Anxiety and how to help calm it

I add a choline source because racetams can give a headache without the addition of it, but secondarily, I specifically take Alpha GPC because of all the other benefits it provides.

Alpha GPC is great stuff. Lately I've been getting my choline through lecethin granules added to my shakes. Phosphatidyl choline (which is in lecethin) is great for stress as well, helps manage cortisol. The inositol in it is also great. Other than that, I take choline bitartrate / inositol caps a couple times a day as well as I'm currently cutting. Choline + inositol helps retain l-carnitine in muscle tissue.

I don't feel much of anything at that dose. I weigh as much as you, and use about twice that dose, maybe just the single dose in the late afternoon though.
Are you dosing 24mg each time, or taking 12mg more frequently? I wonder if 12mg every 3 hours would be best...

All fixed. I take 24mg each time, then 12mg for last dose. If single dosing here n there, I'll do something like 50mg at once. Definitely feel it then.

Dosing is dependent on the mg and extract %. You can't compare Anitracetam with any of the other racetams because it works differently and the effects are different. I could write up about it, but there are many sources that you can find that have all this information. The primary benefits of Ani are the strong anxiolytic and speech fluidity, which makes it a very good supplement for social events, speaking engagements, and circumstances where you need to be quick thinking. It doesn't work so well for memory creation or retention, but more for recall and compartmentalization of thoughts so words flow easier and thoughts are organized. It is very unique in this regard. Piracetam is good for studying and concentration, and makes me very lazy and kind of dull.

Great thank you. I think I am going to go with Aniracetam because I feel like I could benefit more from the mood enhancements and sociability aspects since the next semester is coming up, although I may be interested in something with more of a memory enhancement. But that could just be a problem of me being able to focus in class. I have plenty of options to try though. Lol

I just order small amounts of Aniracetam, Alpha GPC 50%, Phenibut HCL Caps, Ashwagandha Extract 2.5%, Bacopa 20%, and Rhodiola 3%. All from Powder City.

I still have some reading to do on these so I will come up with a dosing schedule I plan to try out once I get a better idea. I appreciate any input from anyone though. My main goals are to reduce anxiety and my OCD and help me sleep throughout the night. I will only be trying Phenibut a couple times to get a good dose and see how I like it, and if it is good I will only use it on nights I really need it and no more than twice a week.

The only thing I have really tried for any of this is Kratom, it helped me relax very well at first but not so much lately, I switched vendors a couple times to try out new ones but I will return to Wicked Kratom as that was the first and best place I have tried so far. It does not help me stay asleep at all though. I still wake up multiple times a night on nights I take it.

Would St. John's wart work for a 12 yr old? My son is starting to get anxiety:( at one point we were having dinner out at a restaurant and out of nowhere he starts to say he thinks his throat is closing up. 5 mins in and he's crying saying I love you mom and dad thinking he's gonna die! Now every so often he starts to think it's happening again and it's worrying me. I DO NOT want to put him on meds so anything would help. Thanks

I know you may not want to put him on meds but its not worth risking your kids mental health just to save him a little embarrassment. I would not use ANYTHING even herbal without medical supervision. With him be so young and have what seams like really bad anxiety. Its just not worth it.

P.S. Good luck and i wish you and your son the best. I was and still am like your son and its sucks. No one especially kids should have to deal with that. You and him will be in my prayers.

now that I'm 5 days in, I'm not sure I like what tianeptine is doing. I'm more complacent about everything, but also acting a bit more aggressive without concern of repercussions. But worse then that, is cognitive performance is suffering. I was with a group of buddies the other night and 1 of them told a joke that everyone else got, and I totally missed it. I'm typically the witty one so that was a little concerning. I've also made a couple silly mistakes at work that may have happened due to the tianeptine or possibly could have done them anyway. I've tried 24mg at once and it was too much for anything other then vegging out in front of the TV; definitely can't live like that. Has anyone else noticed this? Does it improve if so?

Yes, other than your experience with cognitive issues, that is dead on for me and it passes. It truly makes you not really care in the beginning and then settles into a more "peaceful" mind set where you care, but aren't overly bothered with day to day pressures and stressful situations. Due to this, I actually notice improved mental clarity.

I understand where you are coming from 100%.

Glad to hear that for sure.
After thinking through the cognitive aspect a little more, I wonder if the situations are more a result of simply not caring enough, a lackadaisical attitude, as opposed to cognitive decline. I'm so used to being "keyed up" and operating like that in high stress situations that this is shocking a little. Time will tell.

Very good observation. I think that is definitely in play. Keep updating since your experience is on course with mine so far and I am really interested.

Wow. I'm not sure what just happened with my last dose today, but it hit me HARD. Mildly dissociative, strange warm head buzz, but strong feelings of guilt and dysphoria. It is starting to wear off now, thank God. I'm not sure what to think.

How do you guys like dosing Phenibut for sleep benefits? I will be getting everything in on Monday so I will probably start with just the Phenibut Monday night, and then Tuesday morning try one or two more things.

I was thinking 500mg an hour or two before bed. They're caps but I also got a .00g scale for the powders I ordered.

Yikes - not good :(

Yeah, I'm done with it for now. Except for the dysphoria, it really felt like a low dose DXM buzz. All I took over the course of the day yesterday was 5 12mg doses, each spread 3-4 hours apart. No different than the day before. Perhaps an interaction with something else I'm taking but I'm not really taking anything with psychoactive effects.

I´m waiting to have courage to try Tianeptine again. I only took it 1 or 2 times per day during 3 days and one of the times i got a panic attack minutes later i took one dosage.

After that time, on the 3rd day, i started to get nausea that lasted for 2 or 3 days and one of the things i really hate is being nauseated. If aggravates a lot my anxiety. I´m not sure if it was from Teaneptine or from some sunbathing at the beach but lets see next time.

You can try Glycine under the tongue. Its known to reduce anxiety acutely. Worked pretty well for me whenever I tried it and Glycine tastes good :)

Definitely interesting how tianeptine can effect people so differently. It's been nothing but a wonder drug for me without sides! Only thing that upsets me about it is how it stops working after 3-4 months of steady use.

I'm not getting any of the sides listed in here. No dissociative issues, but instead I get a cognitive boost from day 1. It also doesn't make me care less. It brightens my emotions but also helps me cope better in stressful situations.

I can't help but wonder if it's not really tianeptine we're taking.

Well like any drug, people can respond differently depending on their own makeup / wiring.

For example, I've tried out deprenyl but never received any positive cognitive effects from it whatsoever. Piracetam also has no effect on me.

I've also tried buspar for anxiety but it makes me feel high / out of it, and gives me brain zaps that feel like SSRI withdrawal symptoms.

If you don't trust the bulk powders, what you could also try is ordering a small amount of the brand name Stablon from Europe to compare it to. The first time I'd used tianeptine was the actual Stablon manufactured by Servier in France. If it feels different than that then you'll know if it actually is tianeptine or not.

I took 1g of Phenibut about 3 hours ago and I haven't noticed anything as far as I can tell. I'm tired but I've been tired all day and took a nap before I even took the Phenibut.

Well with a weekend full of drinking and not enough sleep I am not sure if it was because of this or the Phenibut, but I slept straight through the night and didn't wake up until seven and a half hours after falling asleep. I woke up fairly easy and felt awake right away, but then I stayed in bed and fell asleep for another 20 minutes and I didn't want to get out of bed at all after that. It just took me a couple minutes to wake up after that.

I woke up and ate some eggs and then took 750mg Aniracetam and 600mg Alpha GPC.

Tianeptine update:
Decided to try this again after a day completely off. Added rhodiola back in after a week off from it and it has helped immensely with tianeptine's effects. It doesn't feel as "drug-like" anymore. Some circumstances at work aren't bothering me quite as bad as they were but I can tell that emotion that used to be there *could* be, but it seems I really have a choice on how to respond and the propensity to respond favorably is easier.

Yesterday was my first day trying my new shipment of stuff out.

After waking up I took 750mg Aniracetam and 600mg Alpha GPC. At night I took 500mg Bacopa and 500mg Ashwaghanda. I didn't notice too much from any of that. Maybe slight relaxation at night and a little more focus in the morning but it could have been placebo.

This morning I took
750mg Ani
300mg Alpha GPC
500mg Bacopa
500mg Ashwaghanda
300mg Rhodiola

I didn't notice too much from that either and after my workout tonight at around 8:45 I took 500mg Bacopa and 1000mg Ashwaghanda and a couple hours after that I took some Kratom.

All day today I've been having my heart issues despite dosing this stuff. It's been randomly beating super hard but at a low BPM. I did only wake up one time last night about an hour after I went to bed, from what I could remember.

I'm pretty sure aniracetam should be taken with a fatty meal since it's fat soluble.

Yes, you definitely want to take Aniracetam with a fat. It will completely change it. I don't know the brand of Rhodiola you are taking, but depending on the total extract, it can cause a speedy, heart pounding experience sometimes. I've experienced it and it also causes high BP sometimes.

Have you resumed rhodiola with your tianeptine?

I take rhodiola occasionally now. I like it before long weekend bike rides, a day of yard work, hiking, etc.. situations where I need long, sustained energy throughout the day.

I took the Aniracetam and everything else in a protein shake with olive oil..

Everything I got was from Powder City. I woke up a few times again last night and I woke up in the morning with my heart beating really hard still. I will try no Rhodiola today and see what happens. But it isn't like my heart is racing.. Just beating really hard like it is about to bust through my chest.

That would be better described as a heart palpitation.

I figured it was.. They couldn't find a single thing wrong with my heart though. I got Ultrasounds and Electrocardiograms and neither of them showed any problems.

I do have some actual anxiety though. Everyone has just ruled that that is the reason for the palpitations since nothing was found in all of the heart tests.

Have you tried lithium orotate for your anxiety? I'm back to taking it since my failed tianeptine experiment and it works surprisingly well for anxiety. In social situations I tend to get a pounding heartbeat and also blush/sweat real bad. However, lithium seems to remove all of that. I'm extremely calm. I also noticed that it seems to negate the effect of caffeine for me. Normally I can only take around 60 mg or less of caffeine before the effects on my anxiety are too bad. However, while on lithium I've taken up to 140 mg of caffeine and I just barely feel it. It only takes 120 mg of lithium orotate (which is about 5 mg of elemental lithium) at night for those effects (lithium has a long half-life). It helps after the first dose but seems to be more consistent after a week of continues dosing.

I will have to look into it, it's not something I've tried or even read about yet.

I don't ever notice caffeine or stimulants causing my palpitations or causing anxiety to worsen.

I slightly feel an increase in mood and I am not getting as annoyed like normal when people talk to me or ask me questions when I do not want to be bothered. I just dosed another 800mg of Ashwaghanda. The heart palpitations are still going strong, it's been over 24 hours now. My heartbeat has been consistent around 90bpm since last night.

I could just be anxious about my sisters wedding tomorrow and rehearsal tonight, but I don't really feel like I'm anxious about it or have much reason to be. I also had a doctors appointment this morning that was to tell me if I needed surgery on both of my elbows or not, but that went okay so again I have no real reason to be anxious.

Get espom salt and bathe with it or magnesium spray for your palpitations

You can be siking yourself out

Taking a new supplement can cause anxiety in it itself especially if your half worried or concerned bout the effects

Most likely its you and not teaneptine

I have a bottle of this tentaphine I haven't tried it yet

Wondering if my first time should be before boxing sparring to ease the anxiety off little

Will it hinder performance tho??

I'll try that out as well..

I also took 25mg of Atenolol the doctor prescribed me and it might have calmed the palpitations some. It lowered my heart rate to around 60-70bpm though. That's only my second time taking it and it did about the same the first time. I wasn't experiencing any palpitations the first time though. I will take it again the next time the palpitations are real bad and hopefully be able to not have taken anything else to accurately decide what helps.

I wouldn't take tianeptine before a workout like that. It might be different for others, but it makes me too calm.

Maybe you´re right.. And i suspect the panic attack i experienced was exactly for that.. about the nausea i don´t know but i hope it wasn´t from the Tianeptine itself..

Maybe i´ll try it again soon.

This anxiety and agoraphobia is getting really really bad, to the point i can´t do things i want to.. I have motivation and want to do them but i start to think "and if i´ll feel bad?" and i gave up.

Ironically it seems this happen mainly with things i used to enjoy. I know if i insist and do them, then i fell better but those preceding moments are horrible. Nausea, lighthead, i feel like i will pass out, a lump in throat and that feeling "i need to get out of this situation and i need to go home urgently". :(

best thing to do is take supplements that dont have "scary" side effects.

Trust me in this.

Buy Suntheanine (L-Theanine) which is the calming amino acid in Green Tea.
Take 1 to 1.2 grams when your feeling or about to get an episode.

Learn breathing techniques. Deep slow breaths, count them .

Take Espom baths, spray Magnesium oil on you.

Get rid of any stimulants you are currently taking as well.

Also Inositol helps

"Inositol is found most frequently in cantaloupe, nuts, beans and wheat. Inositol or any of its phosphates and/or lipids are found in many other foods, as well. However the amounts of this nutrient in these foods is quite low and will not likely give you noticeable results in reducing anxiety symptoms. Under normal circumstances, it is recommended that Inositol powder or pills are taken in two separate 500 mg dosages daily. But if you suffer from anxiety you may need a significantly larger dosage to reap the full benefits. For those that suffer from panic disorders, as much as 5 to 18 g may be taken daily. You should speak to your doctor first to determine what the best dosage level would be for your personal situation. If an SSRI antidepressant is being taken to treat symptoms of OCD, it is not suggested to combine it with Inositol."

I would recommend the 18gram range of it.

There is nothing scary about taking L-Theanine and Inositol and Magnesium ..

Once those help you out you can slowly work your way up to other supplements.

About Inositol i already took it but i think i started with a high dosage (although far from the 18g). I think it was like 4 or 5g and gave me a massive diarrhea in the next day. Then i reduced the dosage and everything was ok but i didn´t felt any positive results from it. Maybe i had to increase the dosage slowly.

L-Teanine, sometimes i take it, but only 200mg. Next time i´ll try those 1 to 1.2g. I guess 200mg is a really weak dosage.
