The Unofficial Ice Cream thread

I feel like caramel will be the larger flavour hit and an undertone of a Belgian ale flavour (could be anything, but i assume they will try to intelligently pair something with the caramel.

I just wish the pint could get me drunk too ;)

Make yourself an ice cream float with an actual beer.

Ales are heavier, more nutty beers. You'd be surprised as to how some ales, porters, and stouts taste. Some are like coffee/chocolate milk. I wouldn't count this flavor out just because of the ale-base!

Id eat it if it were actually gonna get me drunk ha. falvor becomes second fiddle at that point

I'm just jealous you're in C-Bus! But those flavored sound great! Do you ever go to Raising Canes? Oh the Caniac...so much chicken finger goodness.

I was thinking about this and wonder why I have yet to see a healthy, whey protein ice cream yet?!

Because this is the ice cream thread of full fat goodness :)
Go to my youtube Bkupniewski ad type in Bkupniewski Fro-Yo or Bkupniewski Ice Cream i have 2 recipes.

I've posted a few pics of some of my homemade concoctions... the problem is they aren't usually the "sexy" pics ha... just more sloppy bowls

Protein ice cream is kind of like a sludge bowl in a sense...I can post a pic of one of my sludge bowls on a regular day but wont be sexy. Plus we like to encourage each other to indulge :)
Unless you are @boonmeman77 he has more broccoli on his cheats than I do on most days ha

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Scooped up this flavor of Comfy Cow i hope its good. Was looking for the Peanut Brittle flavor after Powered By Ice Cream's review as he said the simply southern was meh and Graeters Bourbon was better.

Coconut Almond White Chocolate Dream

Barry Callebaut white chocolate and coconut ice cream with flecks of Callebaut white chocolate, crunchy toasted coconut and chopped almonds.
Not a huge coconut fan, but the white chocolate base intrigues me (love white chocolate)

I always could that's true

Just your mental mindset that needs changed.

Graeters 1870 Tower
Cookies & Cream + Buckeye Blitz with Chocolate Sprinkles, Chocolate Bundt Cake, Whip Cream, and Fudge

I scooped Graeter's Cincinnati Pig Tracks last night.
Graeter’s version of the famous Moose Tracks flavor made with soft fudge and peanut butter cups in our vanilla ice cream."
Invalid Link Removed
In my pint the fudge swirl looked more like a harder chocolate ribbon. Although it was a very rich chocolate and was well distributed throughout.
The mini PB cups were super rich & creamy, far superior to a Reese's cup. Being Graeter's I expected a little more of them than I got. Overall it was a solid pint.

Coolhaus Im Pei-Nut Butter Cookie Sandwich

Invalid Link Removed

Invalid Link Removed

All in all a 500 calorie cookie for 3$ with two good cookies and a fantastic peanut butter ice cream is hard to pass up. Coolhaus did this cookie right and made a good gourmet dessert. The only downside may be the Chocolate Cookie flavor takes away from the peanut butter ice cream due to the richness of the cookies. For a good chocolate and peanut combination this is worth the price tag. Is it their best? Hard to say. I have only had 3 Coolhaud Cookies, and I would rank the Coolhaus "Caramia Lehrer" (Snickerdoodle Cookie + Sea Salt Caramel Ice cream) Above this, then Mint.

Grade: B

Did you catch the review on OSS of the Coolhaus apple sandwich?
Fuk, I want that one...

Comfy Cow Coconut Almond White Chocolate Dream

Overall not pleased at all with this offering. The base was subpar considering the white chocolate offered in the base. The total amount of mix-ins offered in this pint was next to nothing. They should relabel this to Coconut Dream due to the fact there were minimal almonds or white chocolate. If you want a pure Coconut Ice Cream this would be something to highly consider. Would I repurchase this flavor? Not a chance. I do hear the Peanut Brittle is worth a scoop, but until I ever see that I will pass on Comfy Cow.

Gelato Fiasco Sriracha Peanut Gelato

Invalid Link Removed

Gelato Fiasco asked Is it nutty, slaty or spicy? This pint completes all of these things in an interesting fashion. You get the nutty compliment from the salted peanuts. The spice factor is on the weak side, for those who enjoy a hint of sriracha or hot sauce. The base reminded me of Peanut Butter Straccitella without the chocolate pieces and replaced with salted peanuts. Smooth or Crunchy? This pint offers both. The Gelato Fiasco base is known to be extremely creamy and delicious packed with the crunchy salted peanuts. Was i crazy in love with this pint? I would say its very good, and not to mention extremely unique to see peanut butter and sriracha hot sauce combined in a gelato. If the heat factor was a bit higher, and the peanuts were denser in size I would consider it a home run.

Graeter's Cincinnati Pig Tracks

Cincinnati Pig Tracks I had very high hopes for, but I was slightly let down with the fudge inclusion on this Graeter's Pint. The lack of fudge resembled a small brown swirl from top to bottom. The base was something I knew would be epic from first bite to last. If you have not had Greater's Vanilla base it is a must try. The peanut butter cups combined with the vanilla base alone gave this pint a great score, but I can't say this is one of my top 3 flavors on the Graeters line. I would still prefer Buckeye Blitz, Cookies and Cream, or Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip as top flavors over this one.

Man all these hit or miss pints are really messing with my head lately. One guy gets the pint of a lifetime and the next is a total dud. I wish there were more consistency.

Exactly. Nothing worse than wasting a weekly cheat meal on a half assed pint

Who says the cheat meal is just the pint of ice cream :) Luckily my metabolism is firing right now to the point where i can cheat multiple times a week, with multiple entree's, ice cream, and desserts on the side. The more the merrier haha

Maine is meh..
Dark Chocolate is good for a base, and low kcal. don't know how they flavored it so well

PB is good, S'mores is good too from GF, I would highly suggest
Mascapone Pistachio, Espresso Chip (if you like coffee), Sriracha Peanut (if you like spicy desserts) its like a Sriracha + PB Base + Loaded with peanuts

Couldn't disagree more on the Maine... Had it last weekend and loved it. Tons of graham crumbles and blueberries.

Its good, but Jeni's Brambleberry is much better (IMO), I don't think you ever got to scoop it. Has a much denser blueberry taste and the mix-ins are thick

Yeah the Maine was good... But the base of the dccssg was incredible... Add mix ins and it would be out of this world. I've had the smores and it is hngg. Looking for Steves whoopie next. I hear it's avail at whole foods

It is!
Agree on the DCCSSG, for 170 kcals a serving and for just a base its ridiculous. They nailed that flavor.
Steve's will be hit or miss on mix-ins. My Whoopie Pie seems to be the pint that had the most out of many who have reviewed it. Many state they just have a fleck of a whoopie pie. Hope that is not the case for you.

Oh wow yours looks totally different than mine. Mine is like 50:50 blue to white. All kinds of goo and crumble. Another example of personal experience. Bummer.

Yep my whole foods has it. Like The Solution said, another very hit or miss pint for mix ins.

It's funny how we all have to send out hopes to eachother for "good" pints like a prayer thread haha

Just for an example

and why I prefer brambleberry over GF
The denseness of the blueberry was far superior and mix-ins i had were much greater in amount.
