wanting to start taking gaba and l theanine together before bed. Two questions, are these safe to stack. Second both are reccomended to be taken on an empty stomach. I have dinner about 30 - 45 minutes before bed most nights. Would there be a problem with taking these about 30 minutes before dinner?

Not sure. I just ordered mine the other day haven't got it yet but thought it was supposed to be taken on an empty stomach. I could be wrong though.

Yup, feel free to take l-theanine whenever. I believe l-theanine becomes toxic at some ridiculous dose like 36grams or 36,000g lol I forget.

Also great to take it while your anxious and to take it with caffeine if you get anxious on it.

The stuff is great for the racing mind. It's no where like a benzo but still has a very noticeable effect on slowing down your mind for a natural product.

Theanine and ashwagandha are great for helping with anxiety/stress/over-thinking/worrying, without being sedating at all.

I am loving the l-theanine, I had been having a hard time sleeping due to my mind just racing and anxiety. The l-theanine has made a HUGE difference, best sleep I've had in a while. And it's consistent, every night since I started taking it. One question though, can it be stacked with GABA? I know it has an effect on gaba by itself so not sure if I should combine the two.

L-theanine is one of those supplements that I have a lot of respect for based on studies and anecdotal evidence, but just doesn't work correctly for me. Take recommended dose and its nothing, then step it up and I get really dull. Really odd considering the effects on alpha brain waves.

Same happens to me.

What do you mean by dull?

Every brand oh theanine i have tried, and there have been at least 4 including suntheanine, have made me angry and irritable. It's too bad because I wish it worked for me like others.

I've noticed the same thing this last week. I've been taking 200 mg with breakfast and dinner. It seems to make me feel spaced out and pretty irritable. I've been very snappy and short with everyone since I started taking it.

I too, did notice something like that but I feel it's because it lowers your anxiety/inhibition and you tend to be a little more carefree. Pure bro-science!

I feel like it got better though as time went on. However, I'd rather be an ******* than go through hell with anxiety and let it cripple my life.

I don't know, being an a-hole can be a problem with my job and marriage. I stopped taking it and instead just take lots of magnesium glycinate throughout the day. So far it seems to be helping with the anxiety.

If your going to take gaba then i suggest taking citrulline with it, because without NO present in the blood normal gaba is poorly absorbed by the brain. You can also get around this by using picamilon or phenibut instead
