First Osta cycle

I've been a little tired the last few days ... long days, not enough sleep. That might account for the crappy workout yesterday. I felt like I was running on an empty tank. So I decided on a rest day and an early night, then pick up the pace tomorrow.

Toren mentioned tocotrienol on another thread and I went and read up on it. It looks like it increases testosterone production by increasing the sensitivity to LH of Leidig cells in the testes. Looks like this could be a nice on-cycle-support supplement, or even during PCT.
This weekend I will see if I can pick up some tocotrienol supplements locally.

The role of vitamin E in the endocrine system, in particular the pituitary-gonadal axis, was studied in humans and male rats by examining the hormonal differences between vitamin E deficient and supplemented conditions. In vitamin E deficient rats, pituitary content and basal plasma level of FSH and LH were significantly lower than those of the control rats, but testicular content and basal plasma level of testosterone were not significantly changed. On the other hand, in vitamin E supplemented rats, FSH and LH content in pituitary tissue was significantly higher than that of the controls, but there was no significant rise in basal FSH and LH level in plasma. The testosterone level was significantly elevated in both testicular tissue and plasma. It was also demonstrated that basal plasma testosterone and F.T.I. were increased in normal male subjects following oral vitamin E administration and the responsiveness of plasma testosterone levels to HCG was significantly higher during vitamin E administration than before administration. These results suggest that vitamin E may play an important and potent role in hormone production in the pituitary-gonadal axis in humans and rats.

No, this due to staying up late and getting only 5-6 hours of sleep. Generally, if I get less than 7-8 hours of sleep for more than two days, I start to drag. Last night I got to bed at a decent time and today I was almost back to normal ... it takes me 1-2 days to catch up and get back to normal.
 
Week 4 - Day 25

Yoga was good again today. I love doing it on Osta. It's still challenging, but not feeling as hard. The recovery is amazing.
Today was also weigh day. My weight increased from 173.9 lbs last week to 174.8 lbs today. My waist measurement across the belly button has remained at 33.5". So weight went up, waist is stalled, although I can see a slight improvement in my abs.
So far, I my weight has gone from 168.8 lbs to 174.8 lbs, for a total of 6 lbs and my waist has dropped from 35" to 33.5". Not too shabby, but definitely gunning for a little more. I am not going to put a number to it, because I will always want more, so let's see what the final numbers are.

Osta intrigues me a lot. For one I just started a cycle of it 2 days ago at 10 mg. I plan on bumping it up to 20 mg in a week or so. I have GERD which is gastroesophageal reflux disease. Without fail...whenever i take ostarine it almost completely gets rid of my acid reflux. I can eat whatever I want and heartburn is almost nonexistent. I wish I knew why it was having this positive effect on me

Well I also have really bad acid reflux...and I doubt the Osta has done anything for that. I still get it really bad if I forget to take my reflux medicine (omeprazole)

Do you take the nexium 24 hr OTC? I used to be prescribed nexium for years and decided to give homeopathic remedies a try. If you ever decide to go off look into black seed oil by amazing herbs. I'm not saying I'll be off nexium forever but at the moment I'm ok. I was diagnosed with GERD at 20
 
I have taken nexium but right now I'm taking omeprazole which is basically nexium same family, proton pump etc. I actually have been taking various omega fatty acids as part of my supplement routine and that doesn't seem to help. The only thing is either nexium or omeprazole..I would be taking nexium but it's 40 dollars a month compared to 5 for this stuff
 
Well here is my thinking on this...the Osta which apparently doesn't even shut alot of people is pretty mild. I plan on within 4 to 6 weeks of ending the Osta to run an actual DS/PH...which is obviously going to shut me down. So , in the end I am going to be shut down big time , it seems kinda silly to run real SERMS , just to immediately go into a serious cycle . I've heard good things about Rebirth , that would be basically in the same line as somthing like the APEX MALE right

The only way to know how suppressive Osta was to you, is to do bloods. I would recommend you to run bloods before going down the OTC path. But this is just my 2 cents.
 
Week 4 - Day 28

Today is the end of week 4. I am happy with the results thus far but I am feeling a little ... anxious about the coming end of the cycle in two weeks. Although I realize that Osta gains are modest, I find myself wishing for just a little more. That is always how things start isn't it? A few extra pounds, a few extra inches ...
I have settled on a plan of action for after the end of the sixth week. At the end of the cycle, possibly on the last day or the following, I will get pre-PCT bloods done to see where I stand with test levels, lipids, etc. As it will take a few days to get a reply from the lab, I have decided to run a seventh week with Osta at 12.5mg and add some DAA and bulbine. That will hold me over until I start PCT for realz. If bloods come back not looking too good, I will start Nolva at 20/10/10 or 20/20/10/10 (depending on how "not too good" the results are). If things are mild, I plan to experiment and run an OTC PCT. Jebrook recommended Rebirth and after doing some research, it looks like the E. cottonii holds promise. I was told that Rebirth was formulated on the strengths of ellagic acid, with E.cottonii added in at the last moment as an additional ingredient. From my research though, I have found more literature covering the beneficial effects of E. cottonii than ellagic acid, so I would be taking Rebirth on the strengths of E.cottonii, with ellagic acid as the additional ingredient.
So I plan on taking Rebirth as an OTC SARM and bulbine as an OTC test booster. I am not holding my breath, but I'm still holding out for a hero ... uhh no, holding out for a BLR rep to gift me with a bottle of Rebirth in exchange for logging my PCT and pre- & post-PCT bloods. The chances of that happening are looking as probable as my winning the lottery, but ... hope floats. Unfortunately so does other unsavory stuff.
Anyway, I will log my PCT on this thread for completeness, as this has been one of my pet peeves: lots of half done logs littering the internets. I hope that it will be useful to other people. Other Osta weenies. Not for y'all big burly guys doing all them pro-hormones and asteroids and stuff.

PS. I am just ribbing the BLR reps. I don't expect free stuff. Feel free to flame me on this!

Completely backing off this idea. I had a conversation with a friend who correctly pointed out that continuing to take Osta after drawing blood totally defeats the purpose of getting bloods done. The lab is to get as exact an idea of where I am going into PCT. I might as well just toss a coin, save myself the cost of labs, and pretty much get the same results! So this was a dumb idea.
Therefore once my cycle is over and blood is drawn, the cycle is over. I will take DAA and bulbine until the labs come back with the stone hard facts.
 
I wanted to add a post about my workouts during this cycle. Pretty much, my workouts have been very minimalistic.

The main exercises have been the big three: push-ups, pull-ups and squats, all three body weight exercises. On the push-ups I have done wide hand, diamond hand, raised feet, and am getting slightly over 10 one-arm push-ups, almost all the way to the ground and without twisting my body at any point during the movement. Prior to my Osta cycle I had barely managed 5 and twisting, thus bringing my lats into play. On the pull-ups, I have done reverse grip, neutral grip, and wide grip. While I can easily bang out pull ups on reverse grip and neutral grip, I am closing in on getting 10 pull ups on the wide grip. These are supplemented with shrugs, bent over rows, and kettlebell snatch and press. On the squats, it's just body weight squats and goblet squats, neither of which are dramatically difficult. In addition, I am training in martial arts, empty handed and weapons, twice a week for 2 & 3 hours, and that is what kills my legs. Additionally I do a session of yoga on Sundays ... it's very humbling when your wife is just gliding through the flow while you're sucking wind and sweating like a yak.

My goal for this cycle was to be able to complete 10 one-arm push-ups and 10 wide grip pull-ups. The pull-ups would be equivalent to doing pull-downs of my own weight. At my current weight that is approximately 173 lbs. The push-ups would be equivalent to doing presses of around 75% of my weight per arm, or 150% body weight with both arms combined. At my current weight that is approximately 130 lbs per arm, or about 260 lbs combined. For the squats, the martial arts movements require your legs to be strong enough to drop your ass cheeks to the floor, then be able to lift yourself up on a single leg. At my current weight that is be approximately squatting my body's weight on top of my body weight, or about 346 lbs with both legs combined.
But these are compound body movements so if one muscle group is not pulling its weight (no pun intended) then it's not happening. But my main focus is not on raw poundage (been there, done that), but more on functional strength.

How has your sex drive been?? Mine is through the roof on osta I've been on 5 weeks now..thinking another 2 weeks and I'll be done

I wouldn't say mine was through the roof, but let's say more like special forces: always ready to go into action. On the couple of days I took the bulbine though I was close to reporting myself to the police for sexually abusing myself. But in general I haven't had any decrease in libido or any kind of lethargy. What dose of Osta are you taking?
Looks like we will be done around the same time. I'm at the start of week 5, so two more before calling it a wrap. What is your PCT going to look like?
 
It's Rock Hard supplements Ostashred.. I have some left over Clomid and nolva from a PH cycle but earlier in the thread someone recommended I believe REBIRTH a product that acts similar to a SERM but is over the counter. Also i ll be taking DAA and tribulus for natty test boostetb

Awesome! I am planing Rebirth, bulbine, and DAA for PCT, IF my post-cycle/pre-PCT bloods come back reasonable.

Today was weigh day. My weight increased from 174.8 lbs last week to 176.1 lbs today. My waist measurement across the belly button went from 33.5" last week to 34" today. So weight gains have increased, but waist has gone back up by 0.5".
I am going to reduce my calorie intake for the next week and see if my waist measurements drop. However, my abs are looking a little better, so I'm not too concerned by this measurement.

So far my weight is up 8 lbs and looking better. My wife commented last night that my arms definitely look bigger and asked if my clothes were starting to feel a little tighter. If she noticed, then that means that I must have gained some size and I say this not because it's unusual for her to notice, but because she sees me every day, so it is harder to notice changes.

Definitely starting to feel like a superhero!

Anyone doing Osta notice that stretching is a whole lot less of a struggle? I generally try to do a little bit of stretching in the morning after getting out of the shower, as the muscles are warm. However, every morning has been a struggle. Since starting Osta, I feel that it is a lot easier. Instead of pulling against steel cables, I feel like I'm stretching putty. And no soreness the next day, of course.
 
Week 5 - Day 33

I have stopped taking creatine for the past three days, just to see how much it is contributing overall. Today's workout was a little more challenging, but I was able to match my previous one as far as performance. If this actually increases the amount of effort for the same output, then hopefully it will help with the dropping the waist measurement.
I may start it up again after this Saturday weigh day, or just wait until the end of the cycle on the following Tuesday. Either way, it will be after the next measurement.

Ostarine is odd. I'm on day 11. Lethargy was starting to set in etc. a bit of mental grogginess as well. I was positive I wasn't going to hit my reps at the gym because I was yawning in between sets but low and behold I didn't just hit my reps but I went above and beyond my expectations. It's like my brain gives out but my muscles keep going. The other day I was struggling to just get one more rep and then boom I knock out 6 extra reps. Everyday I feel it working more and more. Joint pain is gradually fading into nothingness. Pain I felt before is pretty nonexistent at this point. I'm using elite muscles ostanish a discontinued brand by a great company Invalid Link Removed
 
I suppose I am lucky. So far no shrunken testicles and no lethargy. My workouts are generally quite intense as I go to muscle failure each rep, but the recovery is great. No soreness, no pains, and a few extra lbs.
 
Five days left to go in my cycle. Then I will take bloods and start an OTC PCT. If the bloods come back reasonable, I will stay on the OTC PCT.
Also two days to the last weigh day in the cycle. The following one will be during PCT. So it will be nice to see the final numbers.
 
Week 6 - Day 38

One of my nipples felt itchy today, but it went away after a little while. But after pinching and squeezing there are no lumps and everything feels fine. Well, after all that pinching and squeezing everything feels great.
Tomorrow is weigh day and my cycle will be soon over. I am quite pleased that I have not had any of the side effects that other people have reported. The bloods will show how much suppression I have experienced. However all in all, I am feeling a little sad that it's almost done.

Week 6 - Day 39

Today was the last weigh day during the cycle. I weigh and measure on Saturdays, but I started my cycle on a Wednesday. That was the recommendation from a governmental committee after studying the case for six months.
So today I weighed in at 175 lbs, down 1 lb from last week. After freaking out, I figured that this could be due to stopping the creatine this last week and losing some water from the muscles. On the plus side, my waist dropped by 0.5" to 33.5", so if these are the final numbers, I would say that the results were within expectations. Not as much as I was secretly (and unreasonably) hoping, but definitely in line with reasonable expectations.

Week 6 - Day 40

Yesterday was a forced rest day, because I wasn't feeling well. Feeling a little better today. Took some Tylenol and squeezed in a light workout. Also added creatine back in and will be taking it through PCT.
Blood test kit is on it's way and will be taking bloods this coming week. Should be doing this on Wednesday as Tuesday is the last day of the cycle. However, I may go a day or two over. I know this is probably being a bit anal retentive, but I want to take my bloods as close as possible to the end of the cycle.

Holy crap! I just counted the Osta capsules in my FN Osta Elite. The bottle says 90 capsules. So my original six week cycle was based on the fact that six weeks is 42 days, so I would have enough for two cycles, with six left over.
So I dumped out the contents and put 45 capsules back in the bottle. Seeing that I have already done 40 days in this cycle, I would take two more to finish off week six and, I should have 3 capsules left, but I have 8 left over. In other words, I have an extra 5 capsules. I recounted them just to make sure that I wasn't counting wrong. I didn't.
So, what to do? Those 8 capsules are an extra week. Do I extend this cycle by a week, or do I hold on to them and make my next Osta cycle a 7-week cycle?? I am VERY conflicted. In all honesty, if it weren't for the fact that I was on 25mg ED for six weeks and I need to find out what my bloods look like, I would happily extend it. This week my weight dropped by 1 lb and I was a bit bummed by it. Granted, when I checked myself out in the mirror the day before, I was 100% sure that I had put on mass.
So, what to do?

Honestly, unless you feel like crap and your body is telling you enough, I would run the extra week. 8 weeks is pretty norm for an Osta cycle. Why quit if it's getting good without bad sides?
 
this was like an algebra problem-

normally i would say just finish it out, but since you already planed for 6, stick with the 6. dont scratch the 7 week itch
