Sean's Powerlifting Journey

Are you a novice? Lol. I have no clue what type of experience ya got

I've got none lol Used a 120lb circus Dumbell a few times. Not terrible with carries. Log pressed 215 or so for some reps.

I guess my biggest worry is the 750lb yoke. I have everything to train with but that.

I did open first time. Should've done novice. From what I hear, do novice until they won't let you anymore. I was good on axle and deadlift, but 275 farmer's killed me, 275 sandbag carry killed me, so did the 250 stone to 56". I took second to last out of 6 or 7. Honestly, just looking at the events, you might just want to work foot speed, agility, conditioning, and carries and do open. 260 axle is tough. I'd do a lot of split jerks out of the rack to prep and a lot of practice with the continental clean. I don't think you'll hate 750 yoke. If you don't have a yoke, Spud just started making Straps that you hang from the bar that turn it into a yoke.

Get on the implements, then decide which class to enter. The 750 yoke won't kill you, I've done 600 and you've got a bigger squat than me.

Short on time. Accomplished in 30 minutes.

Taped off today, too. BMI is 22. My max allowable weight is 186 lol

So did you fail the test?
You guys still do max allowable weight too?
We do a waist measurement that has to be <39"
If you fail that, you can request bmi, but it never works out. PT test is so ridiculous it hurts!

Yeah if you're over max weight then they tape you. I always pass the tape though. Guys that fail the BMI taping but are still shredded huge, get pictures taken by medical to document I think.

Doing what you do, I'm willing to bet you could easily get a waiver put in your med file. Not to many Dr.'s out there are gonna call you unfit. Not sure how heavy the CG is on this sorta crap, but the AF is bootin dudes left n right!

They're lookin to boot people, too. It's not worth going over BMI.

Strong BMI score, you're more "ideal weight" than my 27 "overweight" ass.

How are you a BMI of 22 at 5'9" @ 217? I'm 5'10" & weighed 229 a week or so ago when they did it at work and my BMI was 33. And they taped my gut from belly button around erectors at 34".

Maybe it's BF then. Like I said earlier, it was a neck/waist/height calculation. I really don't know crap about either measurements.

That sounds much more appropriate. I believe I'm low 20s BF% as well. 21-25 if I was a betting man. And in your vids you belly seems comparable to mine from a distance (all homo).

Wasn't going to even squat but someone else was. My hips feel incredible. Stance was rack wide. Did about 15min worth of hip traction afterwards.

Damn right. In NomZ words, I'm hanging by bands from my nipples and stuff.

If only the three of us could be banded nipple super buddies together, we'd be so supple and strong.

Wonder how many blue bands it would take for the 3 of us to hang upside down together.

And who would be in the middle.

Just enough...

I think all of em. And NomZ is definitely middle.

Weight is 225. 2lbs down from Monday. Eating at maintenance. Drinking 2gal of water a day. No dairy. Dropped creatine. Quit Nicorette and started dipping. I'll cut off carbs at Noon tomorrow. Depending on Fridays weight, I'll drop cals and fluids at Noon. Noon weigh-in Saturday. I have Evomuse Diuretix I contemplated starting. Thoughts?

I forget the protocol on diuretics, but starting now sounds about right.

So...White Rapids.......just saying....

Never experienced any kidney pain ever so I'm sure I'll freak out and stop immediately.

It was already after my last dose lol, and I was very dehydrated at that point (16 hours from weighins). Never been that dehydrated though as I'm new to this so who knows. But another guy at the weighin said he had taken a dandelion root product for the first time too and also had pain lol.

It really was quite an awful ache though (had to lay just right to not feel it much) and if you get it cut it out. But it was probably just my body hating me.

If you feel kidney pain, I feel ya done fcked up. I've never had kidney pain in all of my years of water cuts, just dizzy/lightheadedness. The lightheadedness usually only comes during a sauna or bath. Not sure how Byrd wants you to do it, but you should be fine pounding water until late Friday morning. I'd say have a bunch of water when you wake up, then stop as soon as you start pissing again.

Learning a lot in here. That weight cut is intense stuff.

My kidneys are hurting just reading this. Good luck Sean!!!
