Mauro DiPasquale recommends a 4g combination total per day - 3g LCLT or other type, and 1g ALCAR. LCLT enters circulation the quickest, that's why it's used in a lot of studies. He did a whole show on it, on SHR.

I like ALCAR for its benefits concerning cognitive function. I'm a Computer Engineering student and I have taken up to 3g prior to studying. The benefits are noticeable.
