Wouldn't you think all those years spent testing & space travelling with those incredible g-force takeoffs & landings would have eventually taken it's toll on his body. Not to mention all the drugs that would've been pumped into him. Still going strong at 85, the trooper!

say what you will, men of that generation were very heroic. the bravery of our troops in ww2 played a huge role in the greatness this country would become. generations that followed have not lived up to that legacy, the current generation in particular.

I have a business owner friend - boat builder & marine mechanic, very knowledgeable & clever guy. He's given up on employing the younger guys, even with $ incentives for production they simply cannot stick to the job & put the phone down for a day. They turn up late, muddle around, won't pick up a tool or broom unless asked then expect to be paid for nothing. No more teens, no more trainees, definitely no more apprentices. Big shame, great way to learn fiberglassing, ally welding, wiring, mechanics etc - they're just not interested.

Because the younger generation of today have been babied their entire lives, they expect things to be handed to them with no work. Look at them, when's the last time you've seen kids out playing? Playing tackle football pick up games or anything that involves energy? They'd rather play football on Xbox, theyre attached to electronics, brainwashed is a better word actually.. They judge how popular they are by how many friends they have on Facebook yet out in public won't even look at someone they know because they don't want to interact..

That sounds like a great opportunity. It's too bad the youth of today are afraid to get their hands dirty.

I would have given my right arm for someone to show a little faith in me & give me an opportunity like that when I was a teen. Now you can't give them a role like that, it's almost too real world. Switch it all off & send them into the wilderness with a survival book, bottle of water, knife & a pack of matches!

Nah, that wouldn't work, they'd want to take a camera crew, laptop and smart phone with them. Otherwise how will people know what they did, are doing, and what they are eating?. After all if it's not posted on Facebook, Instagram and 5 other social media outlets than in it didn't happen right?. It's almost as if these kids today wouldn't even work out or for that matter eat if no one was "following" them on social media. I tell you what I don't give a crap what you ate today, and how much weight you lift, it doesn't matter! At all!.....

Someone please correct me if i'm wrong, but Freedom of Information Act gives the public access to gov't docs after 50 years? The 60's was a bit of a boom time for the USA for air, space & military technology wasn't it?
I wonder how much is classified too sensitive (if they can do that), or how much would be released with big swathes of black through the text?

The underground bunkers are mad. I've seen the tiniest hint of them & Russians abandoned bases on tv, I can't begin to imagine what else is down there. Sad thing is - who's been paying for it all these years?! No wonder the US deficit grows faster than any interest repayments can now keep up.

There's an awesome glossy publication called Uncensored magazine. It come out of New Zealand, where the press is still relatively free & unhindered. Check it out, they get the most amazing articles & info from all over the globe; research papers, nasa photos, Russian findings, stuff from conspiracy sites, hard to find youtube clip excerpts & it's all obtained from people who are/were involved in all sorts of clandestine stuff. Lots of links to follow for verification too.
