I dont think he was saying you were or even anyone in here. Rather some people in America are voting due to memes and tv. Which is a big reason why hiltery still has a chance, as the media portrays every democrat, that is the parties candidate as a "god"; that cant mess up. Thats the only reason why Obama won over Romney.

Depends on what media station you are watching because both sides do it. Things might be a bit more complicated this election with Trump and Fox though

Nope, I'm pretty sure people still vote based off platforms, social/fiscal views, mental fortitude and character. Except in this election, we have none (minus the 3rd parties). I don't take Jen Stein seriously though because she pushes pseudo-science hippy nonsense, and is a science denier.

Yes expect there is more extreme liberal media that supports democrats then rebulicans. Not saying that there arent any for Republicans, just rather there is so much more for democrats. Almost every tv show that inputs on politics support democrat beliefs. There are also more news source that are liberal. Lastly most mediators of recent presidental debates are biased to democrats.

I could agree with that, especially for this election. I'm already in the mode where I just say screw it, let's try again in 4 years.

Exactly. So the time to solve a simple math problem goes up exponentially because you have to multiply by a smaller number, then do simple addition. What if it is 13x14, or anything like that?

It's funny because I see people singing the times table songs for something like 8x7 because the only way they learnt was through that song.

Are you saying that there's a faster way to solve 12x13 in my head? It takes me about one second to do the mental math there. Even a similar method for 13x14 (I mentally just did 14x10 + 14x3, or 13x10 + 13x4) only takes a second or two in my head. Without writing it out on paper or using a calculator, how would you propose solving 13x14 in your head?

I guess that is why fox is the most watched cable news network...dems and libs have lots of choices, you want to see thing from a conservative point of view fox is the only choice...and lots of the reporters on fox are even liberal, and openly anti-trump.

I think I have this election cycle figured out (likely not, but it's a good theory lol). Perhaps the GOP is playing the long game. They nominated Trump in order to steer everyone in Hillary's direction, hoping to turn off EVERYONE from the Democratic Party after the next 4 years, in the hopes the GOP will come back to rise again with extra support in those 4 years.

There are so many Republicans who are switching sides this election, and so many people seem to want to steer clear of Trump. Maybe they see that Hillary will cause a sour taste in everyone's mouths, and in 4 years, the GOP will win by a landslide with someone much greater than they've offered this voting cycle.

I don't know about that. Plenty of people are already upset/dissatisfied with Obama. Pretty much any run of the mill Republican would have provably beat Clintion this election. I don't think the GOP "wanted" Trump. The people voted for him, so the party nominated him. I don't think he was their ideal/first choice, but everyone else running dropped out, and Trump won the primary, so it would have caused problems to just nominate someone else. What you proposed sounds more like a "silver lining" the GOP is thinking to not feel so bad.

True, but it's a good thought lol. I'm not a fan of the GOP, but they need to start playing the long game now for the sake of their party. They need change, even though they're typically against change. But nothing radical.

this isn't over yet...as good as the dems are at spin even they won't be able to spin away the Clinton foundation scandals-they are coming, I would bet on it!!!

You're right. The establishment GOP does deserve to have 15 of the other candidates lose because they failed to actually carry through with their campaign promises that put them in control of Congress. They never thought Trump would make it this far. Go back to the first debate and they hammered Trump about signing the loyalty pledge to support whoever does win. You can only legislate against the will of the voters for so long, then you will have a day of reckoning. Or the dems wilql continue to cheat in the elections and they still lose. What happened to the GOP number 2 guy, Eric Cantor? He got smoked and sent home by a candidate on a $10,000 campaign.
 
Let me clarify. The candidates that lost didn't fail to keep campaign promises. But most were clearly establishment chosen candidates, and the voters didn't want them.

But I still want to know why in the heck would the GOP allow someone like Trump to represent them and run?
I know they didn't expect him to win, so why even bother allowing him to represent them? He does not even represent the core of what the GOP stands for.

did you know that some states have no requirement for any identification to vote. you could vote there, hell anyone who steps foot on American soil on election day can vote there.

this election is about a supreme court justice, at least 1, probably more. if Hillary is elected you can bet that every illegal immigrant in this country will be granted voting rights and the supreme court will uphold it!!! the republicans who are not supporting trump are ignorant morons, if trump losses there will never be a republican president again....this is the final stand for the republican party!!!

I could probably get away with voting in certain states, but I don't want to do so illegally lol

But I think if Trump loses, people will get turned off the Democrats for a bit after Hillary... I don't see it as the end. Maybe the beginning of a new Progressive Conservative Party?

I do see this election as a step forward for 3rd parties though.

I don't see any way that minorities are ever gonna vote republican....and if Hillary allows illegals to vote they are going to be loyal to the dems no matter what kind of shlt they pull. look at all the pandering and promises Hillary has made to minorities, hell ass kissing is more like what Hillary has done!!!

and anyone who follows politics knows that a liberal supreme court is going to lean over backwards to stack things in favor of the liberal democrats...I say it again, this is the last stand for the republican party.

If Hillary wins a 3rd party will rise up to replace the republican party-this is what I see happening!!!

I hope gary Johnson and jill stein make it to the debates...I've heard that jill stein despises Hillary and would put her donkey behind her cart, lol.

you can bet that Hillary is pulling strings to keep stein and Johnson out of the debates, which means it probably won't happen. between crooked Hillary and dirty Obama nothing they don't want is going to happen...the dems are a crooked/dirty bunch!!!

Because the most voters elected him in the primaries. Neither party gets "a say" in who represents them. Candidates put their name on the ballot and gather the required number of signatures in each state to do so. Then the primary elections decide it. Not the party.
 
Honestly, I feel that, despite the vast advances we've made in recent decades that allow us to easily access unprecedented amounts of information and knowledge, the average voter/American is probably less politically aware/knowledgeable now than they were decades ago. A little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing. People watch/read the news on the TV/internet (mass media) and think that they're becoming politically aware, when, in reality, what they are reading is heavily biased and influenced to the left or right (it doesn't really matter which side). Plus, people see something on the internet (especially if it's on a website) and assume it's inherently true, when it's often BS (most people don't know how easy it is to put information on the internet and/or make a website).

Does anyone here think that the average voter knows anything about how the candidates they are voting for/against have actually acted as politicians (how they've voted, laws they've proposed/supported/opposed, what their actual stances on issues are, etc)? It's 2016; it's easy to go on the internet and become relatively educated/informed easily (and for free), but most people don't do this. Most people stick to the news source that agrees with their right/left views, and relies on them for information, assuming that they're getting unbiased analysis.

That's my rant for now, haha. As for how Trump managed to win the primary, I've said one possibility before. Lots of people are sick and tired of "politicians," and are upset with Obama AND Bush. Lots of republicans also don't like the whole PC thing going on today. So when someone like Trump comes along, someone who clearly isn't a polished "career politician," and is definitely not PC, people rally behind him, because people want change (Obama anyone?), and they view Trump as a new course for America and American politics; I'd argue that many people are voting for the "idea of Trump" (as a candidate/politician who isn't) more than they're voting for Trump because they agree with his stances on key issues.
