Donald Trump running for president

These are all derogatory "words" that diminish my value in no way nor do I empower anyone who uses them on me with the power to offend me by taking exception to them. When I take exception to them I validate and empower the derogatory.

I see or feel nothing derogatory when anyone calls we any of those nor do I embrace those of my same ethnicity with the same as a term of endearment unlike others do. I do walk the talk.

I don't think GP meant that in that way but then again I'm "insensitive" to those. It could be the "New Yorker" that he was referring to. We all know how "they" are. :)

Spick is Spanish Colonial (SPC) and has nothing to do Catholic or Irish.
 
So maybe you can help me understand something.

Obama has been in office for 8-years. Suddenly African Americans are being oppressed, shot, targeted, creating BLM, rioting and protesting for equal rights. So under a democratic black president, the African Americans now have it worse than ever (relatively speaking). However, less than 10% of African Americans support GOP candidate Trump. So what is their rationale for supporting ANOTHER democratic president who just wants to continue Obamas crappy legacy???? Don't they realize that Obama has already proven his policies have taken back civil rights by 50 years? I just don't understand the thinking.

How much has social media changed in that time as well? This **** isn't new and has been going on for decades. There's just infinitely more exposure now than previously. Twitter was barely a thing when Obama took office.

The same logic could apply to the South where it's consistently amongst the poorest and least educated yet continue to vote Republican.

Which still proves my point. Why continue to vote for something that obviously isn't benefitting you. It goes for both sides.

You're making the assumption that voting democrat automatically means that contingency is actually heard. There was also that lovely Republican Congress that pissed and moaned and threw fits for 8 years because the black guy won. Kinda hard to get anything done with antics like the ones they've pulled for the past term. I could vote democrat all day and nothing would change where I live because I'm in Texas.

theres many "believed" origins for the word.

Ex: Never meant to be an offensive word. Actually when a Hispanic person was to be arrested it and no one could understand anything they were saying, The cops would write, "Spanish Person In Custody" (SPIC). It Was never meant to be offensive, just a description. People just take that and run with it

Most slurs have a benign origin. Kike, for example, just means circle, but became a quasi Magna Carter symbol as a result.
 
So when they use the term "this countries values" or "the values this country was built on" which and or who's values are they talking about? I see a huge inconsistency and incompatibility here with of course the exception of mine being completely unacceptable.

There is hardly any difference between the lovely Republican Congress and Obama's policies anyways...ones the doors shut its all hand shaking and deal making. Their policies, more specifically the major ones are hardly any different.

It's largely the same actions with different justifications to the public when it comes to the major issues. Obama (Dem) expanded and continued Bush's (Rep) Patriot Act inspired spying, just with a slightly different justification. The constant fighting and bickering between the parties gives a great illusion that they disagree on everything.

You aint seen nothing yet....once and if Hitlery gets president its going to hit a whole new level....everyone will be a sexist too. Its will be a triple battle....blacks on whites, women on men.... if your a black women on a white male then fugeddaboutit.

Do I really need to review the history of race relations in this country from the beginning? You know, the one that starts with immigrants coming in and taking land from natives, morphs into an entire race of people counting as 3/5 of a person, reconstruction, Jim Crow, etc.

Honest question, do you think racism doesn't exist?

It's the history of the world but really these days the USA is probably the least racist and most compassionate towards multiple races and cultures. It's really not a big issue...a issue yes but not what it's made out to be by the media.

Pretty sure every example you gave wasnt at the BEGINNING of our country. Slavery and what not wasnt a big part for a couple decades later.


Also yes racism still and alwasy will exist. But its was alot better before obama

Did I say every issue was there from the beginning? No, I didn't, but racial issues have been. You can cherry pick examples and minimize as much as you want, but it doesn't change the fact it's always been there.

Again, exposure is the difference between now and pre-Obama. The fact that you think it's worse now because of Obama almost makes you a lost cause. I guess those race riots, segregation laws, housing denial, etc. all never happened.

I feel that media and obama made the race relations worse. Example of obama stepping in and commenting on a the treyvon martin case, that didnt need yo be done. It was not a "hate" crime or race driven and yet because of the media and obama we have riots over it. This has done nothing but to continue grow during his presidency. Yes there was racism going on before but i beleieve it was getting better.

Thanks you for actually having an intelligent adult debate with me. As i definitely could be wrong, i was laying out my opinion. Just like you did, and you are definitely entitled to it. I have done very very little name calling in this thread but seem to get it alot. So i much respect actually having a productive debate, even if you dont agree.

It was an opinion, based on my observations that i gave an example to prove, not a statement based on statistics. So ya it was how i felt. Just like the orginal statement i stated that i BELIEVED it was getting before obama. Bow all this could definitely be wrong.

Show me statistics prove me wrong, please im open minded. Just dont be like trump and name call you way out of backing up your thoughts. Or debate with your opinions like an adult.

Whom insulted whom first again?

You may have been shielded, but it's ALWAYS been part of this country. Unless you're going to blame Obama for the increased prevalence for camera phones and social media, that is the thing that's changed since 2008. Things are better now, but there's still so much that needs to be done to even approach anything that could be remotely labeled equality.
