ryane87s ride to awesomeness

I went ahead and started the week with my usual Tuesday chest training. Today I mixed it up. I started with reverse grip bench

Reverse grip bench: 135x5, 155x5, 175x5, 185x5, 195x. Also, widened the grip as lifted67 suggested

Paused wide grip bench: each rep was paused 2 seconds. 170x3 for 3 sets

Reverse grip incline: a beauty of an exercise suggested by lifted67. I really enjoyed this lift. I used lighter weight because I have never tried them.
115x10, 120x9, 125x8

Chest dips: 16, 9, 9 short rest periods. Last 2 sets 2 second pause at bottom

Low pully cable crossovers: 1 set AMRAP

Felt like I put in a decent day. Threw in some pallof presses and leg raises as I am trying to get more ab work in

How do you like the reverse grip? Is it making a difference in your chest development?

I've always liked them for upper chest development. Once you get used to them, it's awesome

Yeah they take alot of delt assistance out of the equation! Glad you guys are digging em!

Back day today. I started with 90° bent-over-barbell rows again666 Strength keeps going up in this exercise each week

90° bent-over-barbell rows: 190x7, 195x5, 195x6, and 155x9 with 2 second pauses at the top of each rep

Pull-up strength felt off today, so I did what I did last session and added a couple of reps for 64 total reps, 38 coming with extra weight. I didn't get as many reps as I wanted in my 1st set my shoulders hated me

One arm cable rows: 60x10, 65x8, 65x9. Just something a little different. I like other variations better but was running short on time. The pull-ups kicked my ass and this guy kept talking to me. I haven't had music for about a week and now I will DEFINITELY remember my ear phones tomorrow!

Finished with some uneventful face pulls. Time was running out.

I wanted to get more out of today. I will just plan better and get at it next week

Lol I hate when random people do that when I forget my earbuds. I try to be nice but only have so much patience. Put your earphones next to your shorts or shoes so you don't forget them.

What kind do you guys got?

I have the Jabra pulse and they'd rock but between the volume limit on them and my iPod I can't blast my tunes at an unreasonable level, kind of irritating lol

Dude I can't do more than about 4/5 max. They make a wireless version of these. They're reasonably priced as well.

I'm thinking it might just be my old ass iPod that's to blame.

I got some bluetooth no names off online for dirt cheap that get the job done. Even when i forget to charge them i wear them to drown out the bubble gum pop playing at my "hardcore" gym. Also its much less likely that some annoying person will want to talk to you if you got your budz in! Lol

Sometimes my phone will die and I just leave them in lol. I've gone through whole sessions like that.

I hear that, I like listening to Hans Zimmer (Man of Steel, Dark Knight, Interstellar) when I do cardio, go ahead and laugh, and while my music usually plays at a decent volume, these instrumental tracks are barely audible, frustrates me.

Hey everyone has their own workout music. Not as strange as some I've heard.

Lmao. Very true. I knew this dude that listened to Backstreet Boys & Nickelback the whole session. Needless to say, I was always on the opposite side of the gym till we were done. He was also the guy singing along and grunting loud as hell the whole time.

Yeah I don't lift with him anymore. His headphones had a button that turned them into speakers. He would walk over and press the button so it would be blasting some ridiculous **** lmao
Talk about ***** repellant.

I would but my wife always ganks them, says the dogs ate hers....

It is like you are on an adventure! Mine is usually like pantera, pre-black album metallica, hatebreed....stuff like that

Thats not bad at all. That type of music is great at naturally calming the heart rate. I however, have an unusual choice, but only when running. When I jog I actually have a collection of 50 of the greatest Military cadences. Just sayin

Don't get me wrong, I have Metallica, White Zombie, and Killswitch Engage on their too, it's just tracks like Flight from MoS, Rise from Dark Knight, and No Time for Caution make me feel like a super hero during cardio...

In the other end of the spectrum; another good cardio one is Beautiful Pain by Eminem.

That + a stim pre and I would be going crazy on the weights lol.

My running playlist matches beats per minute to how fast I run. So starts off at 6 mph pace, then 7, 7.5, 8, 7 and so on. Work's pretty good at keeping me from burning out too quick. (And yes, there might be some Brittany in there)

Lol. We ALL know there is.

Shoulders and tris today. DID NOT go as planned. The wife was in a hanging out mood, I had to get up even earlier because I had to go to work earlier. So I went to bed super late and got about 5 hours of sleep. I would like 7 at least and haven't even gotten that on a regular basis in years. I don't know how some of y'all do it.

So I only had about 35 minutes to train, which sucked. Normally these types of sessions I don't even bother to record because they are kinda depressing haha

Dumbbell shoulder press/lying 45° tricep extension superset: 1st set 60x8/40x12 2nd set 60x8/50x10 3rd set 65x7/50x10 4th set 65x5/50x10 felt like a struggle already haha

Standing laterals/cambered bar pressdown superset 1st set 25x10/100x11 2nd set 25x10/110x10 3rd set same 4th set same

Dumbbell front raises/reverse grip pressdown superset 1st set 25x10/90x10 2nd set same

That is all the time I had for a rather unforgettable workout. 20 sets of various work in 35 minutes haha

Honestly, Eminem's love the way you lie is a great workout song. He does anger so well, I just want to find someone's wife and beat the carp out of her. Haha.

Great job getting in a workout and not making excuses brother. Nothing to be depressed about there. You can do a good workout in 20 minutes if that is all you have and you push hard.

But again, better than not going at all. Stop selling yourself short, still some impressive numbers! Yall's crappy workouts make my normal ones look pathetic. Side note regarding sleep; the best sleep I've had in a while was while I was running AlphaMax XT. Been off it for the last week and my sleep is back to about 5 hours on a good night. I've tried most everything before, but nothing worked as well as AlphaMax for some reason.

Mine isn't not being able to sleep, it's the family keeping me up with random sht to do. Life gets in the way a lot

I appreciate the good words. I get disappointed in these types of workouts because of what I am pushing towards

I couldn't agree more. You could do a lot in 20-30 minutes.

When I only have 20 or 30 minutes like I did today, I drop the reps and up the weight a little to get the most out of it.

I thought about, but then I start second guessing if I am getting good work in. I think next week will be better

3 out of 4 posters think you're a stud. The other one is you.

(Sounds to me like maybe you're just wrong!)

Do you use ZMA ? That and the Murcia are good for sleep. Add in some gala and you will be out for 8 hours easy.

Haven't tried that combo, but I certainly will. ZMA and 5HTP would sometimes get me 6-7 hours, but not regularly.

Love those underhand front raises, I do a variation to hit upper chest more as my front delts are so imbalanced.

I don't mind that one but if I want to get really jacked, I listen to this...Invalid Link Removed

for what its worth, coming from me, I think you're doing a h3ll of a job, regardless of time frame. As far as family goes, not sure how old your "family" is, but Ive been married 17 years and have a 15 year old son, it gets no better. So by you pushing yourself to squeeze something in, itll always be a habit to be highly productive in a given time slot. Youre killing it man, and have no reason to carry your head anywhere but high!

Make sure you don't overdo the zma ...more isn't better. The right dose will help you stay asleep. A lot of people overdo it and then think it doesn't work.

I will give a listen. I listen to a lot of Joe Satriani...so I am a little different
