Pulling out of the Eu is one of the worst possible things GB could have done, moreover it was an extremely miscalculated move from David Cameron. Financial institutions with strong ties to London are already considering jumping ship (foregin banks have already started shifting operations to EU), tech founders will consider moving hubs outside GB, and many other large corporations will consider moving bases outside GB. European markets are tanking, and financial institutions are still recovering from the last recession, not more than 8 years ago.
The world markets dropped 2.8 TRILLION in 1 day.
It's a **** show that GB would allow such a decision to put to public vote and place no super majority voting structure on it. Roughly 50% of GB populous are under educated, and many didn't even know what the EU was before voting. David Cameron wanted an even playing field because he was certain he would win his gamble for the remain vote, putting the issue of the EU to rest for the rest of his tenure, but he underestimated the growth of the leave campaign and didn't do enough to counter the 350 million euro a week claim the leave campaigners made (which they lied about).
It's still early days, but Quora and other sites are blowing up about how disastrous this is likely to be.
The UK will likely fall apart, and even London wants independence from Britain. The latter won't occur, but it goes to show just how divided the country became overnight.
