can IF build muscle or its only use is for losing fat?

Above all it will always be calories in calories out. I would imagine if would.not be the most optimal though.

IF is just an eating schedule people follow for lifestyle reasons. It can be used in a caloric deficit or surplus. I personally do not like it during a bulk. COnsuming too much food in a smaller window does not sit well with me. It is personal preference.

You can gain muscle on an IF diet, however it won't be of the bulking variety. Slow and steady is more like it.

You can always switch to IF after you bulk up to trim some of the fat.

To be fair its not just for lifestyle preferences.

And i certainly agree with you as far as eating that volume in a short period of time. I didnt even think of that!

You guys and your little stomachs ;)

I do IF year round, strictly out of convenience and the fact that I have a massive appetite/capacity.

As said above, cals in v out is king. And you can still time your meal(s) around your workout if you really want to optimize

I love IF. Been doing it for like 3 months or so now. Haven't lost any strength or muscle that I can tell and I'm the leanest I've been in like 4 years right now. I love it and will probably do it year round from now on. My strength has actually increased and I took measurements of my biceps, legs, chest, and waistline when I started. All measurements increased except the waistline which decreased

Wow, a thread where everyone is correct. :) IF is great for shedding fat, is convenient, and you can bulk or run maintenance on it. I get in 3500 maintenance calories on it in 2 large meals and a snack but can easily up that if needed and throw in another meal. I've been running 16/8 for about 3 years now and love it.

An 8 hour window seems very do-able

Not so much a little stomach, I can eat a lot in one sitting. However, my legs and stomach get a little fluffy which I don't like.

I go with a 9 hour window or 11 hour on Sunday's due to my Sunday job. Here is a good article on two different eating windows.

I have been doing a 22/2 scheme on my cardio only days. Ive been using mega dosed amino and humapro for my meal. I have been seeing incredible results.

The nice thing is just that, cutting g back on the feed window is really easy once you have it within 8 hours and can have big results. I've cut back to a 4-5 hour window and you just shred up. I prefer a little longer, but nice to have an easy option.

That's how I did it. Over about 4-5 months slowly backed and downsized my first meal. Now I eat usually one meal while I relax in the evenings. So convenient.
