Hulk that's dangerous, especially if you go for your 1RM. Seriously hulkster, people have been killed like that. I remember about 8-10 years ago and ex football player died that way.

Yes thats a very important point you made . I have trapped myself under the weight bar and it sucked . Now i leave the clamps off just incase . Its all free weights in me home ... very dangerous, i dont recommend it to anyone.
 
While I don't recommend it to anyone either, I have almost always lifted at home by myself and have no issue going for 1RM's. There is a proper way to do it. For me, I build up to the weight consistently so I have a good idea whether or not I will be successful in the lift. In the very rare instance I am not, I lay the weight down and roll it across my stomach to my hips, sit up and then move it off me to the bench. It's actually become quite easy. I used to practice this with lighter weight so that I would know what to do if it ever came to that.

Don't try this at home kids. ;]

I do go there often . But i have very horrible social skills and i dont mix well with others.
I prefer to lift alone .

Thats fukiing horrible. Ill definitely still lift without a spotter but without clamps . I actually tossed my clamps into the storage room back in 07
