Intedasting. I can respect - even if appalled - your rankings. Mine are fairly different as you can infer.

Also, limited batch pints don't count. We are trying to add discipline to this exercise; otherwise, people could start including retired flavors and we'll have very non-comparable lists.

1. PB World
2. Chubby Hubby
3. Cinnamon Buns
4. Milk & Cookies
5. Everything But The
6. PB Cup

in for your list :)

My list probably looks "something" like:

1. Chubby Hubby
2. Cinn Buns
3. Milk & Cookies
4. Tonight Dough
5. PB Fudge Core
6. Everything but the
7. Boston Cream
8. Choc Therapy
9. Coconut Core
10. PB World

I say "something" because outside of the top 4, we are talking about pints that I re-scoop maybe 3-4 times a year so none of them particularly stand out.

that leaves out ---> Candy bar pie, oatmeal cookie chunk, brownie ale, Gingersnap, coconut 7 layer bar, What a Cluster.

And many other greats but the point here is for us to be able to have a conversation, not to show off our sophisticated ice cream palates...so we need common ground...

Edit:
Crap. Forgot to fit in Pecan Sticky Buns...
It takes spot 6 and bumps Chocolatta off my list

Really like boom Choc too, on any given day it makes my list

The white toast and sour cream sound

What I admire about Salt & Straw is they think outside the box. They are expensive and yes some flavors can be hit or miss. Their quality and their ice cream bases are top notch, mix-ins can be hit or miss, but honestly you are buying top grade ice cream.
Ample Hills on the other hand, they don't need to get too fancy, they just make good ass F'in ice cream, and are extremely consistent with ludicrous mix-ins.

Tough to say, but AH/Graeters/S&S have to be my top 3 companies out there...

Once we get settled into our new home in going to have to order from S&S. Is there a minimum? Will only have so much room for pints of icecream... Babies breast milk takes up the rest

5 pack pint, will come out to 115$ with shipping.
Ample Hills around 73-80$ with shipping.

AH makes fun and delicious basic betch ice cream, but in terms of innovation and ingredient sourcing they are not even close to S&S. If you look at each of S&S's flavors, there is a story behind every ingredient and the exclusive manufacturer that it comes from. The only other company that can compete with them in those aspects is Van Leeuwen; however, they don't ship nationally the rotational flavors nationally and charge even more per pint at scoop shops.

Is ordering from S&S expensive? Of course, but the price per pint (without including shipping) is fair (looking at competitors, cost of sourcing, research, etc.) and I'm guessing that the shipping deal they have is about as good as it can get for someone their size.

Does that mean that it's right for everyone? No. But if you are a fan of ice cream then a) you give high importance to consuming great versions of this item and b) can appreciate the difference between lower and higher quality offerings. To someone who doesn't meet these criteria, they'd rather go out and spend the ~$20 per pint on a dish at an "average" restaurant.

Bold = 100% agree.

Hey i rather spend my money on ice cream, then be a typical american who blows 20$ a day in cigs and booze..
Priorities haha

Salt & Straw Wildflower Honey w/ Ricotta Walnut Lace Cookies

Oregon extracted bee honey laced into fantastic vanilla ricotta ice cream packs a dense amount of flavor in each spoonful. The cookies were decadent and gave this a perfect compliment. For being frozen into an ice cream the quality of the cookies tasted like they were still fresh from a bakery. For a flavor I did not order I came away a happy camper. If you love sweet and salty combinations this is a pint you will want to look for as a future limited edition flavor.

Graeters Blueberry Pie is back!

Invalid Link Removed

Should be popping in my local grocery stores soon too. Last few years they shipped them out to supermarkets not just online or in scoop shops only.

I thought it was decent at best. I would give it a B- grade. The base was good mix-ins of blueberries and graham crackers were lackluster for graeters. Maybe I got a bad pint. I got double the amount of graham cracker in my S'mores.

Probably will pick this up if I see it. Gf Maine blueberry was so good and this has potential to be similar

I hope that they have the sense to put those blueberries in some kind of candied/pie filling form.

If it's straight up fresh blueberries, they'll be icy as it always happens with unadulterated fruit.

When I had Elena Blueberry they were not icy, have you ever had it? its a decent flavor. I personally think a lot of the other flavors on the line are better.

Like S'mores you get nice chunks of graham cracker pieces throughout it. Mine lacked blueberries when I had it, but you don't always get a great pint. I have had some of the original chocolate chip pints that had very small shards, and then i got some other pints (like buckeye) with a 2oz Chunk of chocolate in the middle.

Not had it but have had lots of experience with fresh fruit in ice cream. Strawberries are the most notorious for getting icy (high water content vs. other fruits such as bananas possibly).

This issue is...one of the many...reasons I can't stand B&J's Straw Cheesecake pint.
