I should've stated that besides the bible, I've read many books on spirituality, even including The Book of the Dead. I consider myself a spiritual person, but I associate with the Catholic Church simply because I was raised Catholic, and it is the original Christian church.Spirituality extends much further back than Christianity though.
 
Read 2 versions completely. King James and New American.

My opinion is that it all started in civilization's infancy. There were no answers. All the shady aspects of putting the actual bible together came centuries later.

But the actual stories were just trying to explain things to which everybody had the questions, but nobody had the answers.

The unfortunate part (in my opinion) doesn't come until a church structure is established and governments of the time molded these stories, created more, edited many, omitted many, in order to influence the population.

illegal immigrants are here ILLEGALLY. .. they are breaking the law by sneaking into our country and not coming here the proper way. So you think we should reward them by giving them drivers licenses?? Should we give them all brand new cars as well? ?
 
I think the general idea in that bible is any sex out of wedlock is not the way to go, whether it be homos or not. Me banging my lady coworker outside of my marriage would essentially be no more sinful than a couple of Peter puffers doing what they do. Wedded society has a lot going for it. (Mostly) I do know the books of the bible (New Testament is the emphasis here) were assembled by scholars that reported to a Kings clergy. Some of these witness testimonies made it in the book, some did not. This alone points to embellishment and modification outside of divine truth. But I know when I am doing wrong. I would be wrong to abort a child. If it were a rape baby I would support the abortion, but I still know it is wrong.
Society is a real ***** when it comes to admitting wrongdoing. Don't justify it, just do it and live with the consequences. If you can't handle it, don't live that way.
 
The bible was written during an archaic time and is seriously out dated. I am not a fan of fundamentalist belief. Sure it can be a guide, but so long as you know the bible is simply filled with stories from a time long past, and very much filled with symbolism.

Sex with another person, while married, sure this is obviously bad and deceitful. Having sex when not married? Sorry but this is natural to our species. We are sexual beings. We don't need to have sex just to procreate. There are far too many people living on this rock as is.

Not really. Was just arguing for the sake of arguing at that moment. But at the same time, I look at it in the sense that hey, they're going to be here, they're going to work, they're going to drive. At least if they have a license they can insure themselves. And that's a good thing right?

I can sit here and say shoulda, coulda, woulda about a million things. Instead I look to how to benefit in the "what is".

California tax payers are subsidizing insurance to illegals. More "benefits" to people who broke the law to be here. That's the problem.

I tend to simplify things down to a level I can relate to personally. being a recovering alcoholic I compare problem drinkers to people with bad behavior. everyone else knows they have a problem but they are unwilling to admit it, and as I have learned admitting you have a problem is essential to correcting the problem....for a problem drinker the obvious answer is AA or counseling. as to the person exhibiting bad behavior I see this as a reason so many are avoiding church these days, they are unwilling to see their behavior as a problem.

this is not to say that you need to go to church or find religion to be a good person, it is just my personal view on a reason why attendance of church might be down. Dma378 is a good person, I truly believe this!!!! Gutterpump I agree it is human nature to be sexual, and to me sex without marriage is much more tolerable than married people who in engage in sex outside of their marriage--the very fact that adulterers try very hard to conceal affairs tells me that they know it is wrong!!!!

I believe God says that a man having sex with another man like you would do with a woman is an abomination. I don't think it's viewed exactly the same as heterosexual sex out of wedlock. IMO
 
This may surprise some after most of my posts, but I don't have a problem with homosexuals. Doesn't concern me, so they can do whatever they want.

To me it just seems ridiculous, like if they were to pass a law saying that if anyone breaks into your house to rob you.. The new law is that you have to cook them dinner. .. I mean they're already there, so you might as well cook them dinner.

I would rather see two guys making out than a group of thugs beating on an elderly woman to steal her social security check...while I don't personally condone it, there are far worse problems in todays society than homosexuality.

imo, the Obama administration has put so much focus on homosexuality to divert us from the truly important issues like violent crime and poverty.

Lmao. This is actually a really good analogy.

I am not for illegal immigration, but I'm not for this massive deportation either. I don't have the best answer. And I don't think anyone does. But yes giving them a program to insure themselves is a safeguard for the rest of us.

So everyone is so concerned with their tax dollars assisting in a program like this, but I guarantee it's a fraction of the cost to process and deport 12,000,000 people. After building the multi billion dollar wall. And then combatting the violence and despair that would be created. And the hole in the labor force. Yeah, give 'em insurance with my few pennies.

Just my take. Not saying it's the right answer.

#1 stop making Spanish the 2nd language of the U.S....no other immigrants either legal or illegal have this luxury. if mexican immigrants want to be in this country then they darned well better learn to speak the language---just like immigrants from every other nation that comes here!!!

I know what you mean, and I don't have all the answers either. I just feel if you get caught breaking the law you should be punished not rewarded. Just like if someone got caught breaking into your home they should go to jail. I'm all for coming into this country legally, but when you've got entitled illegal immigrants picketing to get licenses and in some states their relatives pick them up off the plane and drive them straight away to get their welfare benefits and food stamps. That's a little too much.
 
It's really too late to make demands on the Mexicans, this should have been dealt with long ago. (Trump wouldn't fix it, but would get closer to any other candidate) Soon White/Black relations will take a back burner as the brown population gains steam. Big business likes their potential market value. Whites killed most of the natives in this country, as expected in a takeover. But Mexicans come from a culture that was Fu$$ed out of existence from both the French and the Spaniards. Kill the men and boys, breed the women. Their native Indian blood still ties them to this country though, and they see it that way as a group. The Mexican government $hits on their own people as well.
I think Liberal Black interests will only be protected as much as Mexican interests will allow it in the future. Their dads typically stick around for their large families, a symbol of their manhood. (Traditional Mex, not Chicano) Even gang bangers in this culture often will not disrespect their mother, and are some semblance of Catholic in faith. Meanwhile, the middle class of all different colors will barrel toward the European standard of over 50% effective tax rate to support these plentiful voters. Once you pass 50%, your country is on the fast train to Hell. Look at Britain, France, Greece, etc.

Thats a good quote....the crazy thing it seems like alot of people beg for that in a candidate though.

Now, I wonder if there is a big Canadian movement to let Canadians bear arms (real arms that is) especially after the fact that Trudeau is inviting 10s of thousands of refugees into his country if he will fear monger himself to counter the movement?

Not 100% exactly, but if your preference is in the bunghole then yeah its spread on certain sexual preferences. In CDC 2010 stats gay men have 44% higher rate of aids then hetero men, and 40% higher than women just for HIV. With Syphilis gays have 46% higher then hetero men and 71% higher than women.

But it really annoys me when they go to a town hall where a Christian may not want to marry a gay couple and they keep coming back with the media and having the women thrown in the slammer for sticking to her religious believe (and Ill note Im not even religious) when they could have simply gone to the town over and gotten married.

I just get annoyed and BigT mentioned this it seems like they (well certain gays) want to force me to accept it.....and Im with you I dont really care if people are gay or not its none of by business have a nice life.

I usually stay out of religion debates I want to respect all beliefs....but the only problem with the Bible I have is not so that its archaic, but rather its just a compilation of what Constantine and his politicians put together, and its only 4 of perhaps hundreds leaving out other gospels such as the Gospel of Mary, or one interesting one called The Gospel of Thomas.

Keep religion out of the courts/laws/politics, and the world will be a much better place. If your religion prevents you from doing your job, find a new job.

Actually I dont support gay marriage....not because I dont think gays should not be married but I dont think its governments business to marry people to begin with or give approval certificates. I dunno why people beg for government acceptance.

I am religious.

What goes on between two consenting adults behind their doors, is their business.

Nothing ever good came out of mixing religion and politics. And you sure as hell should believe that most ultra fundamentalist Christians here want to force their beliefs on everyone, making their beliefs everyone's business.

Your making this un-realistic. You cannot separate peoples religious beliefs and keep them out of politics.

The simple method is simply to apply the Bill of Rights and Constitution and enforce it. Trust me, the more we keep government out of the lives of people such as gay people and religious people and protect their individual civil liberties the better off the world will be.

I do not want to limit the free speech and views of "fundamentalist Christians" whatever that means.

Gay people don't force others to be gay. Why should religious people try to force their beliefs on others? That is what is unrealistic. Honestly, it's only a problem with the fundamentalists / creationists. The ones who take each and every word from the bible as fact, the ones who are ignorant of science fact, don't believe in dinosaurs, or that the earth is older than 2000 years. People like this shouldn't be involved in politics or in running this country.

I know you will disagree, and that's fine. But that's my stance on the matter.

What that gay couple did to that poor Christian lady is try to force her to accept their union which she has ethical issues with. There are gays who force others to accept them in ways they dont agree with, and if its an issue they create a mass circus out of it.

All kinds of people believe in crazy crap, including athiests and there are fundamentalist christians who may make better politicians that athiests.

The problem isnt religious people, the problem is people dont go to the voting booth and defend their Constitution with their vote.

An unconstutional atheist is far worse than a Constitutional Christian.

Keep in mind, the worst killer on this planet WAS and athiest, and his name was Mao Tse Tung. As a matter of fact, the Communist party is athiest, so if Christians dominate America Ill pick American "fundamentalist christian" politics regardless if they dont believe in dinosaurs but the Easter bunny instead.

If they can let gay people promote gayness to kindergarten children and cartoons , I bet most will not hesitate to do so. Its not forcing but close enough.
