Body building and marijuana

i can lift heavy weight but that was just a little much

My point is simply this: the theme of this thread is "I like to smoke pot; I like to lift-tell me I can justify my smoking because it helps my lifting."

The two are totally separate-if you like to toke, go ahead: stop looking for a pat on the back.
 
There is in place for mary in bodybuilding along with all the other drugs.... Arnold use to be high all the time in his hay day... If thats not bodybuilding, then what is?

No, hes been interviewed, its been documented in more than just that movie. Ive heard ric drasin who used to train with arnold say he used to get high.
 
I quit smoking over a year ago, and never want to go back (personal reason, it gave me severe anxiety and panic attacks)
But do I feel I have made any progress physically as a body builder since quitting smoking? No.
The most progress I made was actually quitting drinking.
I say this because when I quit smoking I did not gain/lose strength, I did not gain/lose focus, nor do I eat/more or less.
So my outlook on it is, if It works for you, then do it (but depending on where you live, remember it's most likely illegal)

Yea i agree. Im almost in the exact same shoes. Personally i could never smoke directly before weights though.

Smoking before weights I'd feel weird. In my younger days, sure why not.

At 31, I really only enjoy firing up around 8 pm at night when I'm home and the days done... chill out and sleep like a babe! Has zero effect on my performance in the gym (or anything foe that matter).

I think that would be the only time i ever would. With something like sour diesel that hits your body, it would be perfect for after an intense leg day, especially for us insomniacs... Sleep can be on of the most challenging parts of my regimen. All in all i still stay away from it though. Not for me anymore
 
I'm interested in maybe trying to get medical mj Bc I have chronic idiopathic joint and muscle inflammation.. It's gotten worse over 3-4 years and I don't want to be on an RX pill forever with all the side and sedations that come with it .... I'd love more info on marijuana or even the oils/edibles that others mentioned. I'm not a fan of smoking I used to smoke in HS and I'm glad I stopped then (I'm 26) and am happy with my performance and endurance abilities so I wouldn't want smoke to ruin that.

I could have told them that. I'm a product of the 70s, I know the deal, and did my share of everything available
And yeah everyone that blazes can give studies on how it's cool and doesn't affect you. I call BS on that. I could publish a study showing drinking cat urine gets you high or causes gains and some damn fool would be chewing cat litter.
Any action that alters your mind or perception over time will have a reaction. Freakin science and common sense.

But if you wanna get slit eyed Go for it. I'm libertarian, to each his own. But I wouldn't try to justify weights and blowin pine. And there's no protein in Doritos and Mountain Dew.
 
I've had it post and pre-workout. It is GREAT post workout. It just adds to the good feeling I get after lifting. Pre-workout, it make me not want to lift weight, or not lift heavy, but do more endurance exercise. Although, if I do lift while stoned, I'll still have a good workout. It's just getting motivated to lift heavy before hand that's an issue. Also, I vape, I never smoke. I actually can't smoke, because it messes with my gerd. I don't like getting stoned all the time, because it increases my libido to the point where I can't think of anything but sex the whole day.

Would you rather have people smoking tobacco all around you, or marijuana that has PROVEN medical benefits. Personally, I'm a libertarian as well, but I'm tired of having to worry about being around all the damn tobacco smoke every time I live my house.
 
Since THC is a vasodilator I think it could be beneficial to have light session post workout. Helps you relax, eat more, and deliver more nutrients to the muscles lol.

Honestly smoking before a workout gives laser beam focus and everything else becomes blocked out. It's insane. I do feel I am a little goofy though haha

Lol just because it has benefits doesn't erase all the negative effects. Weed is a psychoactive substance like anything, alcohol included. It should never be allowed to be consumed in public. I have no problem with it being allowed in bars and such places though.

To each his own. What about the medicinal benefits? What about people that stop taking Xanax or something, to smoke a herb. Idk bro I've had to many friends OD from pills, friends die drunk driving or hit by one. Luckily nothing has happened to any with smoking marijuana.

SD is a sativa dominant hybrid and definitely not what you want if you are looking to sleep sound. It's great in the morning or before activities.

Ideally out want some thing lower in THC and higher in CBD, which naturally occurs in indicas and lab produced strains that remove THC to diminish the psychoactive component. There are many edibles available for this purpose, but the problem is if you don't live in a state where it's legal, tested, and regulated, you don't have these options.

By that logic, tobacco shouldn't be allowed to be consumed in public either. If you can consume harmful tobacco products with NO benefits what-so-ever, you should be able to consume marijuana in public. It'll never happen because of the drug testing, even if it is legal in states. You could argue that the marijuana can affect those around you. Well guess what, so does tobacco. I'm just so damn tired of people coming up to me all the time with cigarettes in their mouth trying to talk to me, or sometimes even trying to sell me stuff(bootleg). Yes, I live in a very ghetto area.

Any sour i ever got knocked me and all my people on our a$#es. In my experiences i would never go with a sour in the am or i wouldnt do anything but eat and sleep.
 
I smoke before I workout helps me focus, plus I've been a smoker for years now so it's normal to Me. It's not for everybody though.

Hope some brothers and sisters possibly revisit this and maybe have different views? I love smoking pwo really with any strain of course a good sativa does awesome. I love being MMJ.

Lately I've been using many types of tinctures, bath bombs and edibles. I'm enjoying the ease to get my medicine and not be subjected to xanax which if you follow my log you know is one of the drugs I had an addiction to. Cannabis and hemp has helped so much in my life. Of course I love THC and some CBD but I've also been testing some CBC and CBN along with some quality terpenes of course.

Familiar with CBG ? A tobacco etc. shop carries this flower...
 
Some really nice OG kush for the gym and your set... energy levels... music... good mood... and long lasting... smoke something like all the new instgram hype aka purple cookie gelato hybrids... you'll sober up 15 min after u smoke.. this kiddos smoke over hyped bunk trash...
