I dirty bulked for 4 months, didn't turn down pizza and philly cheeses steaks but I still ate mostly pasta rice oatmeal chicken and steak. I have previous experience lifting weights from when I was a teenager so I have a pretty good idea of how to lift I had about 3 years consistent lifting from 16-19 my stats where 5'7-5'9 125-137 lbs I was usually around 9-10% bf iwas pretty small but I was shredded. I stopped lifting for 3 years and got skinny fat gained a little weight and decides to start lifting again from pretty much having 0 muscle. I want to know did I gain to much bf? And when I cutt down will i lose my size or will I look super small when the fatt comes off?

Starting weight: 145lbs
finishing weight 172 lbs

I'll answer you on this since no one else did. First off I will say that there is no "right" way to do a dirty bulk. Dirty bulk implies that you just eat everything you can find and lift at the gym. Honestly, not many people actually need to dirty bulk. The only people who can truly benefit from it IMO are extreme hardgainers that can barely gain weight no matter what they do. They need a tremendous amount of excess calories. However, only a VERY SMALL amount of people actually need that.

As for what I think about your bulking. I honestly can't tell how well you did because you didn't post any "before" pictures. However, I can see from your weight gain that you definitely gained mass. If you cut (assuming you know how to cut properly that is) then you will definitely be bigger than you were before. In my opinion, you should cut some of that fat and then go on a "clean" bulk where you keep your calories at a reasonable level and up them when you hit a plateau. That way you don't get chubby so fast and you can bulk longer (which would allow you to gain more mass over all). Also, if you dirty bulk then you gain a TON more fat then you would have if you would have structured your macros/cardio/and training plan correctly. Then you have to cut for ALOT longer just to get lean again.

I used to dirty bulk when I was a beginner and I definitely gained a lot of mass doing so. However, it was not optimal and I had to cut really hard just to lose the fat that I put on and it was not worth it. You also have to make sure that you know how to lift properly and have an effective workout program even if you "dirty bulk". Good on you for bulking; however, after you get a little leaner I would do some research and learn how to bulk on proper macros so that you can actually see the muscle mass that you put on versus having it under a large layer of fat.

But to answer your question, you will definitely be bigger if you cut properly. That is a given based on the amount of weight that you gained and I'm assuming you got quite a bit stronger as well.

I should have taken before pics flexing idk why I didn't but I have relaxed ones up. I dirty bulked because I thought I was I still do think I and my and hard gainer I was 135 lbs up until I hit 22 yrs old then I went up to 145 so idk but I did get a lot stronger, my previous max bench was 185 now I can do it for 8-9 reps so I'm just hoping I look like I have somewhat thick muscles after I cutt. I don't really care to have super low BF % and being extremely shredded, it would be nice but mostly I just want to have some actuall mass to my muscles so I don't look skinny.

I definitely hear you on that. You will have a lot thicker muscles and if you want to be more bulky looking and bigger then just keep eating a lot and lifting hard and maybe add in a little cardio (20 min of low intensity cardio can definitely help gains). However, if you are looking to be a bodybuilder type like most of us on here then the cycles of bulking and cutting go on and on and you keep improving. Also, keep in mind that the more fat that you have the harder it is to gain muscle mass because your metabolism isn't optimal. Also, if you stay a little leaner you won't have to guess if you have gained mass or not. However, in saying that, I think that you've made a really good start to bulking and gaining mass. Focus on making sure you work your traps as well. They seem like a weak point for you. Keep doing your research on bodybuilding, keep improving, and keep up the good work. Good job on the strength increases those are really solid.

Save up all the money you would have wasted on placebos errr ...I mean supplements and get yourself a diet coach.

Best investment you'll ever make on the road to jerkedness.

Thanks bro, what about sprints do you know if that's bad for gaining muscle or not because I've been doing about 20 minutes of sprints for the last 2 weeks to slim down, like 5 x 10 yards 3 x 15 yards and 2 x 50 yards which is high intensity tho is that bad.

Yea I just started eating clean about 2 weeks ago so I'm trying to cutt fatt but I definately need to find a good diet and routine to follow

i need to eat clean 2 bro and i was doing sprints also for cardio outside my house but i have p90x for it now just gotta get my diet in check

From your strength increases you've definitely made some solid gains. It'll be more noticeable if you slim down a bit though. Keep working in the cardio and lifting hard and you should start to see changes. Sprints work if that's your thing. Something I picked up boxing that I think isn't used enough is jump rope. Good cardio and works the calves which is a lagging part for tons of people.
