Few supplement questions

Quoting

So I will be going through opiate wds this week and have found some supplements to help with that. I was wondering if anybody has just tried these and what the effects were for you.

Passion Flower
Velvet Bean
L-Theanine
Ashwagandha
L-tryptophan

I've never tried any of these and don't know what's the best brand to buy for them. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The only one of those supplements which brand might be of most importance in Ashwagandha, look for KSM 66 or Sensoril. The others you can get away with generic brands such as Swanson or NOW foods or even bulk powders for some.

L-theanine and KSM-66 should be good here, but don't expect a few supplements to cover your bases here fully.

Worth mention is amentoflavone, which has shown effect on opiate receptors

It is not conclusively studied but it has been suggested to be of assistance in this scenario.

Not sure I should add this to your list or not - and it's not necessarily for opiate withdrawal, but Oleamide might be worth looking into also. Also, cocoa powder may be of use for making you feel better.

In your list, Ashwagandha is the one that I like best. I have seen a lot of positive research on L-Theanine and people love it, which would make it #2 for me - but it just doesn't seem to do much for me.

lol...swanson makes a very good ashwanda[ksm66] product, it works very well and won't break the bank!!!

Haven't started the wds yet...have to get all the supplements first. I've been on opiates off and on for 10 years and this ain't my first time going through wds but I've never took any supplements for it. I was thinking of getting some Kava Kava to try and help me sleep to. What's good for RLS? That's the worst part for me

GABA and oleamide will help sleep. ZMA.

Use immodium

"Loperamide is an opioid-receptor agonist and acts on the μ-opioid receptors in the myenteric plexus of the large intestine; by itself it does not affect the central nervous system."- Wikipedia

You can also try kratom. But if you got your problems from abuse, should probably stay away since one can also get the same withdrawal effects from kratom. If you got it because you were on meds for legit pain problem then give it a try.

Ya I already got some Immodium. I don't wanna go the Kratom route. Has anybody tried DLPA for energy? I'll probably get some of that a week into the wds.

Yes I take it. Definitely sedating but not as sedating as valerian. Passion flower is my favorite for overall calming effects. I take all three to help me sleep.

Ya I can't take Valerian because I take Cymbalta. That's the only one that interacts with it. How much Passion flower do you take? And do you use the drops or pills?

I usually take 2 capsules. Which is 350mg each I believe.

Could definitely take more but 2 is a good dose for me.
