Killn' The Cube: My powerlifting venture begins

Switch-up ain't a bad idea. More motivation at least. Wacha thinkin?

Definitely, man.

Honestly, I've been thinking about giving 5/3/1 a shot. Though it seems counterintuitive to go from a Westside split to 5/3/1, I think there's something I can learn from it.

That's certainly not in stone though. Having someone program for me is a possibility as well.

Starting research now.

Good day. Somehow I forgot to do a triceps movement..wtf. I'm going to do a lot more reading into John Meadows techniques and implement them into my accessories. I think there's a lot to be learned from BB'ers in that regard.

Oh, and that big dude that was talking to me about making a PL'ing team totaled over 1400 in a push/pull. Haha

Edit: said he weighed 248. I thought he was at least 275.

Dang, raw?? Edit: fck it, that's a lot with a bench shirt even.

I think it was 1425, but I'm not 100% sure.

Edit: He doesn't squat though. He just retired from the Marines after 20 years. I think he has a bad knee.

I used to be on the "you suck if you don't do full power" bandwagon, but push pull is more fun to prep for and you just don't mouth off to a guy who pulls big.

Jim would though, he ain't no bitch.

I used to be the same, man. This dude is legitimate though, I can guarantee he doesn't exclude squats from his routine due to a lack of testicular fortitude.

Haha, Jim would drag his dick through 100 miles of broken glass just to tell him to squat.

You're god damn right.

Bunch of no squatting pussies in PLing.

I agree about using some Bb stuff. Meadows knows his crap, and I use quite a bit of his technique.

What are reading up on to utilize his stuff?

Honestly, I was just reading some threads and saw this post from someone.

Invalid Link Removed

Just opened my eyes a little to some stuff I don't know, and I think would be good to implement. I've also been checking out a lot of his videos since. Getting privy to partial reps and today I did my BSS while holding onto something. That's something I saw him talk about in his videos.

I'm PM'ing you right now.

Your deadlifts make me feel like a bîtch.

Honestly, I took that one ME day off from deadlifting heavy and I came back and felt like shít. I didn't even take the whole week off, since I still did deads on DE day.

Kind of crazy. I can deadlift >90% for 6+ weeks in a row and feel strong as hell, but if I take one heavy day off I feel weak. I'm getting back in the swing of things now.

Oh, and I have now reached crackhead status.

Consuming 1.5 scoops stimul8 + 1 full ephedrine pre. Then 1 scoop focus xt + Gatorade powder intra.

Nice.

That's pretty intense.

Shoulder movement that I can't describe coherently but sucked completely.

Pec dec: 140x15 full reps, 10 partials x3

Solid day. I have noticed that I need to stay tight off my chest on bench. Everything else was solid.

I start my new job June 1st. Going on vacation tomorrow night. I have bungee jumping, zip lining, and white water rafting booked; so it should be fun.

Oh, and I'm going to find a gym down there to train at. Lady friend isn't too happy about it, but she WILL live with it.

Just got back from vacation. Literally the first vacation I've taken since I was 16.

Went ATVing up the smokeys, zip-lined, white water rafted, and went bungee jumping.

I worked out at some 24 hour fitness spot down there. Ready to get back to work at my gym tomorrow. Heavy squats and deads. God is good.

God IS good.

Sounds like a great time man.

Huge PR on squats today. 20# PR and I hit it for 3 sets. Still pissed about my deadlift performance, though.

Dude, why couldn't you just pull six after squat PRs? Don't sweat it, just keep chugging. Nice day.

Who is this guy? Nice squatting man.
