TGR's Modified PowerBuilding v2.0

Crazy day. A mix of not feeling well and helping someone with personal issues.

I'm skipping work tomorrow (maybe not the gym) to give my cough time to recover. It's been giving me headaches.

I'll catch up on everyone's logs tomorrow, likely, or when I get home late tonight.

Dude, take a day. Let the gunk leave your body. You'll only do more harm than good. Lay around and watch Big Lebowski, Dumb and Dumber. Let your brain rot and your body recover. Or whatever you do that will recover. I relax harder than most.

I had to go pick a buddy up at 0230, so I've had two cups coffee already and I'm wide awake. Gonna go do some mobility and rowing so I don't wake the wife up, then I'll rest the day away with cough syrup.

Stressed out, coughing and allergies = PRs!? Congratulations brother!

Huge, huge PR on the meadows. Just blew my 150 out of the water! Officially jealous, but happy for you!!

Strong rowing man! Lifting seems to make me kinda feel better when I got a little head cold or something. As long as it's nothing stomach related of course.

I'm not sure that's the cause. lol

Thanks Mark.

Thanks Brian. made big jumps though. I'd be willing to bet your 150 was after 60 previous reps. lol

I felt great while lifting and really didn't have many coughing fits until I got home. Thanks man.

Those Meadows Rows man... you are Mr. Meadows

It was fun! Just good timing to do them and a great belt. I don't think I could've done that belt-less.

Nice work man your making great gains. Stay off them toes thou

I see what you mean. For the first time ever I tried to concentrate on spreading the floor, and to be honest I don't have a clue how to. That may be some of the reason, but I have a tendency to roll forward at least a couple times on squat reps.

Tips to keep the heels down?

Thanks man

I do it to I think it just comes from trying to rush just need to approach each rep like a single as swim does. I stopped think spread the floor I think more stay tight but that's what works for me

You sonofabitch! I want one!

To stay on the heels more, think about sitting back AND staying upright. but usually thinking heels is enough to get you on your heels.

Thanks man. I'll work on that.

I practiced some with it. I need to get used to not hitting my big ole butt with it. I can feel the shoulder and lat work with it with only the 7# of the bar.

Should've seen what he initially was trying to do with that "new toy"...
He even mentions something along those lines above "big ole butt"...

NIce squats Thomas... and those stiff leg deadlifts... beauties!

See you got your new toy... ;)

Thanks man!

Simma! lol

Lol!!

Hey, really impressed with your workouts this year. You've totally refocused from last year and have made gains by leaps and bounds.

Thanks man. I'm really motivate this year, too. This program really fits what I like to see in the gym.

I started really light too. Like a 5# sleeve that goes over the rack pins. At least with that thing you can scale it.

I was playing with my toy/ShouldeRok for a while, and I got past the awkward part. I'm going to love this thing. My wife did it a little and it loosened her shoulders up good.

I might have to give this guy more than just the $25 he asked for.

Heels popping up could be ankle mobility, or just rushing like dmax said. I, personally, don't use the spread the floor cue. Doesn't work for me, but everyone is different

I don't notice anything with "spread the floor", but I may be doing it wrong. It's possible I'm rushing. I won't lie, I have a number in my head and I want to get there as fast as possible.

I personally don't spread the floor when my stance was similar to yours. It was more of a grip and twist ala Chris Duffin/Brian Carroll. My wide stance, box squat, and sumo, is where I'll "spread"

I guess I shouldn't have tried to fix that which wasn't suggested I should.

Hey have to try new thing to find out what works at some lvl that may have worked and made your sqaut even stronger who know but u

Rest day. May do some ShouldeRok and bicep mashing later.

Have a great Sunday folks.

Another note, I still haven't completely shaken the cough nor the headache. This must be that time a year I've mentioned that I get a month long headache due to allergies. Last year it was spawned by heavy pressing. This year, it's from the cough. I didn't get any headaches mid lifting this week.

I'm going to be trying a BTC allergy med tomorrow. Maybe that'll help.

Claritin give me debilitating headaches. Allegra with benadryl in between works great for me

I use generic Allegra and it works great for my body/eye itches. I don't like Claritin or Zyrtec. Didn't do much for me. Flonase doesn't either...

Definitely, I feel. I squat about shoulder width or so and I focus on twisting and pushing my hips through.

Put baseball bat grip on my ShouldeRok because it didn't have knurling. Works out great.

Ran out of time. I may be doing too much ShouldeRok, if there's such a thing. Shoulders feel great, and once again I felt no bicep issues. Not even un-racking the 205, which is a first to not feel anything.

I brought my bench grip out some with pinky on ring. At first it felt awkward, but the help from the chest may have been what helped my un-racking. "Skull crushing" the bar off they rack is no Bueno. lol

Congrats on the PR! Watching ShouldeRok video now. That is quite a shoulder workout in itself!
