College Classes (going to kick my a$$)

So I've had my fair share of wake up calls in life. I've had a few in school as well, getting a D in Precal, barely passing stats... But this class is supposed to be the hardest class at my college, second only to organic chemistry. Any guesses? Before I tell you the answer, here were the first few words out of my professors mouth:

"I'm gonna be honest, I'm old. I've seen a few things like the civil war. I'll tell you that 75% of you, yes at least 3/4 of you will fail this class"

I would have laughed, because he looked old enough to have seen the civil war, but the last part was like a swift kick to the balls.

There's a reason why the business school at my college has less then a 50% sucess rate, the killer is Accounting.

So I figured I'd document my struggle, update it whenever **** hits the fan. Because what's better then watching someone struggle miserably for a passing grade? Nothing! That's right.
 
First Sh* Hit the Fan post (aka SHF post) my book cost me a bloody $205 to RENT! The damn thing isn't even bound, it's loose leaf. Didn't feel like paying another $50 for 2 pieces of cardboard with some fancy graphics and glue.
 
Just finished up my masters degree in accounting a couple weeks ago. Was a TA for business stats and tutored kids in statistics in my undergrad.
I can try and help you out.

But some words of advise from someone who just went through all that struggle. It's worth it. The all nighters, library dates on Friday and Saturday nights while all your friends are at the bars, and all the hell and unfun stuff will ultimately lead you to a good job.

-develop a routine that builds healthy habits(in bed early, wake up early, ect)

-priorities (need to learn to say "no" to the bars or even GYM haha if you need to study)

-ditch the losers (some people are just in college to have fun/party and will drag you down with them)

Remember, the tough challenges and hard courses are what makes you valuable. You got this. I'm not that smart but graduated with 3.8 gpa undergrad and 3.6 gpa grad school just by putting in the effort.
 
Orgo is the hardest class with a 70%+ fail rate and probably another 10% withdraw rate. Then you have accounting 65% fail, 10-15% withdraw before it's too late. Then there's anatomy and philology right after with probably a sold 70% fail and withdraw rate combine...

And I'm taking 3 of the 4...

Thanks for the link! I'll def be checking out the anatomy and phisiology books they have as well as the Chem book.

At the same time? That's stupid IMO.
That'd be like me taking Oil and Gas, Federal Income Tax, a writing clinic, moot court, and mock trial. Those are the kids that go from top 5 to forced bar classes because they're in the bottom 25%.

You're setting yourself up for failure.

No I'm taking the 3 spread out over 2 semesters. I'm required to take accounting this semester for my business major, and I have to take physiology this semester because it's a stepping stone for my exercise science major.

Phys lab will be taken next semester with anatomy and anatomy lab.
