hold up, not 50 yet, but age is nothing more than a label that we have the ability to manipulate. I may be 41, but I am in the ABSOLUTE BEST physical and mental condition of my life. Why and how? Its because I am finally at peace and happy. I've suffered enough thru addiction and I've caused enough pain to my love ones....I refuse to continue that lifestyle and waste my precious life along with damaging my love ones. I am lucky that my love ones stuck with me through dark nights and days. The relationship I have with my wife is priceless. I can honestly say she not only loves me, but likes to be around me. My 5yr old son tells me he loves me many times each day. What more can you ask for? With that said, I DECIDED TO BETTER my life my getting back into shape which started last May. Then last Oct I got my testosterone checked 3 or 4 times and each time it. Mine t levels were between 145 and 245 (normal 345-1197). My t levels were so low due to chronic (10 yrs) opiate abuse. Then it took me about 5 years to get clean and to feel like a human again. PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome) is a B!tch to be recon with.

Getting sober changed my life and pointed me the right direction. TRT fined tuned it and is giving me back the 15 years that I lost as an addict/recovering addict.

Now a days, I have few beers every so often. I haven't had a drink since seahawks lost to panthers which I only had 1 beer. I honestly believe that since my testosterone is in the normal range, I have no desire to chemically change my mind/mood. I still consume THC almost daily legally, but lately its been less and less..

Day 4 Jan 30

1 scoop with 30oz of water. I sipped on before and during workout.


Comments: I think I found my sweet spot. 30oz of water plus 1 scoop, definitely not too sweet, but just enough for me. I usually like to water down my mixes because it forces me to consume more water. Yesterday was Squat Day, but I forgot my lifting belt, so I only workout on machines. I was still able to get a good baseline of how strong my legs are or should I say "were" because I know I'll be stronger at end of this run. I don't lift heavy for my hammys because I feel that between deadlifts, back extensions (I flex my glutes to raise my back) & lower weights w/ higher reps on leg day does the trick. I could be wrong.....whats your thought? Should I train my hammys more on leg day?

Recumbent bike 30mins on HILLs at level 10 to get my legs warmed up. Then 20 BW squats.

Planet Fitness has 1 Leg Press Machine in the 30 min area that is different than the other machines. This machine uses your body weight along with weights.

Lunch yesterday. This is sticky rice w/ yellow beans of some sort and pork on inside wrapped in banana leaf. Steamed to cook. I eat it with maple syrup. Good thing I am not concerned with carbs lol, but I wouldn't consume this much carbs in the evening.

This food is mainly consumed around Chinese New Year which is next week.

Really glad to hear you are finally thriving instead of just surviving - it's the best thing you could ever do, for you and your family.

As for hamstring work - if you are squatting to parallel and deadlifting (any variety) weekly you're likely getting a decent stimulus on the hams. Deep leg pressing, hack squats, and even front squats are going to get some good activation as well, just with a more anterior emphasis.

Whether you are getting the results you want is your call. If you are a general athlete adding a glute ham raise is the most natural way to add more hamstring volume. If trying to build explosive posterior power wide boxsquats w a brief pause might be better. And if you just want meatier hammies a simple leg curl machine or some classic RDLs go a long way (and RDLs build grip too).

I've been working on squatting parallel, not every squat is that low, but I am trying. I love me some RDLs on deadlift days....I'll make sure to add few sets on my next deadlift day.

haha. It doesn't look appetizing, but it taste better than it looks. My wife gives me a hard time for eating it without any seasoning.

We hiked Poo Poo Point. This is a popular spot for folks to hang glide and paraglide. I saw few dudes hiking with there paraglide on there backs , but didn't see anybody launch. It took us almost 2 hours to get to top and 1.5 hours to get back to bottom. I piggy backed my son for some of it, but he hiked on his own most of it. He is a BAMF.

I used to hike this in the dark using night vision only. I've gotten lost when it was super foggy and cloudy which makes NVG nearly impossible to use because it requires ambient light and or moon light but when cloudy I turn on my IR illuminator, but it's almost useless in the fog. Kinda like high beams in foggy weather.

Awesome hike! And you look pretty lean man; don't force that much weight on in a month. Unless you're blasting anabolics 7lbs in 4 weeks is gonna be a lot more fat than muscle. Usually anything over 1lb/wk is way too fast to be quality gains.

Thank you for compliment. I've worked very hard to get to where I am at. Only AAS is TRT dose. Yea, your right 7lbs is a lot to ask and I don't want to keep as lean as possible.

I'll revise my weight goal.....161lb by March, so that gives me 4 weeks to gain 3lbs.
 
I forgot to mention that I sipped on 1 scoop DIESELADE while on my hike. Usually I would have to eat a snack of some sort when I reached the summit, but not this time. My body was content. I could've kept going. I still had plenty of energy left. One thing that stood out was how little effort (except when I had 43lbs of a wiggling kid on my back trying to grab on branches) it was to get to top. On the way down, my toes were hurting because I forgot to trim my toe nails before hand....lesson learned.

Haha. That's how I felt too, but I kept pushing forward. What helped was pretending that we were being chased and that my son's life depended on reaching destination. I had to take a break couple times because my left golfer elbow started to flair up. I tried to only use my right arm but that didn't last too long.


Just got done with 1st workout of day. I usually go to work gym twice when I am at work. I'll update log shortly after snack.
