I guess I am guilty of a few flops myself...all my life I thought gays were perverted and evil and had no tolerance for them-now I have become much more tolerant...I was also pro-life, now I understand the need for abortion and support planned parenthood...I used to be very pro gun, but I now see that some limitation is necessary....

Changing your mind is fine and allowed in politics, but consistency is supposed to matter. If Obama came out tomorrow and said he was a small government conservative people would say your history doesn't say that. Yet with Trump his supporters have zero problem ignoring how often he has supported big government liberal causes.
If I was against guns my whole life then decided to run as a republican and said I love the NRA I would expect people to question me. It seems as if the American people are deciding not to question Trump because they believe in the idea of him. You could easily argue the same thing of President Obama in 08.
Trump's views on tons of things are completely diametrically opposed to his past views. These type of things usually don't happen with people. Throw in his complete lack of policy ideas (I will negotiate) and I simply don't see how one can feel confident in hoping he wins.

At best Trump is a collection of right wing fantasy. A man who can simply shift his positions around so you can't attack him on any of them. How can you attack a politicians stances when no one has any idea what those stances actually are? Your post is a collection of things Donald Trump has said which if we go off his extensive history of inconsistency he may say the EXACT opposite tomorrow. Any why not? The electorate isn't asking questions, they are EATING THIS UP.
I'd be hard pressed to find consistency in any area from him yet. Even his rhetoric against illegal immigration has softened big time and is now very difficult to pin down what he thinks.
Sometimes he says stuff I agree with, but I always catch myself wondering how good is his word? This is a man who is "America First and anti-China" while making his products overseas laughing at how gullible Republicans have became.
I could be completely wrong, but based simply off his convoluted positions and history as a liberal I can't see how he became the darling of the "conservative" Republicans.
Trump in 2010 on immigration: "You have American interests hiring [illegal immigrants], absolutely. And many cases, they’re great workers. The biggest problem is you have great people come in from Mexico working crops and cutting lawns that I’m not sure a lot of Americans are going to take those jobs. That’s the dichotomy. That’s the problem. You have a lot of great people coming in doing a lot of work. And I’m not so sure that a lot of other people are doing that work, so it’s a very tough problem."
Trump in 2012 on immigration: "For people that have been here for years that have been hard-workers, have good jobs, they’re supporting their family — it’s very, very tough to just say, ”By the way, 22 years, you have to leave. Get out.” … I have to tell you on a human basis, how do you throw somebody out that’s lived in this country for 20 years."
It's crazy how the moment he runs for the party of illegal immigration loons (which he was essentially never a part of and donated to liberal causes) he COMPLETELY changes his stance.

the main difference with trump and Hillary is he has no political track history....he has never voted for any law or legislation. even though he is a political candidate they refer to him as businessman Donald trump, as a private citizen I see no difference between him changing his view as I do my own change of view. Hillary on the other hand has voted on laws and made executive decisions as a senator and secretary of state. if trump is elected president then you can hold him to what he says, imo.
personally I like the idea of someone who if they see something better are willing to change versus someone unwilling to budge even though they realize they might be on the wrong side of things.

Hillary, in the very least, has some class, dignity and refinement.
Trump acts, talks and behaves like a 15yr old low class brat, not very befitting of a president of arguably the most powerful country in the world. He doesn't belong in parliament whatsoever.

Hillary is pretty much a known quantity is she not? Hawkish on foreign policy, represents the status quo fiscally, has a long record making it easy to see what she has done while in power positions. Most of what she supports aside from a few social positions I'm against. She inspires no one.
Don't get it twisted, putting down Trump is in no way of supporting his likely opponent. I just think Trump is narcissistic and honestly comes off like he has dementia. He's wealthy and has treated the primary process like he's a WWE character. I don't want our President to be on Twitter calling people out and having public feuds with journalists. If people have done similar things in the past that isn't an excuse.
I'm really probably most embarrassed that the GOP had an amazing chance to run someone who is socially liberal and fiscally conservative and cake walk this election and they didn't do it. The Democrats ran the crazy old aunt and the Republicans ran your loony (can you believe he said that in public) uncle. He's a COMPLETELY unknown when going off his statements and has seriously said we are going to commit war crimes and default on the debt. Think about that. One of your two choices has said we will commit war crimes and we can default on our debt.
And one of these two is going to win. Our two party system is completely broken and leaving us with pathetic choices. And I'm probably most mad at the GOP who had the PERFECT opportunity to run a clear headed person who could have pragmatic solutions to problems.

Trump called out for the assassination of Snowden rather than taking sides of the people when government lied about spying on us. I know who's side he is on and its not mine.
