems like the leaner I get, the bigger difference each pound makes. I didn't expect that much difference, but the photo quality probably accounts for SOME of it.

Supper was indeed fish tacos! Tilapia marinaded in a mixture of cilantro, garlic, cummin, ground pepper and lime juice (blended in the food processor) then baked. Whole wheat tortilla, shredded red cabbage and instead of crema, sauce was triple zero yogurt and chipotle peppers blended in the food processor. If I'm figuring correctly, kcals per taco is right at 392. So two tacos and un-sweetened ice tea gets me under 800 calories, under 1100 for the day.

While I have had a Hiatus from here for a bit, thought I would drop in for two things. First Kudos HIT4ME you have actually stuck at this extreme diet which has impressed me. Second, whats the GO with all these avatars with family guy pics? what must one do to join this potato club?

Thank you all. But I have had a ton of support from everyone in this community, so I should be thanking you guys. You have stoked the fire and I hope it ignites others in return. I truly appreciate all you have done for me. I can't say it enough.

How about 1125 calories, 180 protein and 70 carbds for the day? Good to het me back on?

That is a great plan in my eyes brother. Honestly, use those macros and plan out some different meals to hit those macros. Then don't eat anything that isn't on your plan, and dont eat anything you can't measure/weigh to control portions. It is that simple. You KNOW what to do. And you work hard. Just go get it.

I noticed you are spending lots of time doing cardio, are you doing any HIIT work such as battle ropes or stationary bike sprints?

I started off with some HIIT sprints. But in this deficit, I can't get the intensity up. I am saving the intensity for the weights. Maybe after I get in a little better shape I can put sprints back in. I like HIIT better...

HIT4ME that progression is outstanding! I hope my clean bulk is half as good as your weight loss thus far. Seriously kicking @ss man!

Weight this morning was 185. Headed the right way again.

Thanks Ryane87! You are already quite lean and I've been watching your log even though I haven't had much time to comment - you're doing great! Just keep pushing toward your goal and you will do even more in your bulk than I've done in this cut.

So you're down 4 pounds out of the 10 you were shooting for? Great start!

Meg is the best of them all though. Surprised no one has snatched her up.

I think were going to hold off on lifting today, not sure yet. But it looks like its going to be a cardio day and full of it. Starting with washing and waxing 2 fire trucks. I think were going to rock out an hour and a half of racquetball this afternoon, GREAT cardio and then Ill hot the heavy bag this evening. Linch was a grilled chicken breast and leg without the skin.
