ryane87s ride to awesomeness

Not my typical day today. The pulled muscle in my left trap has a stranglehold on the nerve. It was painful getting out of bed. So I didn't train shoulders. I did legs for a second time. Wasn't much, just some leg presses with me feet close together and lower on the platform, leg extensions, and leg curls. Basically, whatever didn't require me holding a weight or using my shoulders. I also through in a few sets of pressdowns. I will take the day off tomorrow, have my wife work on it this weekend and go from there

But some positive notes! I upped my cals to 3400-3500 a day and pretty much maintained my weight for the week instead being out 5 pounds by Friday. So that is awesome

Oh, there is this guy at work who just got out of the army. 6' or so and weighs 130 pounds. Starts trying to talk to us about squat form and then proceeds to say he can't squat his own body weight....da fuq?!?!? LOL

I was amused....

Sorry, homie. I feel your pain. Been there, done that so many times it's not funny.

I don't have 6" arms, and weigh a little more than 130 lbs, but am pretty sure I can still squat my body weight (I do it every time I sit down and then get up LOL). But on a serious note, I am pretty sure I probably could. I weight approximately 175, and squat 155 for 4 sets of 15. But that is the max weight I have in my home gym currently. That is the downside to a home gym, space for equipment and weights.

I get that sometimes when I am too restless in my sleep and wake up with a stiff shoulder and/or neck. I hope it starts to feel better soon than later!

You could smash your bw easily. This guy flat out doesn't lift.....at all....lol

ryane87 youre still smashing it brother, but I really hate to hear about the trap. Try some heat, and maybe some epsome salts my friend, it can do wonders!!

Yeah...I'ma try some stuff this weekend to try and get it right

My secret formula is: hot tub, stretching, foam roller, massage, TENS, ice pack, inversion table, anti inflammatory, muscle relaxer. All but massage and TENS, I do daily. Only way I can keep the spasms at bay.

I have been foam rolling the shyt out of this b! Haha the wife is going to work on it this weekend. I think it is such a nuisance because it like has a nerve wrapped up in it. Makes my head hurt, left side of my face get hot, my left arm goes numb. It all feels like it is pulling on a nerve. Haha

I will definitely work on getting this m-effer out this weekend. No training tomorrow in the mean time

Deep tissue massage maybe? It'll hurt but should work it out. Hope something works out for you.

You've to get that electrical squared away. I may be able to help you through pics

I know. I'm gonna tear into the walls tomorrow. I've done it a bunch of times before but I really didn't want to this time. I will put up some pics tomorrow and see what you think.

Legs today. Trap knot feels almost all the way out. Weird morning. Stuff not cooperating. Didn't get to the gym until 7ish. After my warm-up, I only had about a half hour

Leg press: 7 plates each side x12, +25 x12, 8 plates each side x11, +10 x7, 4 plates +25 x22 with each rep having a 3 second rep. Knee and hip pain still popping up. Haven't squatted in about 3 or 4 weeks and was hoping that would take care of it. Still a little sketchy

Barbell hack squat/leg extension superset: 185x8/165x8, 195x8/180x8, 205x8/165x8

Not a bad session considering time. Really hoping hip and knee start to turn around. Weighed in @191 this morning. Will put up pics soon to get a little judgement help as I continue in the 3400-3500 cals range

Glad the trap is doing better. Never fun!

Jealous of your nearly 3x calories. :D

Chest this morning. All in all a good session...by my standards anyway

Incline barbell press: 175x5+2, 180x3+2, 155 full 3 second negative x5, x4. Kind of humbling the last 2 sets. The first 2 I felt like I had one left in each of the first parts

Reverse Grip bench press: 175x7, 185x6, 195x4, 155x8

Dumbbell bench press: haven't done these in awhile and it showed. I always start with 85s. They tell me how it is going to be. Only got it for 4...lol finished with the 65s and 55s x9

Incline flyes: 40x8, 45x6, 35x8

Not a lot of energy for the session, but felt strong. Looking forward to what next week will bring

Back today. Only had a half hour because I hung out late with the fam. Supersets this morning. Was kinda disappointed because I was feeling strong even though I only got about 5 hours of sleep

90° barbell row/behind the neck pull ups +10lbs: 195x7/5+3+2
195x6/3+2+2+3
200x6/3+2+2+2+1
One extra set at 205x5 really wish I would have had more time to really focus on both exercises

Free motion one arm row/one arm lat pulldown superset: 100x10 each arm, 110x10 each arm, 100x10 each arm

That was it :(

Good for only 30 minutes. I'm about to have maybe that much time.

Pretty sweet work for 30 minutes. Nice going

Shoulders and tris this morning. Only had about 45 minutes, not near the time I would like to have to hit both sufficiently. Been feeling stronger this week. More driven as well. No real explanation so I will take it!

Strict military press: haven't been able to get at these in a bit. Pretty happy
125x7, 135x7, 140x5, 145
Laterals: 30x8, 35x7, 25x9 w/ a pause at the top, 20x9 same way
Kneeling high face pulls: 90x10, 100x10, 110x10
Dumbbell overhead extension: 80x8, 85x5
Leaning overhead cable extensions: 90x10, 100x8
Reverse grip pressdowns: 90x10, 100x10, 110x8
One arm pressdown: 2 sets 40x10

So I have still only maintained at 188 all week even I have been knocking back over 3500 cals a day this week. BOGUS!!!!

I lost 3 pounds from Monday to Tuesday and have stayed there. Dammit! LOL

So I don't spend a ton of money on earphones or things like. I find a decent $5 pair at like Family Dollar or something and I am cool.

I have been without music for about 2 weeks. Told the wife I was going to get a pair. She tells me to get a pair from Dollar Tree because they are the same....

No they're not. NO THEY ARE NOT!I have found my limit! Dollar Tree ear phones suck the fattest D on the planet. And this is coming from a cheap bastard! Today's lesson? You don't always want to listen to your wife. Sometimes, they don't know what the hell they are talking about....LOL

Sneak away to walmart and buy some Smokin' Budz 2, They're worth it and cheap.

You better hope to God she never sees what you wrote. Your ear phones will really suck after they've been shoved right up your A hole!

Hey it beats the hell out of the random and LOL...

I will have to keep that in mind...I already snatched up a pair this evening....haha

Da fuq? AR and boat. You are so silly AM forum typer thing....haha

Ahh, that makes more sense. And I'm familiar with both those items being used as a suppository, although the firearm in my case was a Colt CQBP, so not quite as intrusive as an AR

And Plantronics Backbeat Fit. Love the wireless headphones and these sound good and stay in. A little on the pricey side, but my kids are grown and gone, so what the hell.

Shoulder issues suck! Gotta take it easy on it though man. Don't want to make it worse than it already is
Great advice. I blew it off and pressed on and now I'm on about my 3rd month of rehab. It sucks. Quite a few lifts that I still can't do.

They're only 30 lol. And they make the cordless version.

30 is hard to spend on something like that. I would be cutting into my already limited supp budget....LOL

Shows how faulty my memory is. I thought it was an AR....lol

Now I see where you were going with it! We still don't talk about the boat, btw

I'll fcking bet....LOL

Deadz action today. Just decided upon singles. Decent energy even though sleep wasn't at its finest.

Warm-up
275x1
315x1 (hook grip)
335x1 (added chalk)
355x1
365x1
375x1 (added belt)
Super excited about the 365 with no belt
315x8 (no belt)

Romanian deadlifts: 225x8, 245x8, 265x8

Leg curls: 3 45s 3 sets of 8 30 seconds between sets

Decent day!

Feels good getting in heavy dead days. Just have to gain a little more confidence in my lower back before I really start pushing it to get to my prior strength level on deads. Real happy, though!

Getting close to that 4 plate mark brother!!!

Getting close to that 4 plate mark brother!!!

Trying to get that confidence in my back to push my strength...450 is my best. I'd be happy to hit my post-kids best of 425 by maybe January...we shall see....haha

You guys are all BEASTS!!! If I tried 450 I'd shoot my tampon across the gym
