Your favourite quote?

I guess this quote applies for me perfectly:

*I've learned .... That one should keep his words both soft and tender,
because tomorrow he may have to eat them.*

Lmbo! I lose a little more hope for mankind every time I see an MTV show or watch the news.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Edmund Burke

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Friedrich Nietzsche

On the mountains of truth you can never climb in vain: either you will reach a point higher up today, or you will be training your powers so that you will be able to climb higher tomorrow.

The juvenile sea squirt wanders through the sea searching for a suitable rock or hunk of coral to cling to and make its home for life. For this task, it has a rudimentary nervous system. When it finds its spot and takes root, it doesn't need its brain anymore so it eats it!

“We can know only that we know nothing. And that is the highest degree of human wisdom.”

“All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.”

You run into an azzhole in the morning, then you ran into an azzhole; you ran into azzholes all day, then your the azzhole"

If you want to be respected by others the great thing is to respect yourself. Only by that, only by self-respect will you compel others to respect you

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.

I actually am quite taken with Puccah's byline, having never read it before joining AM:

"If I live every moment believing, then the chaos in my heart will be a beautiful thing.-
I am in love, but not in love with someone or something, I am in love with my life. And for the first time, in a long time, everything is inspiring.-"

That's a beautiful way to live, open to learning and Love.

We live a life of FREEDOM on the "outside"

but so many remain SLAVES on the "inside".

Hmmm. Had a chat with a couple last night, Both him & her are in their 20's, both train hard & compete bodybuilding. Both train others & train at a gym where it's fashionable to look/do/say like XYZ. Very nice, humble and smart couple, they do their own thing & like helping others.

What saddens them is seeing people come in to their lives, share their knowledge, their sweaty sessions & grow to be the person they THINK will make them happy. Those skinny young guys/overweight girls that got picked on turn into the "beautiful" people that picked on them in school, at work, in life in general. so what do they do? They become one of them, they join the "cool" crowd & say & do to others what was done to them. They alienate the genuine & embrace the pretenders and when they have a mishap, such as life throws at us from time to time, where are these newfound "friends"? Nowhere to be seen.

Fredom on the outside,
Slaves on the inside.

Very apt Puccah, thank you :fing02:

I wonder...if we were all blind.....

I became that person for a while. Nobody could say sh*t to my cocky a**. The sad truth was that I still saw the old me in the mirror and masked my insecurity with my arrogance. We are all victims to our "truth".

To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy’s resistance without fighting.

Not sure if it's been said in here yet but "it will destroy you if you try to make it mean anything to anyone but yourself"

"It ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward, that's how winning is done"
