Caffeine on empty stomach?

Is caffeine most effective on an empty stomach or can you still eat food and have it be pretty much just as effective? I've heard arguments for both, and am interested in others opinions. Thanks in advance, God bless.
 
I can't really tell that much of a difference so I don't think there's much of an effect. I usually have my pre workout on an empty stomach though just so it will kick in harder.

Depends on your tolerance.
Caffeine on an empty stomach for me causes jitters and the sh1ts.
Taken with food I still feel the benefits but without the negative sides.

Just listen to your body.
 
It might make your stomach upset. It's hit or miss for me, sometimes caffeine on an empty stomach wrecks me.

Either way you'll have absorption and be fine.

I am the SAME WAY. If I take a pre on an empty stomach I am running for the bath 1/2 hr later. I always try to get in a meal prior to taking my pre workout
 
Personally I always try to carb up before lifting, I'll drink my pwo 10-15 minutes after eating & about 20 minutes before my workout.
Though days that I don't get to eat before lifting I don't notice any serious adverse effects. Maybe a bit more jittery but nothing unmanageable. I just do less rest time between sets to settle in.
I've never take a pwo that causes me to have to run to the bathroom & I've tried plenty of them.
I think it's all going to be user defendant & there is no real clean cut guidelines, every bodies body will react differently.

I eat 1-2 hours before I lift and am taking in carbs pre and intra anyways

i like how i feel when i take it with meal or snack.
other wise tummy can get upset at times if taken alone.
 
I prefer it on an empty stomach, I feel that it hits harder. But it is still effective if taken with food. If I'm using a preworkout I don't mind taking it around a meal, but if I'm using a thermogenic or fat burner I will try to dose it as far away from food as possible.

Are you talking about caffeine in terms of overall energy, or to be used as a preworkout stimulant?

Mostly energy to smash extra reps in the gym. Thanks for the replies everyone, seems like most enjoy food with theirs and having no less effect
