Sweetlou's training log

Some extra notes. The test prop I have is decent. The pip from it is bad tho. I think this source used to much ba. So I bumped it down and added trest back in to cut the pip down. Which worked. However im real tired and run down now. Libido also tanked. But I'm looking leaner everyday and recovering well. Alsoy bp is up a touch again. When I'm really pushing sets my face looks horrible. Dark red near purple. Its scares me. So I'm gonna remove the trest. Suck up the pip. And add dbol since I respond well to it and I'm not trying to make 198 anymore. I can't wait for my insurance to kick in then I can be on legit trt again just use some extra test pre meet when I want a boost.

I'm just happy I've kept trucking forward regardless of the hormone issues.

Whether I'm on or off, I try to bring a take-no-prisoners mindset when I train - strength is a mindset first, and if you're not mentally determined you'll never achieve your true potential. My heaviest squat ever was 12 weeks off-cycle for 5lbs more than my drugged PR, & it was deep as hell too. I was fired up, well-prepared and I wanted it. You can definitely do some big stuff this coming meet.

This is how I always trained. I have to be on trt so I cruise most of the time. The last blast was just as bad as this one. Riddled with road blocks and sides. I had a real chance of totaling pro as a junior in gear at that meet regardless of hormones. I feel the same here. I don't rely on this stuff. I just wanted to try and get a boost. I've only blasted twice too. So far bad experiences both times lol.

Lol there's a lot that can go wrong, and a lot of sides to deal with. Jim Wendler was doing some business seminar and he made a joke about how you should take in mg of test the number you want your total to be, and that would also be your cholesterol score

Boosts are good, but it's only one piece of the puzzle for sure.

Lol I love that wendler quote. Deff an inside Obb joke. Same with jls quote of test and dbol no ai is what to take. Also a funny one.

Who doesn't love a boost? I personally like the boost in libido lol.

Notes: health is declining some. Strength is OK. Feeling decent overall. 335 was easy and my technique is where I need it now. Cleaning up all the issues before the overreach. Have a good work base to pull from too.

Good session, bud. Stay as healthy as ya can for us

The changes I've made should reflect in my health soon. Its mostly bp and hr issues. Nothing is worth my health. Hence the extra cardio. No total or PR is worth feeling good either. I'll probably never reach the top with this attitude but it doesn't mean I wont try lol.

Keeping health a priority will get you a lot further than not, it will just take longer to hit the numbers you want in the end. You're on the right path.

Warm up
PVC pipe roll

Notes: some more PRS in the books. First rep moved OK and second moved much better. Had my belt to tight in the first one. Almost passed out on the first block pull and the second was easier. I'm shot now. The rest of rehab based stuff. Tested bp before stims and training. Bp was 150/90 hr was 90. After training and some caffeine and ephedrine it was 130/87 hr was 85. Same machine and set up. It'll improve in the next couple weeks tho. No worries there.

Killer session! Big pulling there

And congrats on the record, took em long enough lol

Me and you are close in age, I'll be 24 in August

My wife has all of the junior APF raw records for her class in TX. Would have the Nat. too, but I didn't fill out both forms :(

She's closing in on the junior WPC deadlift world record too, if we can keep her injury free that is.

That's awesome man. That's some impressive lifting. Hope she stays healthy!

Same, will be 25 in July. I swear to God I thought you were 50 lmao. Can't remember why I thought you were an older guy on here.

It's his calm, intellectual demeanor. Don't let him fool you though, I hear he also is all state in the junior division headbutt championships.

Hey lou what have u been doing as far as reps working up in your bench? I thought at one time u mentioned u need more of a Warmup

Hey lou what have u been doing as far as reps working up in your bench? I thought at one time u mentioned u need more of a Warmup

Don't log them but I still do them.

My warm up looks like
1-5 sets of the bar to get arch warmed up and see if I need any additional work done to getting my scapula moving correctly.
95x3-5 reps, repeat as needed
135x3-5 reps, repeat as needed
185x3, may repeat if not happy with speed
225x3, 2-3 sets done in cat format as this is 60% of my goal. If happy with speed and technique on the second set i move up as planned.

That is my general warm up on bench. I was taught anything under 50% doesnt matter as far as fatigue accumulation so I'll spend as long as I need under that number and go up when I'm ready. Some days I ready from the first set. Others I need 7-8 sets under 50%. Hope that helps.

Thanks this will help a lot. The guy who has been helping me get my bench moving again notice yesterday that my performance improved a lot as the sets moved on so we decided that I need a more extensive Warm-up. Next week I'm going to go in earlier and try it out

Yeah its what I had to do too. BC like you I get better with extra sets. Some guys do better with less sets. We don't.

Notes: i made a last ditch effort to make 198. Not gonna make it. Im 215 in the am. I'm depleted and dry. I was barely sweating today. I usually sweat like crazy. I'm tired and I was getting fatigued fast. The usually higher rep stuff I blow through was challenging. Strength is holding up I just don't feel strong. Time to turn this around. This is the leanest I've been at this weight tho. Larsen presses are super hard. Imbalances were showing on ohp so I kept the weight lower to address them.

Currently the guy giving my bench advice is using a reactive slingshot on all his sets from warm to working set I'm curious how it works out as he goes into his meet he hit 400 for a double in the blue then 450 for a single in the red. It's a theory he's got going

Is he raw? I'm curious what his theory is.

Yes sir, used to be a bench only guy then went gear now raw.

Last week he used it just at the
beginning then dropped it at about 315 and hit 385 easily

I believe he's stated to help save his shoulders going into the meet..

I'll talk him more and pass on what he thinks. He's not a big name lifter but it doesn't mean he mite not be on something. We'll see

I could see that making sense from the sense of saving his shoulders and staying healthy.

I personally get no shoulder issues from benching. So I'm not sure how much I'd see from this. Not to mention I get like 20% out of a slingshot anyways lol.

I'm thinking of buying a 3XL reactive just to get less carryover out of my slanger.

If just like to try one.

Yeah I can't imagine using anything higher than my blue one, for raw purposes at least

Dude my 2XL Full Boar is awesome. Multiple guys I know have bought one since they tried mine. I get about 30-40lbs out of it, but I have a crappy bench anyway.
