HCG 100iu ED and Test Cyp 50mg 2x Week

Had an appointment with Dr John Crisler (who is now with Defy Medical) via phone on Monday....

I've been on Test Cyp injections for approximately 4 or 5 years now. We've had two daughters in the last 6 or so years (one is 5 and one is 3--also had a miscarriage before our first). For two pregnancies, it happened naturally, and for the other I did a short stint of Clomid, since I had started TRT between my oldest daughter and my youngest.

Dr Crisler is having me take 100iu of HCG every day while continuing my 50mg injections twice per week. I'm very excited about his willingness to try this before just pulling me off testosterone completely (that's what the urologist wanted to do--then go with HCG only).

Has anyone had any experience with a similar protocol for fertility?

I was on 100mg Test C once a week with 500iu of hcg twice a week. With no luck I will be dropping test soon, Even with the HCG I could tell the test was shutting me down somewhat at 100mg a week. Im sure everyone is different.

At one point I was on 0.5ml/wk test cyp and 1ml every other day of hcg, and my average count went from 2m to 20m, and both motility and morphology were vastly improved. As explained to me by my urologist, adding in the hcg keeps the testosterone from shutting down your natural production of swimmers, so you can feel great without risking your chances of having kids. In the end, we still had to do an IVF cycle to have our son, and impending two other kids, but it was certainly well worth it.

Actually, no. She checked out as good to go on every test to confirm it wasn't just me. In our IVF cycle, she produced 18 viable eggs, but even with the best of my best boys, only 3 advanced to the blastocyst stage after being fertilized. She got pregnant on the first embryo implanted, resulting in our now one year old son, and we're cautiously optimistic that we'll have our 2nd child next spring after we implant embryo #2 in May.

I think it's better when only one of the two people needs help with improving fertility. At least it was for us, and a few friends of ours. In any case, you should know pretty quickly if it's helping. It only took 3 months(at most) for mine to improve at least to something that could potentially get a woman pregnant.
