Stretching

Do you guys stretch after a gym session?
What are some good stretches I should do everyday? I'm starting to feel tight and unable to move as much.

I don't stretch as much as I do mobility. Maybe quad and ham stretches, hip stretches via OLY wall squats, and foam rolling that I don't do enough of. If I had time I'd do yoga again.

I do ROMWOD every day. It's basically yoga for athletes. You can google it. It's about $15/mo to subscribe and all the programming is laid out for you. And I believe you can get a month for free so you can try the weekly programming to see if you notice any progress. I've noticed specifically improvements in my hips/glutes and ankles, which has really helped with my squatting and olympic lifting. Can't hurt to check it out, esp since it's free.

I'll check it out thank you!

Mobility?

Mobility work is ensuring the body moves properly through all its joints but especially in certain correct human movement patterns. It is much more valuable then standard static stretching.

In fact static stretching has very little practical or function carry over to almost anything we do in the gym.

Youtube Kelly Starrett and google mobility in general and you will see what we are referring too.

In short, it is tuning the human body to move properly and efficiently.

Call me funny but I do yoga one day a week and just some basic stretches after workouts (touch the toes, stretch the shoulder out by putting my arm on a door frame and leaning, grabbing the leg from behind, etc..). I find the yoga routine is amazing. Supposed to lengthen the muscles and it does increase my flexibility

Tons of different things you can do for literally every joint in the body. I'm sure you can find something to help.
